My rear driver side door hatch malfunctioned and had a mechanical fail as confirmed by auffenberg kia, he stated “he see’s this all the time”, in o’fallon, IL. I can not open the door from the inside or outside. Child lock is not active. Just a mechanical fail. This is not safe! what if there had been a car accident and my children needed to vacate the car! there were no warning lamps or other symptoms.

The contact owns a 2008 kia Sportage. The contact stated while inspecting under the vehicle, he noticed the subframe was corroded. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. A dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 155,000.

I was driving on the highway on a clear day with no cars around me when my sunroof exploded. The glass was defect and the manufacture isn't trying to accept responsibility. The dealership will not confirm how the denial was determined nor will they produce a formal denial letter. The biggest issue in my opinion is I don't even think kia looked at the photos because when I asked the dealership for them (because it's needed for a claim with kia consumer affairs) I was told they didn't have them. When I asked the body shop how they provided them to the dealership I was told by text. I opened a case with kia consumer affairs but they have yet to reach out to me and the case has been open for 34 days now. I was told by a different dealership they kia consumer affairs usually takes 3days to reach out.

Passenger door will only open from the outside if the door unlocks from being put in park. If I unlock from inside the car or the key fob the external passenger handle will not open the door.

2017 kia Sportage both passenger and driver rear doors will not open from neither the inside nor the outside door handles. This is a serious safety issue with my autistic son who must climb out of the car from the back seat through the front seat. There are numerous complaints from other kia owners about this same issue posted on here on the NHTSA website, and it needs to be addressed by kia.

I was driving on the highway into pennsylvania at approximately 70 mph (the speed limit) and all of a sudden my son and I hear a loud sound. It sounded like a gun shot and startled us both. I quickly looked around and above me I see a gaping hole in my panoramic sunroof and realize that my son and I are covered in shards of glass. I shut the sunroof cover immediately and call my insurance and put in a claim. I was still over 200 miles from home at this point with the threat of rain so we made our way home as safe as possible. A quick google search shows me that this is not a new issue. What if I had caused an accident because of the very loud sound? what if that accident caused a roll-over even with seat belts would my son and I have potentially become projectiles? why is this not being addressed by kia, Hyundai, and any of the other cars that offer the panoramic sunroof? is the manufacturer of these sunroofs to blame? I have only had this car for 8 weeks- I bought it brand new. It's garage kept when I'm not traveling for work. I will now be nervous every time I drive even after repair because I don't know if the manufactured sunroof will be safer or if it's the same as what I bought with the car. It's unsettling for me because I drive around 1000 miles a week for work and spend significant time in the car.

While the car was off and parked in the driveway the car caught on fire in the passenger side of the motor. The entire front part of the car was totaled.

The passenger side rear door fails to open from both inside and outside of the vehicle. This happened unexpectedly and without provocation. There are numerous filed complaints siting this very same issue on the NHTSA. Gov website and should be investigated.

The car caught fire after being driven. As soon as it was parked it started smoking and within minutes it was engulfed in flames and totally destroyed.

When turning on the vehicle it sounds like someone is pushing on the gas pedal . Sometime the start up and some times it doesn�t. Now all the interior lights went out and also the brake lights and the regular lights are not working . They just stop.

My kia Sportage was parked in front of a garage was not turned on and was in park when the engine suddenly caught fire it sounded like a loud bomb. The front of the vehicle was destroyed the vehicle was not salvageable.

Both second row (passenger) windows no longer open.

Blind spot. Numerous times the driver mirror is large and close to the window /door frame causing a huge blind spot as to where I've almost hit people crossing in a crosswalk, mostly by making a left turn.

Wife herd a loud pop noise out side 7 am Sunday look out side did not see any problem. We were getting ready to leave for church went to warm up car and I noticed some glass and found that the panoramic glass was shattered. Car is kept under car port. . I am aware that some of these cars have windows explode.

� my 07 Sportage had developed a mysterious creak noise when accelerating from a stop and going over batches and bumps(which I ignored). This progressed into a rather loud clunk going over bumps that you could also feel in the floorboards. This prompted me to take a look see as to the source of the noise. Turns out, the source of the noise was due to the rear chassis crossmember that mounts the upper trailing arms for the rear axle assembly had rotten clean through and the mounting arm on the right side had broken free. Here you can see the remnants of the crossmember and mounting bracket still bolted to the rear axle assembly; the damage was across the entire crossmember including the fuel tank mount and note the left side trailing arm mount was not too far away from breaking off as well. The frame was also rotted down by the right rear lower trailing arm mount. This particular vehicle had a recall about 3 years ago for undercoating, I took it to the kia dealer in yonkers, new york and I am sure they saw this rotten damage and did nothing about it putting my family and myself in danger. I could have got into an accident with devastating consequences. It looks like the frame and components are of cheap quality.

With 60,700 miles, the driver's side rear door locks and unlocks, but will not open. Dealership stated I was over warranty by 700 miles. I explained that I thought this should be treated as a safety issue as if the vehicle is in an accident on the passenger side, rear occupants can not exit the vehicle on driver's side.

I previously complained of repeated stuck accelerator pedal. At 179,510 miles accelerator pedal began twisting out of its standard position. An inspection revealed the bolt securing the accelerator pedal and the threaded hole in floor cracked and separated from the floor.

Interior door panels expanded due to weather (heat in California) and doors cannot be pulled open. In the event of a collision, passengers would not be able to get out of the car due to the expanded interior door panels.

Front driver handle do not open the car. If you lock the car and unlock, you can not open driver door from outside. I tried door adjustment and didn't work. It could be open from inside. The car is 2 years old. It is safety hazard since the door could not be open from outside.

