The contact owns a 2015 kia Sorento. The contact stated that paint was peeling off from the vehicle roof frame, causing it to rust. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who diagnosed that the paint was defective and it was a known failure. The dealer referred the contact to the manufacturer. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but provided no assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 115,000.

My 2015 kia Sorento at around 90,000 miles started getting areas where the paint is bubbling. At 98,975 miles after a hard rain (no hail) a large spot of paint peeled off on the passenger side pillar around window. It is also starting on hood and above windshield. The color of my is snow white pearl. I have reported it to kia and have a case # [xxx]. They are not responding to my emails. August 29. 2022 is the date of the major peeling. The contact owns a 2017 (na) kia Sorento. While driving the vehicle, the chrome finish located on the air vents created a reflection from the sunshine. The contact was unable to see the road clearly. The contact had not driven the vehicle since the failure occurred. The dealer was notified. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 1,200.

2014 kia sorrento. Consumer writes in regards to the driver seat, accelerator and brake pedal issues. The consumer stated the very large seats were a problem for her, as they were hard to adjust. The distance between the driver's seat and the accelerator pedal, in the most forward and highest seat position, was so great, she was only able to engage the pedals with her toes. The consumer stated she could barely see the hood and couldn't see or distance the front of the vehicle. Therefore, she was forced to use both a manufacturer's vehicle seat cushion and a thick chair cushion underneath that, to be able to raise her body up and closer to the dash. Also, there was and continues to be a subtle, chirping, rhythmic sound coming from the driver's side front tire or wheel well. The service technician stated he did not hear a noise. The traction light illuminated. The consumer discovered the tires had no traction, as they did not grip the road properly. She was informed the tires were inferior, so she was forced to purchase 4 new winter tires at a cost of $ 657. 18. Updated 04/21/14.

The two rear, fixed windows leaked while the vehicle was in a touchless carwash. The dealership and service department have been notified and are having a glass expert inspect the trim and seal. The cause of the leaks is currently unknown.

Was having my tires changed when mechanic noticed a significant amount of rot on the frame on the right side rear where the arm connects to the frame. High potential for the arm to pull out of frame which could cause a loss of control of the vehicle. Car started rusting around fenders and rockers 4 years ago. This frame rot is a structural integrity issue. Contacted kia and said that due to mileage and year that it was not their issue regardless of the 3 previous claims I found on the NHTSA site and the fact that it is a manufactures defect.

My 2003 kia Sorento start vibrating as I was pulling into my driveway and before I can park it I heard a load noise and my steering wheel became very heavy to steer and almost loose control. I had a mechanic look into the issue and found the pulley bolt (harmonic balancer) broke in half. I had also check if this is an unusual problem - came to find out that this could potential design defect from kia. As there are thousand of them that has similar problem complained on the internet. I had called kia dealer ship and they are not helping on this design flaw issue.

The panel assembly under cover is broken off easy and obstructing the wheels movement, can causes over turn or flip over.

Seat trim on drivers seat breaks allowing seat controls to move seat while vehicle is moving. It can move seat forward or backward without driver doing anything. This trim has broken 4 times with the seat moving twice (2) out of the four (4) times. Kia dealer has replaced trim all four (4) times and acknowledged it is a defect in the trim design, however kia has not issued a recall. Trim is held on by plastic, as it moves the plastic breaks, allowing seat controls to move against door or floor making seat move. This has occurred on 8/27/11, 06/16/12, 08/04/12 and 11/09/12. Talking to kia dealers it is a common problem that has not been addressed.

Sitting in the drive way opening the sunroof and it shattered on me and my family, the glass fell on me and my wife. The seats were scratched as well as the dash, I also had scraches on my forehead as I was looking at the switch. The car had aprox 400 miles. The dealer fixed the roof replaced the scratched pannels, the car also has a slight pull to the right they said they couldnt replicate the problem. It took aprox 12 days to get the car back. Two days after recieving the car back we took a trip and with 914 miles a small rock hit the wind shield at aprox 55 to 60 mph and it cracked about 9 inches long. Does kia use an inferior glass in there vehicles and why the pull to the right?.

Car power steering began to fail. Power steering fluid was checked but adding fluid did not solve the problem. Vehicle failed to start, needed to be towed to mechanic. After inspection by mechanic, it was determined that the crank shaft bolt broke off from the car. Consequently this broke the timing belt and may have bent the valve rods (mechanic is in the process of taking the vehicle apart and assessing any other subsequent damage caused by the broken crank shaft bolt). The vehicle needs thousands of dollars of repairs (still being determined as to the entire scope). The bolt, timing belt and most likely valve rods will need to be replaced, along with numerous hours of labor due to the fact the engine needs to be taken apart and put back together. The old crank shaft bolt is available.

Clunking noise coming from right front of car when going over small bumps. Seems like something is loose and banging around. Car is currently at the dealer with numerous problems. I will list more later.

The chrome rings around instrument panel are very blinding on sunny days and could cause an accident.

2011 kia Sorento, chrome bezel on instrument panel reflects sun light and street lights intense enough to cause temp blinding flash. Contact kia vehicle is new and no other complaints have been filed.

2006 kia Sorento. I bought this vehicle new in 2006. I have replaced several headlights, taillights, turn lights, ect. My dome light is now broken and wont turn on when I open the doors. Most importantly the drivers side seat motor has now went out. After calling the dealership they advised me that its about $1,300. 00 to fix!!!!!!! my 4-wheel drive goes in o. K. But I have to play with it to get it out. This vehicle has never had water damage or been rode hard. Yet still problem after problem!!!!!!!.

In less than a year consumer headlight went out and the back hatch window was leaking inside the vehicle every time it rained. The headlight assembly was replaced on November 30, 2004 and five minutes after the new bulb was installed it shattered. On that same date the consumer experienced problem with the clock and hvac indicators. Updated 03/30/07.
