1 Suspension Noise problem

Failure Date: 08/17/2017

The contact owns a 2007 kia Sedona. While driving approximately 15 mph, there was a loud scraping noise coming from underneath the vehicle. The contact coasted the vehicle to the side of the road and noticed that the front driver side tire was bent forward, touching the vehicle. The contact's husband diagnosed that the lower control arm detached. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, but was not diagnosed or repaired. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer. The VIN was included in NHTSA campaign number: 16v387000 (suspension). The manufacturer was not notified. The approximate failure mileage was 155,000.

2 Suspension Noise problem

Failure Date: 09/12/2016

The contact owns a 2007 kia Sedona. While driving approximately 30 mph, a snap noise was heard under the vehicle and the steering wheel jerked to the left. The vehicle seized and the contact had to push it off the roadway. The vehicle was towed and the mechanic noticed that the lower control arm was fractured and the racket pinion was busted. The vehicle was not repaired. The VIN was included in NHTSA campaign number: 16v387000 (suspension). The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 120,400.

3 Suspension Noise problem

Failure Date: 04/01/2014

2007 kia Sedona. At about 62,000 miles suspension was making noise. Dealer diagnosed the front sub cross member bushings as needing replacement-to the tune of $2200. 00! this was done and it fixed the problem. At 67,000 miles a new front end noise has developed over bumps. I'm now told the control arm bushings need to be replaced and sway bar link bushings will be next. Car is maintained and used for local short trips around town. I would expect a recall for using substandard bushings.

4 Suspension Noise problem

Failure Date: 03/05/2013

The contact owns a 2007 kia Sedona. The contact stated that there was a noise emitting from the rear of the vehicle. The contact mentioned that the steering wheel was tight. The vehicle was taken to an independent repair shop who diagnosed that the front struts, the front mounts, the sway bar and the rack and pinion fractured and needed to be replaced. The contact was not included in NHTSA campaign id number: 13v550000 (suspension). The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 50,000.
