1 Other Fuel System problem of the 2012 Land Rover Range Rover Sport

Failure Date: 03/20/2026

The Jaguar range rover dealership refused to fix the safety recall on my 2012 range rover. My car had been at the dealership jlr midlothian va since March 20,2026. They stated that there was no loaner car until April 13, 2026, possibly. Brian was the senior advisor sharing the information. I rented a car from hertz rental in fredericksburg va for the initial date appt of March 13, 2026. I had a family emergency and informed brian. On April 20, 2026 I visited the dealership to learn the status of fixing the recall issue of of fuel flange to be told by jeff that mike the service manager refused to correct and replace the safety recall part. Barian who initially did intake on March 13th was not on active duty recall and the case was sent to another advisor josh, josh was not in the day of April 20,2026. Josh telephoned me the next day stating the same that my car was not repaired not would it be according to service manager mike. They have had my car for 30 days and never told me ethat information before. I have been charged over $800 in rental fees that I had asked the manufacturer/and or dealership since they could not give me a car while my car is in their possession. Please help me I still have this rental car as of April 24, 2026 and on for transportation. . My car was drive able. It was running hot so I had the car towed to the dealership.

5 Other Fuel System problem of the 2020 Land Rover Range Rover Sport

Failure Date: 02/23/2026

Fuel supply line from fuel tank at the engine is leaking on top of the valve cover causing a fire hazzard. The part is not available from the dealership as they said it is on national backorder this line is not damaged in any way and should not be leaking. This needs to be a recall and not the responibility of the customer. The part number from the dealer is lr140080.

6 Other Fuel System problem of the 2012 Land Rover Range Rover Sport

Failure Date: 02/17/2026

Vehicle: 2012 Range Rover Sport supercharged (VIN: [xxx] ) recall campaign: n623 / NHTSA 21v635 incident description: in October 2025 I had a recall repair done at Land Rover annapolis. I picked up my vehicle from Land Rover annapolis after the n623 fuel outlet flange recall was performed. Immediately after service, while driving in a live lane of traffic, the vehicle unexpectedly stalled, resulting in a complete loss of motive power.   the dashboard fuel gauge falsely indicated 55 miles of remaining range, but the vehicle had actually run out of fuel. This indicates that the fuel sending unit/float assembly was improperly reinstalled or damaged during the recall service, creating a secondary safety defect.   I figured it would calibrate and fix itself. When the dealer reached out after my service appointment I made them aware of the issue. No one contacted me. I contacted Land Rover corporate when it continued to happen and was told to bring it back to the certified repair location. The dealership took 16 mins to look at my vehicle and deem the engine bad. Give a ballpark quote of 20000 to 30000 dollars to replace the engine. Despite this life-safety event, the dealership refused to pull stored diagnostic trouble codes (dtcs) and is attempting to deflect liability by blaming a pre-existing minor coolant leak that never triggered an overheat warning. I am reporting a failure of the recall remedy and requesting an investigation into the dealership's refusal to diagnose consequential damage (high-pressure fuel pump failure) caused by the botched safety when I brought up the fact that they should have diagnosed the codes already he offered to have them run it for free tomorrow like he was doing me some kind of favor. When I said did I disagreed with the findings based on the fact that there was no evidence of it being the engine overheating due to cool it he replied that maybe I needed a second opinion and it needed to be off of their lot by Friday. 7 Other Fuel System problem of the 2021 Land Rover Range Rover Sport

Failure Date: 02/03/2026

I took my car in for an oil change, and they noticed a faint fuel smell (which I had noticed as well). I had them look deeper and the found a small fuel leak, requiring part lr140080 to repair. This part is worldwide back ordered from Land Rover. When I ordered at the range rover dealership they noted 146 people in front of me with no eta in sight. The representative advised that the car was not safe to drive and they have a car at the dealership that has been waiting since November? unacceptable. How can there be no recall if this is a known issue? the dealership noted that any fuel related issue has safety implications (fire, etc) I had a check engine light on which has since gone away. The shop ran a test and noted that the car was running in "lean" mode due to this part issue. Please advise when able, this should be a safety recall [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

