2 Engine And Engine Cooling problem of the 2012 Land Rover Range Rover Sport

Failure Date: 08/01/2025

Had a recall. I wasn't available on the date or a week or so after the appointment date. An ex of mine that had no authority to take my range rover into the dealership for the recall to get fixed, used my driver's license to get a rental Land Rover to use while my range rover was supposedly being fixed for the leaking fuel tank recall. So, Land Rover didn't care that it wasn't me getting to drive a $70,000 Land Rover while mine was getting fixed for recall. I figure out what happened & where my vehicle was & got the rental back to me in order to go get my vehicle back. I got to take it home,2 days later transmission messed up wouldn't shift out of park, started over heating,& I had to pull it with a rope from the store back home to park it. When I looked under the vehicle cause I was trying to figure out why it was majorly overheating, I then realized the gas was just pouring out near the transmission pan, which is where the fuel line runs from the top of the gas tank. My recall was for the fuel tank leaking originally. Now, Land Rover refuses to fix this major safety hazard/defect, stating that the gas pouring out doesn't stem from the recall. Which is complete bullshit! nothing was wrong with my vehicle when I bought it only a few months before I received the notice about the recall. Now, I can't drive it & it's sitting at the dealership that did the recall & didn't fix it. They towed it 2 days ago to their shop & called me the next day saying that the fuel pouring out & overheating doesn't have anything to do with recall or what they've done. Which is a lie. So, now my car is sitting up at the dealership off of dfw airport & they are expecting me to pay to get it towed back home & that they aren't going to fix my vehicle that they have totally destroyed. I can't get anyone to talk to me or return my calls. I can't get anyone to help me with this. They just hang up or give me a hard time about it & are denying what they have caused for my vehicle. Please help me!.

3 Engine And Engine Cooling problem of the 2024 Land Rover Range Rover Sport

Failure Date: 07/27/2025

On 27 July 2025, my 2024 Range Rover Sport, suffered a sudden and catastrophic engine fire while driving shortly after an overheating warning appeared. This occurred approximately two weeks after routine maintenance at a Land Rover dealership. My VIN is not listed in the current recall range, but the defect, symptoms, and safety hazard are identical to vehicles included. This strongly suggests either: 1. Incomplete VIN capture in the recall scope, or 2. A related but unaddressed defect with the same catastrophic consequences. The fire completely disabled the vehicle, placed my safety at extreme risk, and caused total loss. Given the life-threatening nature of this defect, I request NHTSA investigate * expand recall n908 to include my VIN and any similarly affected units, and * require Land Rover to remedy and compensate impacted owners.

4 Engine And Engine Cooling problem of the 2023 Land Rover Range Rover Sport

Failure Date: 07/07/2025

My vehicle lags using the accelerator. If you press the gas it taskes 10 seconds for the vehicle to begin moving unless you give it around 40% accelerator then it jumps uncontrollably forward. This happens everyday. I drive this vehicle constantly and the more I drive it the worse it gets. I feel the electric traction motor doesn't engage because of any number of reasons. I bring it to the shop and they charge the battery. After that it works fine for a few days then begins again.

5 Engine And Engine Cooling problem of the 2022 Land Rover Range Rover Sport

Failure Date: 06/13/2025

Oil leak and coolant leak took it to dealership while under warranty and they claimed no issues even though I saw the stains on my garage floor and had gear shift issues and black out info camera as well. Car under 70k miles and not end of warranty date but is the end of warranty mileage. Didn’t feel safe on the freeway, had power loss when it was time to restart the car and had smoke under the hood which may result in a fire in the engine compartment that could spread throughout the vehicle. This issue has led to power loss and difficulty controlling the vehicle, increasing the risk of accidents.

6 Engine And Engine Cooling problem of the 2022 Land Rover Range Rover Sport

Failure Date: 06/08/2025

VIN# [xxx] I reported complaints during all of my routine oil changes that I had a coolant leak and it smelled like something was burning under my hood. I also told them that I had coolant on my garage floor and that my gears were stalling on my vehicle. I reported these issues when my car had under 10,000 miles and again at the 20,000 mile range. They stated they saw no issues or related recalls. I believe I was intentionally lied to because my car was under warranty at the time and they didn’t want to address the issues. I asked for them to check again prior to the expiration of the factory warranty they said they found nothing. I now have 69k miles and the issues that I’m experiencing surely didn’t happen over night/ recently when my oil change light came on another light came on as well. I asked the dealership to look into it but they refused unless I paid $265. I went to another repair shop and the identified several issues (codes) pcm issues that would explain the issues that I reported over the years and none of the recalls were looked into. I purchased my car new during covid and did not have a lot of face to face contact so I thought I purchased the extended warranty and now realize that I did not. I have reported these issues well before the end of the warranty period and believe that my car should be inspected immediately because I now fear for my safety and the safety of my family. I now have the following codes showing on my vehicle: engine p00b0-49 June 7, 2025 11:16 am p3498-86 p2170-11 p21a0-84 p21a1-84 p219f-84 u0080-87 p26cb-72 turbocharger/supercharger boost control b module performance internal electronic failure cylinder 1 deactivation performance signal invalid exhaust pressure regulator vent solenoid control - circuit low circuit short to ground cylinder 5 air-fuel ratio imbalance signal below allowable range cylinder 6 air-fuel ratio imbalance signal below allowable range cylinder 4 air-fuel ratio imbalance signal below allowab information redacted pursuant to the freedom of informatio.

