1 Owners/service Manual problem of the 2016 Kia Motor Soul

Failure Date: 02/27/2020

When my car sits for hours and you crank it and drive it and come to your first complete stop while still in drive my car will surge like its going to take off. I have taken it to kia 5 times and they never find anything wrong with it. I took it to have another shop look at it and said my converter was stopped up and had to take it back to kia for warranty work. Got to kia and they found nothing wrong again but my car is still doing this! it even has smoke come out of the tail pipe when passing someone every now and then! another problem I am having is with my sunroof, it will open but not close all the way and they are refusing to replace anything on it til the motor goes all they way out but I am having to manually close it so I am basically paying more for a car that I can not use the features on!.

2 Owners/service Manual problem of the 2017 Kia Motor Soul

Failure Date: 02/20/2019

While car was in motion backing in my driveway, I was able to pull drivers handle while lock engaged and door opened while vehicle was still moving. Although I planned on opening the door as car came to a rest I was surprised how easy it was to open while car is moving, and door had done so prematurely then I expected. Concerned I tested while driving forward like 20 mph & door opens when grabbing on handle. My concern is while the vehicle is in motion one should be required to manually unlock any door before it opens. I addressed with my kia dealer and they told me this is normal that opening handle overides the lock. This would make sense to do when car is parked, not when the transmission is engaged. I have 2004 Saturn and mine doesnt do that. I understand door/lock features can vary from manufacturer to manufacturer. I can see a benefit to the handle overide feature that people could be in panic in case of fire or other danger that all they think about is the handle and stay trapped because they forget about the lock. The consumer should be allowed to decide if this is a feature they want enabled or not. Kia has told me there is nothing I can do. I feel this is a big safety concern since all you have to do is barely grab handle and door releases; dont need to pull handle all the way. If nothing else it should release after 5-10 seconds of continuous pressure while handle is in maxed out opening position to open door while transmission is in any gear other than park. And if nothing else, only the drivers door should be able to open while cars in motion while pulling on handle. Front passenger door tested and does same thing. Kia says only the rear doors should stay secure with child locks, I disagree! had another time when I was gonna be dropped off as a passenger and planned on openening door, it flew wide-open when turning in driveway and almost damaged 2 cars!.

3 Owners/service Manual problem of the 2011 Kia Motor Soul

Failure Date: 03/04/2017

Help! the horn in my kia Soul doesn't work, but it is intermittent. Sometimes it works and some times it doesn't. I noticed the problem just recently, but I think its been a problem for longer. When I use the keyless entry fob to lock the vehicle, the first click locks it, and the 2nd click sounds the horn. Sometimes the 2nd click doesn't cause the horn to beep and this is when I've noticed the horn not working when I use it manually in the vehicle. But over time, it starts working again. Its making me nervous that the horn could not work when I need it the most. I've talked to the dealership and they said they've not heard of this problem, but if one googles the internet there are all sorts of forums and videos of kia owners with the same problem. This should be investigated.

4 Owners/service Manual problem of the 2016 Kia Motor Soul

Failure Date: 12/26/2016

The 2016 kia Soul owners manual has false, misleading and incorrect information. Before purchasing this new kia Soul in 12/16 I looked through the cars owners manual. Something that caught my eye and helped sway me to purchase this car was the information in section 8 page 15 under online factory authorized manuals (u. S. . Read more...

5 Owners/service Manual problem of the 2014 Kia Motor Soul

Failure Date: 05/14/2015

The vehicle hit a tree at an unknown rate of speed. The seat belts functioned, and the air bags were deployed. The vehicle caught fire immediately or shortly thereafter. Two bystanders could not open the doors because the door locks were still engaged. They had to break the glass, manually unlock the doors, then open them - the doors functioned normally after unlocked. It is my understanding that the door locks were supposed to disengage when the airbags deployed - they did not.

6 Owners/service Manual problem of the 2013 Kia Motor Soul

Failure Date: 02/01/2014

Our 2013 kia Soul only has one manual door lock which is located on the driver door. When the temperature is below freezing, the key becomes extremely hard to turn or won't turn at all. If the key breaks while someone is attempting to open the door, there is no other lock to allow the person to enter the vehicle with a second key. This is the only car which I have known to only have one means of unlocking the doors to the vehicle, that is, the driver side door lock. The car should be required to have at least two locks so that if one person breaks the key while trying to open the lock in freezing conditions a relative can use a second lock and spare key to open the other lock.
