1 Adaptive Equipment problem of the 2014 Kia Motor Sorento

Failure Date: 04/26/2015

As I was driving into my daughters driveway approx. 5-10 mph I heard a loud pop and then glass raining down from the panoramic sunroof onto the back seat of the vehicle. All the windows and sunroof were closed at the time of the occurrence. Only the rear portion of the glass roof shattered, the front glass remained in tack.

3 Adaptive Equipment problem of the 2012 Kia Motor Sorento

Failure Date: 10/15/2014

The struts on my back lift gate are already worn out on a 2012 kia Sorento. I had a 2007 kia sportage prior to this vehicle and never had a problem with the back struts on the lift gate. On the sportage the glass opened separately from the bottom half of the lift gate. However, this newer vehicle wore out the back lift gate struts in just over 2 years with only 35,000 miles on the vehicle. The back lift gate is not separated between the door and the glass so the entire back lift door is extremely heavy to open and hold without the struts to keep the trunk door lifted and has the potential to hurt small children or even adults who are not anticipating a sudden failure of the struts on a vehicle with such low mileage. At this point, the entire trunk area cannot be used until the problem is fixed, but repair shops want over $500 to fix a part that should not have worn out this quickly to begin with. I will attempt seek remedy from kia directly, but wanted to bring the issue up in case others are experiencing similar problems for trend analysis and potential recall.

7 Adaptive Equipment problem of the 2011 Kia Motor Sorento

Failure Date: 02/10/2011

1st problem: I bought the car, drove it off the lot, dealership did not get it inspected so I had to take it at 10 miles to get an inspection sticker on it! 2nd problem: immediately after buying the car, I noticed all the windows and doors rattled. Took it to kia in kingwood 5 times and they could never hear the sound and/or fixed other things on the car that did not need to be fixed. Problem still exists. 3rd problem: engine light kept coming on, 3 visits later, I needed a new transmission, at 13,000 miles. . Something wrong with sensor that measures fluids?? 4th problem: taking back at 14,500 miles on Monday(3/18/12) to get doors checked out now electronics are messed up and loud noise everytime I lock or roll down windows. Also, cant get key to turn in ignition alot!! what a piece of crap!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.