7 Engine And Engine Cooling problem of the 2022 Land Rover Range Rover Sport

Failure Date: 06/07/2025

I reported issues with my car stalling, front and rear camera going blank and smoking under my hood, in addition leaking coolant. I immediately requested for the dealership to inspect the vehicle and I smelled coolant and saw the coolant on my garage floor the dealership stated they did not find anything. This occurred during my first oil change at around 6,000 miles. It happed again at the second one as well. I had the same issue when I got my oil changed amongst other issues no issues detected. I went to the dealership to get an oil change and the code p00b0-49 was showing the dealership asked if I wanted to pay $265 to diagnose the vehicle I stated I would not because these issues didn’t happen overnight and there could be potential recalls not addressed when they should have been.

8 Engine And Engine Cooling problem of the 2018 Land Rover Range Rover Sport

Failure Date: 05/28/2025

I am writing to formally file a complaint regarding a prolonged and troubling service experience at Jaguar Land Rover buckhead, related to my 2018 Range Rover Sport (approximately 49,000 miles), and to express dissatisfaction with the handling of a prior related incident. My vehicle has been the dealership approx. 2 weeks with no loaner and me missing days from work and not able to transport my children to school. For past context, in 2023, I experienced a faulty ground stud issue that left me stranded on the highway during my morning commute. I later learned this exact issue had been subject to a recall on the discovery model — but not on mine — despite identical symptoms. As a result, I was issued a $675 owner loyalty certificate (olc) by molly b. Of Land Rover USA, which I appreciated, but which I believe did not fully compensate for the risk and inconvenience caused. Recently, I returned to the another dealer, Jaguar Land Rover buckhead, in may 2025 for a new issue. I was told there was a broken exhaust bolt that delayed repairs. I specifically asked the service advisor if I was responsible for the bolt breaking during service and was told I was not, though it was framed as a “common issue” across many vehicles. I respectfully disagreed, noting I’ve owned multiple vehicles with higher mileage and never encountered such a failure. I also suggested that if this is so common, it may reflect a design flaw that Land Rover should address. Additionally, I was misled by the service advisor, cole eidson, who sent me a message on Tuesday, may 28th, stating the bolt was already removed and the exhaust installation was underway. I later discovered this was not true, and that the bolt had not yet been extracted at the time of that message. This misrepresentation caused unnecessary confusion, delay, and loss of trust. This pattern — first with the unresolved ground stud failure, then with misinformation about repairs and unexplained delays — leaves me deeply disappointed with.

10 Engine And Engine Cooling problem of the 2016 Land Rover Range Rover Sport

Failure Date: 04/13/2025

On 4/13/2025 as my husband and I were exiting the zoom express car wash, vehicle accelerated as I shifted from neutral to drive. As shown in the footage, I was unable to brake and stop the vehicle. After attempting to brake several times, my husband shifted the gear shift from drive to neutral and the vehicle rolled to a complete stop. The impact of hitting two barriers, two curbs and ditch caused back injury. Germain Land Rover was unable to reproduce the malfunction due to the vehicle was inoperable. Germain Land Rover was unable to identify any failures. The vehicle's alarm engaged as we were going through the car wash. Please provide an email to forward the accident footage I received from zoom express car wash.

12 Engine And Engine Cooling problem of the 2018 Land Rover Range Rover Sport

Failure Date: 03/07/2025

Driving on interstate the coolant level low light went off and started blowing hot steam from underneath the hood the hood. Running 70 on the interstate and now couldn’t see due to the steam. I luckily maneuvered out of traffic and limped to exit. Very easily could have been a 10 car pile up. Got the car to a mechanic and it had a plastic quick connect on a hose break. There are no metal clamps as backup and the mechanic said that these run on very high water pressure and those plastic quick connect clamps are huge problems because they can’t hold the pressure with the slightest defect and there are no metal clamps to securely hold. I had the hose replaced. Speak to any Land Rover mechanic and you will immediately learn how many problems people are having with this issue. Seeing how many claims are made around the cooling system, plastic quick connectors, main hose under the supercharger causing so many issues with no warning, I pray someone looks in to this issue and makes Land Rover fix these issues. It is truly a miracle this did not cause a major accident.

