The contact stated that while driving at 60 mph, a loud noise was heard coming from the tires. The contact pulled the vehicle to the shoulder where it was discovered that the rear drivers side tire had blown. The contact replaced the tire however, the drivers side front tire blew out a week later. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the tire belt had failed. The tire was replaced. The tires were the original equipment. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate vehicle and tire failure mileage was 22,000.

2 Tire Blowout problem of the 2010 Kia Motor Soul

Failure Date: 03/15/2010

The contact owns a 2010 kia Soul with nexen class a premium tires, size p205/55 r/16 and dot number ae8k. The contact stated the drivers side rear tire sidewall blew out on March 15, 2010 and on June 15, 2010. The contact confirmed that the front passenger side tire also began to exhibit a blister and would potentially blow out. The contact was told by the manufacturer that nothing could be done, because the tires were not under recall. The failure mileage was 16,933 for the first blow out and 21,731 for the second.
