This email provides a timeline of the events and how porpora is informing this author the payment responsibility is not kia coral springs, but the author. The cost is over $800. 00 dear mr. John porpora, thank you for providing an update concerning my vehicle. The purpose of this email is to obtain clarity regarding the needed repairs for the vehicle. Below is a summarization of events that will lead us to today's email. First, the service department conducted a 120k service on 2. 20. 21 at your location. Note, the vehicle's mileage at the time of service was around 116k. This author communicated to elizabeth fraser (fraser); a safety recall notice was published for vehicle VIN kndjx3a52f7114074. Fraser responded, "we do not have a current recall for this vehicle. " on 3. 19. 21, the vehicle was returned to your service department due to engine failure while driving after urgently pleading this matter to fraser on 3. 18. 21 to have the car inspected. After you and fraser conversed, this author was informed a safety recall was published, and our system was unavailable to confirm the initial safety recall inquiring on 2. 20. 21. After reviewing the below recall notice from this dealership's website and complaining about the car's performance, why am I being charged for the repair you mentioned to me? Sudden engine failure without any warning lights coming on. No slow down or apparent problems. Sudden engine failure in the middle of traffic in pittsburgh area causing a traffic hazard. Vehicle was in motion on a street. Found out this is the number one reported problem with this vehicle. Also issues with the kia sorento engine. Same problem? recall was issued for sorento. I feel this problem should be repaired by kia. This is a road hazard when vehicle stops in middle of traffic with no warning.

My engine failed and needs replacing but their recall doesn't specifically include my model. Even though the same engine with a turbo was included ( mine does not have a turbo) and the smaller non turbo was included! I don't seem to have a voice in this! I believe it should definitely be included in the recall! I still owe money on this car witch will cost more to fix than it is worth! they even extended the warranty on the other models but not mine!.

In 2017 while going straight on highway uphill, my vehicle suddenly started loud pinging and lost power while driving, no warning lights. I pulled over and stopped, kia towed to dealership. Said no oil in engine and engine failed. This was serviced by same dealership 2 weeks prior. Kia replaced that engine. 2019 car in being serviced and after I was told same seal is bad again and was replaced. 2020 car in being serviced and was told same seal was bad a third time. Afraid to drive car when not lubricated due to fire issue with Souls.

Update to complaint files 31 Jan, 2020. 2015 kia Soul with 72004 miles was towed to a repair facility. Upon evaluation, mechanic stated that the piston/rod had fractured and the piston was force into the head. Total engine replacement will be required as the block and heads were severely damaged. This is the exact failure mode that has been described on other kia Soul VIN numbers. Currently unable to get the actual odometer reading due to the electrical system is dead. Can provide the actual mileage when I can get the electrical system powered.

High exhaust temperatures with in the catalytic converter may cause internal engine damage to the pistons and connecting rods which will cause engine failure. The recall said that it would be free of charge if the consumer had this failure and we did. This happen in williamson county on i40.

2015 kia Soul 2. 0 l engine. Engine failure at 83,000 miles. Driving home from work the engine started ticking, within 1 mile it started knocking. I went to pull over in a safe spot off of the road. Before I could pull off the road the engine stalled. I put the vehicle in neutral and coasted off of the road. It would not restart as the engine was seized. The vehicle was towed to a kia dealership in longview texas - peltier kia. The vehicle has been well maintained with all service and oil changes performed at manufacturer specified intervals.

My car is very sluggish when I press the gas pedal it feels like my engine does not want to go, and when I'm idling I feel as if my engine will stall unless I press the gas, I have contacted kia regarding this problem and the associate I spoke with said that my vehicle has been recalled under the sc176 campaign ( this was in February 2019) it is now April 14th, and according to kia my car is not officially recalled as of yet. . Basically I feel I'm driving around in a ticking time bomb. . And according to the recall I am, the recall is due to a possible engine failure and fire . . My 2015 kia Soul only has 22,500 miles on it . . . I feel kia is ( no pun intended ) stalling regarding this highly dangerous safety recall.

Tl the contact owns a 2015 kia Soul. While driving 60 mph, the vehicle lost power and smoke appeared from the engine compartment. There were no warning indicators illuminated. A police report was not filed. A citizen extinguished the fire. There were no injuries. The vehicle was taken to jim bone kia (1255 santa rosa Ave, santa rosa, CA 95404, 707-545-7050) where it was diagnosed that the engine failed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and provided a case number to the contact. The failure mileage was approximately 80,000. The VIN was unknown.

The engine failed at 23,600 mi. I was sitting in traffic when the "oil" light came on and the engine seized up completely. Fortunately this did not happen on the highway. The kia dealership denied the powertrain warranty stating that since I did the oil changes myself the warranty was void. I paid a mechanic to replace the engine. When I took it to the shop the mechanic said they had just replaced the engine in a 2014 kia optima and where more than familiar with an engine swap on a modern kia. These cars are not safe, the government should be investigating Kia Motors for their fraudulent practices.