13 Engine And Engine Cooling problem of the 2020 Land Rover Range Rover Sport

14 Engine And Engine Cooling problem of the 2018 Land Rover Range Rover Sport

Failure Date: 02/16/2025

My brother in law was driving my 2018 range rover (with only 47,000 miles) on the busy highway. Without any warning, the car lost power. He was able to swerve into breakdown lane (thankful he was in right lane). The car was smoking so badly he thought the car was going to explode into fire so he and his wife evacuated the car and sat a safe distance away. Car was towed to the range rover dealer where it was diagnosed. We were told the coolant manifold pipes under the supercharger ruptured causing what they believed was a catastrophic engine failure. We just joined a class action lawsuit over this issue alleging range rover has known about this dangerous situation in many of their cars for many years but they continue to market and sell the cars as "safe vehicles" without recalling the defective parts.

The contact owns a 2016 Land Rover Range Rover Sport. The contact stated that coolant began to leak from the engine without warning. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where a leak was discovered in all of the hoses connected to the radiator. The contact had the vehicle repaired by the mechanic. Approximately a year later, the "low engine coolant" warning message appeared on the instrument panel. The contact pulled over and discovered coolant pouring out of the engine. The vehicle was towed to another independent mechanic where the contact was informed that the expansion tank was defective and needed to be replaced. Once the mechanic began working on the vehicle, he also discovered a leak in the radiator and a defective thermostat. The contact was informed by the mechanic that there was a recall(recall unknown) placed on the vehicle; however, the contact's vehicle was not included. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA hotline to file a complaint. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 96,000.

17 Engine And Engine Cooling problem of the 2018 Land Rover Range Rover Sport

Failure Date: 12/08/2024

In February 2024, my car overheated. There was a large coolant leak in valley from the water pump and outlet pipes and a secondary leak from rear crossover pipe as well. The water pump, water valve, and cooling hoses were replaced, as well as the failed outlet pip and cooling hoses. Coolant soaked belts were also replaced. In August 2024, my car overheated again. This time, while I was driving in the middle of the freeway. When I took it back, there was another leak from one of the cooling hoses, so it was replaced again. Just last week, my car overheated again. Again, it was another leaking component that was fixed under warranty. The auto shop I took it to reached out to the dealer, as it's been an issue well known for failure.

18 Engine And Engine Cooling problem of the 2020 Land Rover Range Rover Sport

Failure Date: 12/05/2024

Vehicle safety and functionality concerns: 1. Steering issues: steering remains uncentered and unresponsive despite new tires and alignment at the dealership. Excessive steering margin, particularly dangerous in rainy conditions, leading to steering errors. 2. As the new generation Range Rover Sport in 2020, it has dual exhaust pipes, but only one side works. The dealer just said it was normal, but it is visually estimated that it will cause serious environmental pollution. 3. Lane keeping assistance malfunction: the feature is almost non-functional, failing to keep the vehicle in its lane even under clear weather and road conditions. 4. Self-closing door hazard: doors lack anti-pinch sensors, causing multiple finger injuries to family members, including a severe incident where a finger was pinched off. This poses a severe safety risk, especially for children.

19 Engine And Engine Cooling problem of the 2017 Land Rover Range Rover Sport

Failure Date: 11/29/2024

I was informed by hennessey Land Rover that there is a "y" alen pipe in the coolant system that will most likely fail around 50,000 to 60,000 miles. The "y" piece is two pieces of pipe sandwiched together verses one solid piece. They are telling me that once the pipe fails all of the coolant will escape the engine block and will most likely seize the engine. They are not covering the cost to do the repair, around $4500. 00, and I find this unacceptable because they build the coolant system with a piece they know is faulty.

23 Engine And Engine Cooling problem of the 2018 Land Rover Range Rover Sport

Failure Date: 09/28/2024

Engine failed at 43k miles. Rr would not take apart engine to identify failure. Local rr repair shop (elite rovers) claims they see 3-4 dead rr engines per week usually between 60k-80k miles. He thinks it’s a coolant component failure that damages the engine. This many failures per week is not normal. There seems to be a class action lawsuit over engine failure in the uk and australia—so this is not a small problem. My husband was driving the car when it happened and if on the freeway could have been seriously hurt. No warning, no engine light, no leaks…. Just locked up and died. 6 months later my neighbors rr engine also locked up and died. There are 6 dead engine rr at the dealer right now that people are abandoning because the cost to put a new engine in costs more than the value of the car or there are no engines available. Who can make jlr (manufacturer) take responsibility for this known issue that they are playing as if they dont know?.

My vehicle as well received an electric fault message shortly before loosing all electrical power. When I say all I mean all as if someone removed the battery from the car. The issue that was described to me from the service department was the low voltage (12v) to high voltage (48v) I think DC to DC converter shorted out. They said this was the first device after the battery and contained all the battery saftey circuits. It allowed the lifo battery to reach zero volts and they didn't replace the battery afterwards. When this happened I lost all power steering, lights, ability to use the roadside assistance.

I got aaa to tow my vehicle into the Land Rover dealership/maintenance repair shop. The repair specialist I’m assigned to (sam haidary) at the Land Rover location in freeport, long island NY, told me that the fire issue with the vehicle didn’t come from the alternator or the weak battery, so I did some research online because I personally know someone that went through this same issue (I.
