I noted that the rear spoiler consists of two main parts that are fastened together, however over time the two sections become separated. There does appear to be a current recall noted for this issue, however in the dealers initial notification it was indicated they would follow up with additional communication when they received the necessary parts for repair. Am concerned that the part could come off at any time while on the highway.

The driver door latch: there has been a handful of incidents where the door does not get full closed and I assume the system has a malfunction because then the door does not latch to vehicle as if the latch locks assuming vehicle had been closed. Therefore to close the door it has to be forcefully slammed to shut.

When I turned my car on in the morning the stereo was not working and you could hear crackling. I then was dropping my son off at school and we were going slow because we were in the school zone. Maybe 5-10 mph I smelled smoke and then looked back and saw smoke coming from inside the car where the reading light is in the back. I had to park my truck at my dads car because I did not feel safe driving it. I googled and found that a lot of range rover have a faulty sunroof to where water leaks causing electrical damage. This was also what the range rover specialist told me he has seen happen. My truck model however has yet to be recalled. But there are other models that have been recalled for this sunroof issue. It is clearly something Land Rover vehicles have an issue with. I am out of warranty just a month ago. When I went yesterday to my dads house to get something out of my truck it was covered in mold. This is because there is so much water that seeped through the sides of the car. You can tell because the mold was coming from the seatbelt holes and such.
I received recall notice n336 in July. My passenger rear door has swung open in traffic 4 different times as I am making right hand turns in busy intersections!!!! I have contacted landrover and local dealership to try to get it fixed but they say they do not have the parts to fix the problem yet. It has been 6 weeks since the recall notice was issued. That should be plenty of time!! this is a huge safety risk and it continues to happen!!!!.
Tl- the contact owns a 2016 Land Rover rr sport nas petrol. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number:19v390000 (latches/locks/linkages) however, the parts to do the repair were unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair as the recall notice was received over a year ago. The dealer Land Rover charlotte 6940 e independence blvd, charlotte, nc 28227 (704) 536-4270 was contacted and confirmed that the parts were not available for the recall remedy. The manufacturer was not contacted. The contact had not experienced a failure. VIN tools confirm parts not available. Ck.
The 2018 Range Rover Sport has no failsafe in the soft close door mechanism; I found this out the hard way. As long as the latch catches, the soft close will engage. I was exiting my stationary vehicle when a gust of wind hit the door. My hand was still on the edge of the door when the latch for the soft close hit. My thumb was crushed between the door and the frame. I forced my thumb out while the door continued to tighten until fully closed. It's been nearly a month and my thumb is still purple. If the car would have sensed my thumb in between the door and frame, and stopped the soft close, I could have easily removed my finger with no injury. Instead, I spent the next 2 hours at the emergency room. I have images of the injury and a video demonstrating the safety issue. I am paranoid getting in and out of my range rover after what happened to me and I am very concerned for the safety of others (especially young children. ) I have already taken my car into the dealership and spoken to the manufacturer. They told me that they have no rejection mechanism on soft close doors because it is not a federal regulation. I also learned that the head mechanic at the shop experienced a very similar injury while working on a car with soft close doors. I would like to discuss a product recall or a new regulation. For example, the door sill of cars equipped with soft close could require a warning sticker or the soft close mechanisms could even require a rejection mechanism. I am not the only person with this issue and Land Rover is not the only manufacturer that has this feature. Our mercedes has a similar option that has no safety mechanism and a lady is suing BMW because she almost lost her finger to a BMW soft close door. I don't want anybody to go through the pain that I felt or get more severely injured. Thank you, andrew shehata.

I was driving on the highway at 65 miles per hour and all of a sudden the rear roof spoiler flew off and hit the car behind me. After doing some research I found this problem to be common. I was surprised to see that there was no recal for it as it is a very serious hazard to all drivers near when it happens. If the weather was bad it could have caused a deadly accident.

