1 Brake Disc Caliper problem of the 2006 Kia Motor Sedona

Failure Date: 11/01/2020

Bought a van the next day my breaks were metal on metal. I found out it was flooded. The second day the key stuck in the ignition, the middle seats got stuck and will not fold up. The dealer said their mechanic went all over the van and said it was in good condition. The calipers are in very bad shape. He said they need replaced soon.

2 Brake Disc Caliper problem of the 2009 Kia Motor Sedona

Failure Date: 03/13/2019

The front brake caliper mounting brackets bolts loosen and fall out causing caliper failure. This also cause the caliper to become loose and scrub the inside of the rim which in turn damages both the caliper and the rim. This happens while in motion both on highways and city streets.

4 Brake Disc Caliper problem of the 2003 Kia Motor Sedona

Failure Date: 10/22/2008

I have a 2003 kia Sedona and I have had nothing but issues. Anywhere from having to replace the alternator, which I will say was a pain in the butt. . . To major issues with the brakes. From reading many different sites this is not an uncommon issue!!!!!!!!!!!! it is just so frustrating that you purchase a van because they say it is great then you get this piece of junk. The sad thing is most people who own these are young couples with children and can not afford the repairs but have to pay for them and we are stuck with theses trash boxes because we have children and can not afford to go out and trade it in, lose our butts because they are not worth the money we owe on them. I can not afford to keep fixing this heap of junk but I am stuck with it. I hope that something gets done with these. . . They are worthless and my children are paying for it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have not had a vehicle so bad in my life. . . I am tired of replacing the brakes, routers, and now the calipers!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

5 Brake Disc Caliper problem of the 2003 Kia Motor Sedona

Failure Date: 07/03/2008

I bought a 2003 Sedona used in 2007 with about 50000 miles and have nothing but problems ever since. 1st in 7/08 I went to a local shop (not kia) because my engine seemed very loud. The mechanic told me I needed new motor mounts n that it was kind of unusual for a car to need them so soon. I did call kia n ask them about this and was basically told to bad for you. So I had them fixed ($556. 36). Not even a few weeks later my ac was blowing hot. Same mechanic told me my ac was out n that one of the hoses needed replaced. Had to wait a few years but had it replaced ($1050. 72). Had my 1st brake job done in 2008 ever since I've had to have my brakes replace 2-3 yearly plus had to have new calipers. No one can tell me way the breakpads wear out so quickly. I dont drive a unusual amount. I've had to replace 2 interior door handle and now have a broken exterior handle. My air bag light stays on while I drive which scares me reading others airbag stories. When I try to fill my car with gas the pump will click off after a dollar or 2 like its full but its not. And just a week or so ago I was ob the highway with the cruuse control on all of a sudden I smelt this overpowering smell of gas. I pulled over and checked but didnt see anything wrong. Continued driving again smelled gas tried turning off the ac didnt help. Tried turning off the cruise control the smell instantly stopped. I hope that something can b done to help me and the others with kias. I have some of my repair paperwork. If you have questions for me please call me.

6 Brake Disc Caliper problem of the 2006 Kia Motor Sedona

Failure Date: 04/10/2008

Front end failure of sway bar links on my 2006 kia Sedona Mini van. We bought the van in sept of 2007 as a used van with about 20,000 miles on it. At 25,138 miles the sway bar links were replaced. I just had my own garage do them again with 41,971 miles on it. These should last longer than 17,000 miles. I also had it at the dealer for a shimmy in the front end and they replaced both front axles. We are still experiencing a shimmy at times. The right side sub frame bushings were replaced at 32,268 miles. Then at 33,367 miles it was back into the shop for the left rear subframe bushings. The date of that repair was 11/23/09. They informed me that the rear brakes were not working and all rusted up. I advised them not to do the work because I could do it myself and that it was not covered under warranty. I replaced both rear rotors, pads, and both calipers because they were all rusted. Our factory warranty ends at the end of the year and I have great concerns that I will be putting alot of money into a junk front end. We did have it at the shop for one recall notice for a possible faulty brake switch that could not shut off the cruise control. On 8/14/09 with 34,324.

7 Brake Disc Caliper problem of the 2004 Kia Motor Sedona

Failure Date: 04/03/2007

This van has brake problems squeaking and wearing out pads way too fast. I was told nothing is wrong with the brake system but when taking it to a brake shop I was told the calipers are bad, kia has not fixed them and denies that they're bad. The check engine light came on and I was told that a spark plug had misfired, that was fixed under warranty and then another spark plug misfired and was fixed under warranty. The oil level was getting low but I had no leak and I was told that the oil filter was simply loose so they said they fixed it. I asked if I should bring the van back in a week to have the oil level checked and we were assured there was no leak. Check engine light came on again and the oil light flickered, did not stay illuminated, so we took it to the dealership immediately, as the owners manual and the mechanic had stated. Then we're told that there's sludge in the engine and that it will be 2,000 dollars to take it apart and check the damage that we caused from continuing to drive it. They never told us there was any reason to not drive it nor did they mention sludge previously. The van will be towed back to kia tomorrow.

8 Brake Disc Caliper problem of the 2004 Kia Motor Sedona

Failure Date: 03/15/2005

: the contact stated at various speeds, the vehicle's front brakes made a screeching noise. The vehicle was taken to the dealership who determined that the front brake pads were worn and installed new pads. The vehicle returned to the dealer 4 months later, because the pads wore out prematurely and had to be replaced. This did not remedy the problem. On the 3rd visit, the dealer replaced the front calipers but the problem persisted. The vehicle was taken to the dealer on 2 other occasions for front pad replacement, but the problem persisted. The manufacturer was not contacted.