Right rear passenger door can not be opened from inside or outside the vehicle. Problem noticed at about 55,000 miles. Dealer has been unable to open door. Currently 56,600 miles on vehicle. 'parts on order' for the first problem like this they have seen.

Back in may of this year, I heard of a recall for gas tank straps on my car - so called kia and they said tank straps had been recalled and corrosion protection (undercoating) was also a remedy that was covered by the recall. I arranged recall service at closest dealer (1 1/2 hours away) who ordered the tank straps for me. Unfortunately, once at the dealership, the service tech said that he could not replace the straps because he was concerned that the gas tank "would fall apart due to corrosion along the welded seam of the tank" a common problem known to kia. Because the tech did not have a new tank in stock, I asked him if he could get one from a junk yard, he said that such a used tank "would likely have the same problem. " I have been trying to get kia to replace the straps and tank at their expense and to follow-up with undercoating as they are obligated to do - for months! I have called kia consumer affairs and kia America management in irvine CA multiple times over the past months. The only response I have had thus far was from jessica weaver of kia's consumer affairs dept (520 772 4714) ms weaver has repeatedly requested that I give her more time and she repeatedly fails to follow-through on her commitments to call back. My latest contact from her was two weeks ago where she again requested more time (five days) to resolve the issue - - I again never heard back from ms weaver. What ms weaver has conveyed to me is that the regional parts and service manager needs to approve the repair and review the photos that were taken of the gas tank . . . And she cannot get to him. I have repeatedly responded that there must be someone at kia who can approve the repair. My sense is that this poor woman has been told to jerk me around until I give up . . . This will not happen. Tl-the contact owns 2011 kia Sportage. The contact stated that the transmission gear shift is stuck and will not move . The contact had to hit the gear shift button in order for it to work. The radio went bad and will not work. The key was stuck in the ignition. The contact had to hit the key with a screw driver in order for it to loosen up. No warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was not towed. The dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware. The failure mileage was 168,128. Jw.

I was on the highway- driving under a underpass. The screen to the panoramic roof was back but the sunroof itself was closed- there was a loud noise and the glass to the moving part of the sunroof shattered falling into the car. All that remained was a small glass outline around the perimeter of the roof.

The vehicle was taken to arapahoe kia 9701 e arapahoe rd, centennial, CO 80112 where they stated that the vehicle had no open recalls. The manufacturer was contacted and made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 15,000. Am.

Engine seized while on expressway. Mileage 58k. Change oil 30 days ago. New battery. Call for recall since 2007. Dealer kia in bayamon pr, replied there was no a recall. Just a note but nothing for pr. Called kia and said my VIN # is not on that recall. Pr is not included on dealers to change engines like all othery states. Please verify and investigate.

My car was parked at my residence. All doors were unlocked. I proceeded to pull the right rear passenger door handle and it came off of the door. This small pulling action and the detachment of the door handle caused me to fall on my rear end. The fall caused bruising to my buttocks and back.

I was involved in a head on collision, resulting in my SUV being totaled. I was stationary in the double turning lane of a city street. The engine block was pushed nearly into the driver's seat. Front windshield cracked from end to end, heavy front end damage. The vehicle that hit me was doing about 45-50mph and her airbags did deploy although she had side impact/damage. My airbags never deployed. I have a concussion resulting in memory loss and painful swelling behind my eye. I am also being treated for multiple back injuries. My 17m old was in the vehicle as well but was in his rear facing car seat, not yet showing any signs of injury.

My husband and I were driving our 2016 kia Sportage that we had bought on 05/23/2018 (just made the first payment the day before) to myrtle beach SC, we heard a pop, I lost function to the gas, pulled to the side of the road and popped the hood to find fire flames coming from the engine. We grabbed what we could out of our car and ran as far away as we could. It wasn't even 2 minutes later and the whole car was in flames and everything was destroyed. All that was left was the frame of the car. We just got married in October of 2017, this was our first married purchase and was suppose to be our family car and we watched it burn to the ground in front of us. We also lost a lot of valuables in the fire.

Rusted out rocker panel due to having a recall with the underside coating . Kinda guessing when I took my car to do the underside at the century 3 kia dealership.

The contact stated that the vehicle had a undercoating procedure on a voluntary basis and there was now corrosion on the frame and the vehicle would not pass inspection. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer fred bean's kia of mechanicsburg 6302 carlisle pike, mechanicsburg, PA 17050 who verified the corrosion and the fact it would not pass inspection. And the vehicle was un repairable. The contact called the manufacturer who said they would callback to see if the contact would be able to get another vehicle. The failure mileage was 99,700. Tf.

My car has been taken care of very well. There has been no misuse or abuse. Now, I have had 2 door handles break off. Every time, I received a jolt backwards. The car was stationary. I am a 59 years old, last person to get into my car was my 92 year old father, who is very frail and unstable on his feet. I thank god, it was me who was the victim when the door handles broke off, my father would have fallen backwards, and could have fallen and died. This happened twice, both to the passenger side. I am now afraid to even open the other door handles. If I lose them, I have to get in from the trunk, and climb over. I have been in contact with both grieco kia in delray and the corporate office. They just keep saying the car is out of warranty, as it is older. I don't have the money to pay to fix these handles. I do not think a door handle should ever break off. Please note there are videos with thousands, of viewers watching how to fix a broken car handle. This means it has happened to thousands of people. Kia should pay for it. They refuse to take any accountability.

While driving approx. 60 mph on a freeway, we heard a load "bang" noise from the roof above us. We had not seen any projectile flying towards us prior to the noise. We found out when we stopped to look that the tinted glass piece that stretches across the width of the car and is located in front of the sunroof, had shattered all the way across the car from one side to the other. It looks like a jagged crevice after an earthquake.

While driving on the interstate, the kia started to smoke then flames appeared. In about five minutes the entire car was engulfed in flames.
