My airbag light has come on and I have not been in any accident and I am taking it to to the dealer. Why it should go on I don't know. There has been no reason for this issue to take place. It all happened yesterday, I put my seat belt on and started my car and the airbag light kept go on and off and now is staying on when the car is in drive.

The contact owns a 2008 kia Rondo. While driving approximately 40 mph, the air bag indicator remained illuminated. The failure was not diagnosed or remedied. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 126,000.
Just like the recall of 07-08 Rondo models my air bag light has come on and fails to reset. I believe the recall should be extended. Light came on while car was stationary and started for a trip to the store. No photo the airbag light comes on each time the car is started. There is no airbag error code stored in the computer.

Brought my car to kia dealership upon re-call 6/2012 to replace clock spring assembly. 12/28/2015 - brought car to same kia dealership and found that the clock spring assembly had to be replaced again since the air bag light continues to stay on. Called kia same day to let them know that the assembly had to be replaced and that they should be responsible for payment. They stated that it was not under warranty and since the dealership replaced the original assembly during the re-call, I would have to pay the cost for the defective assembly that was replaced during re-call with the newly installed assembly on 12/29/2015. I believe it is the kia corporations responsibility to absorb payment for the defective clock spring assembly that controls deployment of the driver side air bag. I will have to pay $271. 00 plus tax in order for the dealership to release my car. I should be reimbursed by kia corp for the defective part and labor that was needed to replace the assembly. Interesting, they wouldn¿t allow me to take their survey to rate their service! will also take this matter to the better business bureau!.
Tl-the contact owns a 2009 kia Rondo. The contact stated that while driving stated that while driving at an unknown speed, the steering wheel seized without warning. The contact stated that the air bag warning indicator illuminated continuously. The failure recurred three times. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure was approximately 100,000. Sg.
When I brake the car in the high speed(maybe 40 miles and more in highway), the steering wheel is shaking, and I need to handle it very hard. And this situation is more serious in highway. And the airbag light is always on when I am driving.
This 2009 kia Rondo has had three air bag related problems. 1. The front passenger seat was replaced at $1700 because a sensor caused the air bag light to display. 2. The steering wheel air bag unit was replaced at $900 because again the air bag light was on. 3. The same day that the steering wheel air bag unit was replaced the air bag light again displayed and this time the clock spring was replaced at no charge. These air bag problems raise serious concerns about the safety of kia vehicles.
Air bag light has illuminated and won't go off. Which may result in possible failure in a crash.
Nothing unordinary happened. However I believe it may have been around the time I had a new battery installed in my car. It went from one day to the next, where all of a sudden the airbag light can on and hasn't gone off since. I've had no accident, no major repair, nothing out of the ordinary. Now, I'm looking to take it to the kia dealer, who wants to charge me $120 just to get codes and determine why the light is on. I feel this is something that should be covered under warranty, being that there is nothing a driver could do to cause a malfunction or disconnection with the airbags and how they function. I've seen three other posts on here where the airbags didn't deploy when they were suppose to. The big determining factor for my purchase of the kia Rondo, was it's safety features, and all the airbags that are throughout the vehicle. Something seem terribly wrong with having to pay twice for something, that appears to have been faulty off the manufacturing line.

Since I purchased the car at the kia dealership in nc - it was raining and I drover over a puddle of water, I was making a right turn in the process and all lights turned on on dash - it slowed my car down almost turned off. Airbag light turned on (still on). Car turned back on but everytime it rains - I am afraid because my car stalls and it stops depending on the amount of water. This is dangerous especially if I am on the highway. I called the kia shop and they find nothing wrong with my car and I have to pay to get the airbag light fixed. I don't think I should pay for something that I did not break. Since I have had my car - it has done the above at least 4 times and the airbag light is still on.
While driving my car the air bag light came on and the passenger side of the car where the other air bag light car flashing. I took the car into the dealer and was told that the airbag censor in the seat track needed to be replaced. Due to this problem none of my air bags work. I am concerned since they have had one recall on their airbags that this is something that should further be checked into.
Takata recall. I don't know enough about vehicle airbags to know if my problem is part of the takata recall. However, I've learned that kia did issue a recall for an airbag problem with the Rondo (# sc094). Unaware of this recall, I brought my kia to the kia dealer when my airbag light illuminated. It's possible that the date was prior to the kia recall. The kia dealer told me that I must pay out of pocket for any investigation of the cause of the airbag light illuminating due to the expiration of the 60,000 mile warranty on the vehicle. To this day, the airbag light is still illuminated. I'm not certain of the exact date that I notified the kia dealer.
