While driving the headlights flicker and the radio/dash lights go brighter (like they do when the headlights are off), and then the lights fail altogether. The problem seems to be happening more frequently and becoming a greater safety issue.
Headlights intermittent then go out. There are multiple technical bulletins on headlights. Lost left headlight because connectors were made of substandard material. The socked melted. Dealer wanted $800. 00 to replace the headlight. Parts and time to do it myself was about $100. 00. I do not understand why loosing headlights due to a known issue is a hard call to turn into a recall. On my way in to work this morning my right headlight went out making it 2 for 2. Headlights are a serious safety issue when it is dark. With one light out is is hard to see, in this case, the right of the road on the winding mountain road I travel in to my office. This starts as intermittent and eventually burns the connector sockets. You can do better.
The headlight bulb connector has melted on the driver side and headlight no longer turns on. Passenger side still works but will need to get replaces ASAP.

Flickering headlights and dash lights. Very dangerous as it occurs while driving in the dark. For safety reasons, I can no longer drive this vehicle at night. My local dealer will not fix free of charge since this problem, while widely known and dangerous, has not been classified as a recall. .
Replaced a headlight and within 15 min. The bulb blew out. When I checked the bulb the connector part was hot and a little melted.
Takata recall my 2014 kia Soul has been experiencing problems with the headlights turning off while in motion at night! they both begin to flicker and they turn off and just leave me with my low running lights on. This is a very serious issue its not the first time kia has been notified of this and this is a safety hazard!! this has happened to alot of people and need to be a recall.
Headlight g ooff without out warning. Very dangerous!! this has only happened while driving. Lights flick back on after . A few seconds, or up to a minute.
This is involving recall sc176 and other concerns. Car loses force while accelerating that has happen 2-3 times. As well as rattling noise under car. Also, headlights are flickering and turn off completely. Car has left me stranded once thinking it was the battery, I bought new battery and still it indicates that new battery is low 9volts. All this while driving on city streets. I have nothing to show as evidence. But I will take pictures as the lights start to flicker again. I have taken the car to kia to have a recall performed which they said they did but car is still not responding as it should. Oil change was done according to the tech. And a diagnose was also preformed and said nothing is wrong yet my car keeps flickering lights, rattling noise at times, slowing down. But nothing is wrong. Oh and the battery is still causing me problems because its not getting the support from the alternator because its still low indicator.
Tl the contact owns a 2014 kia Soul. While driving various speeds, the passenger side headlight went out. The vehicle was taken to fred beans kia of langhorne (1801 Lincoln hwy, langhorne, PA 19047, (855) 998-2259) where the contact was informed that the connector was burnt and the fuse needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and provided a case number. The failure mileage was approximately 110,000.
Headlights turning off at night while driving.
The headlights and dashboard lights start to flicker on/off several times while driving which not only presents a danger for the driver/passengers in the vehicle but approaching vehicles as well as this can be a distraction when oncoming drivers see flashing headlights and it is definitely a safety issue while operating the vehicle at night. This happens while driving, stationary, city streets, highways turning or going straight. It presents a dangerous driving situation. I listed one date that it happened but it has happened multiple times and continues to happen. Kia needs to issue a recall and fix this is as this is not a warranty issue it is a dangerous situation.
Late one night, I try to turn on my headlights on. The light would not come on and started to flicker I had to turn them off and on several times to get them on. Them a few months later my driver side head lamp did not work. I replace the bulb. Then I receive a notice from kia there my be a problem with the lights flicking. I when into the victorville kia dealership for a different recall, and ask them to check the problem with the flicker and at the time had the driver head light out and they said that they couldn't re-product the problem and they would not fix the electrical system. I had the head light replace, along with the wires, they had burn up. I just replaced by third headlight. Three (3) head lights within four (4) months.
Whether the vehicle is stationary, in motion, on a city street or a highway, the right headlight will flicker and then go out. No matter what I've done on my end, nothing has solved the issue, racking up unnecessary costs. Once in a while the headlight will stay on longer than expected but suddenly turns off, making it very dangerous while driving on pitch black roads.
Headlights: intermittent head lights on kia Soul. Had a headlight out so put in new bulb. Worked and on my way. Next morning light worked okay for about 20 minutes and went out. This has happened on both lefthand & righthand head lights. After replacing bulbs a couple time I put old ones back in with the same result. I found out this is a known problem but loosing lights does not seem to be a safety issue. Loosing lights at night is a huge safety issue. Apparently the connectors that connect the headlights to the wiring harness was made with substandard plastic and the heat of the engine warp the connectors. This seems like it should be a full blown recall. Started happening in March 2019 and continues.
