Warning Light On Problems of Kia Motor Rondo

Airbag light and passenger seatbelt warning light came on, symptoms similar to those described in kia recall campaign sc094. Kia was contacted and they advised that this vehicle not covered under the recall. I feel possible it is one of the affected models.

Tl-the contact owns a 2008 kia Rondo. The contact received a recall notification and had it repair however, the contact was still experienced the failure. The contact stated while driving approximately 40 mph, the air bag warning light illuminated continuously. The failure recurred numerous times. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where the diagnosis was unknown. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 55,000. Ak.

The contact owns a 2007 kia Rondo. The contact stated that the air bag warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where a diagnostic was performed, which located the failure at the front passenger's side mat sensor. The manufacturer advised that the vehicle was not included in NHTSA campaign number 12v244000 (air bag). The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and current mileage was 104,000.

Airbag and passenger seatbelt warning lights remain on at all times. The car has been in for service several times, but the problem has not been corrected. The warning lights are only a minor nuisance, but I was told that when the light is on, the airbag is inoperable and would not deploy in an accident.