Drivers side door came open and would not stay closed. Took vehicle into dealer who identified faulty door latch. I researched issue and learned that there had been a recall back in 2015 on the door latch for the same make/model and year of vehicle. I contacted range rover and they said my car was not included in the recall.
Door latch failure. Driver door latch failed and was replaced in October 2018. We requested change of all latches as there is a recall issued on door latch failure. Range rover denied and said the other latches will not fail. Our passenger front latch failed and the door had to be held closed by hand to drive in Jan 2019. Requested range rover to replace all door latches again and they refused to replace rear latches as they have not yet failed. To avoid compromising safety of our children, we are paying out of pocket to replace those latches. Land rover north America repeatedly refused our request despite talking to multiple case managers and a supervisor.
I have taken the vehicle in 6 times for the rear electric lift gate opening randomly on highway and roads. I have had items fall out that could have created an accident. It is know that Land Rover has issues with doors opening and I now am including the lift gate. The issue has not been resolved.
Occurs only by driver :passenger side front door came open in motion in parking llot and failed to close/ latch on 5/27/2018 . Had a similar occurrence in October of 2017 either the drivers side door while in motion exiting garage. Vehicle at service now , Land Rover farmington hill. (no document on this service will forward ) document attached for oct 2017 warranty repair!.
There is a recall for the spoiler detaching from the car as of 11/20/2020 however this happened to my vehicle in sept 2017 and I had to pay for the repair as the dealer refused to. Am I eligible to be reimbursed for this now.
I purchased a 2017 Range Rover Sport hse in may 2017. In July 2017, we had a severe storm and I noticed that I had leaking inside my back passenger side door. I returned my vehicle to the dealership and it said that there is nothing they can do to fix the problem because it is due to the design of the vehicle. The dealer told me to let dirt build up on my car and maybe the dirt particle would divert the water the other day, I was washing my vehicle and when I hosed the back door area in addition to water getting inside my vehicle again, it also caused my door to continuously lock and unlock. It was as if hosing my car was causing an electrical shortage. I was afraid my vehicle was going to catch on fire. I contacted range rover of north America in addition to the dealership and range rover, north America told me they would not do anything to repair my vehicle.

At 55 mph traveling on GA highway 17, the rear spoiler spontaneously detached from the frame. A piece of the spoiler surrounding the rear camera sheared from the bulk of the spoiler and was left dangling from the automobile. I was able to find the spoiler in a ditch fortunately not being hit by vehicles behind me. I called Land Rover of hilton head, spoke with, and drove the auto to the service manager, thomas. He told me that he had never seen or heard of this and it must have been my fault for bumping the rear window on a garage door ( note no marks noted as reflected in later note from same dealership). (also note the spoiler and rear camera are mounted much lower than the rear window when open and thus not susceptible to alleged cause. Multiple calls to dayna, customer service representative at Land Rover n. A. No resolution. Return trip to service department with another service person revealed his findings, included and attached. He stated this was not uncommon and showed me a report from another vehicle 3-4 months previous at the same dealership. Please note that on other vehicles including mercedes 2016 e series recalls for similar problems for inspection and replacement. The service department has neglected the seriousness of this issue. Had anyone been following me, a serious accident could have occurred, especially with a motorcycle. Resulting damage and possible deaths would then have been directed toward me personally and Land Rover of n. A. I have include multiple communications, names, pictures, etc to show the inherent danger in the admitted failed adhesive problem. Simply reading the second service persons evaluation shows their knowledge of this danger. I have multiple phone calls and three emails to further document. I believe immediate action should be taken on these spoilers to prevent potential deaths.
I have an id number 10984367 but believe the documents were not uploaded. These are important documents recognizing hilton head Land Rover was aware of other rear spoiler detachments other than mine. Please note service manager denied ever having heard or seen of this but service advisor bob robertson said he had just seen it a few months before. I have enclosed the document stating adhesive failure. This is extremely dangerous. I have attempted to handle this through Land Rover na and the dealership but have had no results. I believe this poses a danger to the public if left unchecked.
The contact owns a 2011 Land Rover Range Rover Sport. The contact stated that the vehicle had been flooded from the driver's side, passenger’s side and the sunroof. The contact stated that there was water running throughout the vehicle. The vehicle had an abnormal odor. The contact called the local dealer and the contact was informed that the vehicle was not covered under warranty. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 46,000.
Passenger side dash is splitting on top over the air bag bracket, 3 separate splits. I am concerned air bag will deploy while driving and cause serious injury or death to front passenger.