The headlight connectors melt or burn out causing one or more headlights to stop working intermittently or completely while driving. This issue occurs when the vehicle is moving or stationary.
Driver side headlight went out. Replaced bulb back on and then right back off. Further looking and the adapter plug that snaps into the back of the light is burnt!.
Connector on headlight wires are burning while operating headlights and causeing both headlights to go out while on the expressway. Bulbs are burnt out but headlights will not come on until car sits for a while.
I had to get new headlights at the dealership. It is now getting ridiculous. One head light will not work. It will come on when it feels like coming on. Sometimes it comes on. Sometimes it will come on right away others times it will flicker on off and not work at all. It is dangerous because I drive home in the dark and I dnt want to get filled over. I also drive in dark roads and it makes it hard to see when only one headlight works. I am now noticing that is the working in the car not my headlights.
Engine runs dry of oil while stationary, headlight wires melt while stationary.
Headlights flicker on and off when I first turn on the headlights. There is no rhyme or reason to when it happens. It is usually fast on/off flickering. This is very dangerous and happens without warning. Most times the car is in park but I am concerned that this will become worse.
When driving the headlights will flicker and go off dome times they come back on and some times they stay off also have had the dash lights go off with it it has happened on side streets and on the highway it has happen stoped at a stop sign I have had it to the kia dealer but they can't find a thing wrong with it.
While driving the car the headlights flicker and sometimes go off randomly. This has now begun to occur while the car is also parked. This is highly dangerous while traveling at night and a huge safety risk.
Tested deficiency on multiple conditions (car moving, stationary, engine running and engine off, highway and city roads) and nothing changed the light behavior. Driver's side headlight only. Initially flickered on and off. Sometimes toggling brights on and off would help at first. This went on for about a week and a half. After light stopped working, I changed both bulbs. Light continued to flicker off and on for about a week, then died altogether. Called shawnee mission kia, in overland park, KS and spoke to service manager joe. He stated he was not personally familiar with the issue, but that some of his service department employees might be. I told him there were 132 complaints on the NHTSA website, but he told me without a recall I could not get a discount or free repair. This is a dangerous condition that could result in a driver losing all headlight function without warning. I am unable to safely operate my vehicle at night because kia will not repair their obviously defective equipment.
While driving at night, when the blinker is used, the headlights flicker and go out for a few seconds. Once you use the blinker once it will continue to do so for many minutes. This is incredibly unsafe. Upon research, it is a faulty wire that overheats the connector causing it become deformed. This is a safety issue and should be a recall ASAP.
Was driving down back country highway where there are no highway lights when my head lights would turn off for a few seconds and then back on a couple of times. Then when I thought it was okay to drive, anytime I would use my blinker, all of my interior would turn off and on. This never happened to me until recently. I wasn't hitting any bumps when it happened, just highway. I was driving my kids back home from a weekend trip so it's not like I was close to home either which made it worse. About a year ago I did have my headlight wiring worked on after my left headlight would randomly work and not work on days and it turned out to by my wire burned. Kia fixes that problem but this headlight flickering at night is extremely dangerous and after researching it looks like there are many others who have experienced the same scary scenario with no good outcome from kia. Just to add as well, I've been recieving numerous calls from kia before this trying to buy my car back because it is in high demand, but after this happened it has came across my mind that they are just trying to buy them back to prevent liability on their part for not putting a recall out on the problem before something happens to someone and/or their family.
At night headlights and dashboard goes or flickers while driving down the road. Other people got the same problem of it happening. We all get told that they can't make the problem happen so they can't fix it.
While driving the car, the headlights intermittently will dim and brighten on their own. Sometimes turning off completely. Twice the dashboard lights have gone out completely as well.
The lights in my kia Souls interior and exterior are flickering and going out completely sometimes. Very unsafe when I am already driving. Happens to my headlights and dash lights and interior roof lighting. It has also caused my lights to stay on sometimes and causes my battery to die. This has happened while the car is idle or driving or off completely when the doors are open.
Drivers side headlight flickers and will go out completely. This happens while driving or stationary, and does not depend on speed. I have replaced the headlight twice. The second time I noticed that the connector that attaches to the bulb itself is starting to melt.
The headlight socket has melted and this causes the vehicles headlight on the driver side to go out without warning. This happened once before a few months ago and then happened most recently on 6/8/2018. We had to then drive to another location to get a bulb which did give us a headlight for now. . . But it will go out without warning again as it has done many times. This happens while driving and is not only unsafe but could cause me to get a ticket since it is illegal to drive without non-functioning headlights. Online research has indicated that many people with this particular vehicle have experienced issues.