8 Other Fuel System problem of the 2022 Land Rover Range Rover Sport

Failure Date: 12/29/2025

As I was driving my vehicle to my residence, the car lost all power. The engine remained ‘on’, and the engine revved if I pushed the gas pedal, but there was zero acceleration. Fortunately I was able to maneuver/coast to a side street and stop my vehicle safely. I also felt fortunate that no car was following closely behind me which could have created a potential rear-end collision threat. I had very little warning that anything was wrong with the car. Approximately 20 minutes prior to the vehicle losing all power, I was driving to a store and parking in its parking lot. The vehicle warned me to not turn it off and the instrument panel showed a warning of ‘electrical fault detected’. Because the car gave me the message to not turn it off, I decided to drive home. I had no idea the car would suddenly lose all power. I still do not know what ‘elctrical fault detected’ means. When I tried to investigate this fault, I was surprised to see that Land Rover Range Rover Sport models from 2023 and 2024 were recalled for this problem. My vehicle is a 2022, and I did not receive a recall notice.

9 Other Fuel System problem of the 2012 Land Rover Range Rover Sport

Failure Date: 12/14/2025

I received Land Rover's notice oct. 7, 2021 regarding the gasoline fuel tank flange assembly cracking. They stated "once we have adequate supply of the necessary parts, we will notify you via a second letter requesting that you contact your preferred authorized Land Rover retailer. . . . Etc. . Under program code 'n623' " I have still been waiting for this to be resolved. I emailed them again on 12/9/2025 after I got the alert from NHTSA and have not heard back.

10 Other Fuel System problem of the 2016 Land Rover Range Rover Sport

Failure Date: 12/01/2025

The diesel exhaust fluid system on my 2016 Range Rover Sport has a recurring defect that triggers the warning “incorrect diesel exhaust fluid quality detected” followed by a “no engine starts in xx miles” countdown. This defect has happened repeatedly over several years despite multiple repairs including injector replacement, injector housing replacement and eventually a complete def tank assembly replacement. The failure always returns. This defect disables the vehicle and creates a safety risk because the car will eventually refuse to start, which can leave the driver stranded without warning. The problem appeared again this month, and the vehicle displayed the countdown message even though only oem def fluid was used. Land rover’s own internal service bulletins describe this issue, but dealerships have been unable to permanently repair it. I was instructed by Land Rover corporate to bring the vehicle in for a goodwill review, but instead I was told I would need to pay for diagnostics, and corporate later stated they would not cover repairs at all. A respected independent garage reviewed my service records and told me the dealership should have performed a bluedef regeneration procedure. They also told me this is a known and continuous problem on these vehicles and that it will never go away without a redesigned system. This is a long-standing emissions-related defect that repeatedly renders the vehicle non-operational and forces owners into unsafe situations. There is no permanent fix available through the manufacturer or dealers. I am submitting this complaint because this defect is widespread on Land Rover diesel models and carries clear safety and reliability consequences.

11 Other Fuel System problem of the 2014 Land Rover Range Rover Sport

Failure Date: 10/21/2025

Fuel tank cradle is rusted out and needs to be replaced. Vehicle only has 87k miles on it.

12 Other Fuel System problem of the 2012 Land Rover Range Rover Sport

Failure Date: 10/01/2025

The shop I took my vehicle too says the vehicle is leaking gas. They looked up the VIN for recalls showed me the recall said I'd have to take it to a dealership. So I scheduled an appointment for lakeland Jaguar and Land Rover and they told me they couldn't help me and don't wanna do the work if jlr isn't gonna reimburse them for recall. I can smell gas and it definitely isn't safe to drive. The dealership has written a service sheet but never touched the vehicle. Said they cant see the recall. Systems down. Wondering what do I do?.

13 Other Fuel System problem of the 2012 Land Rover Range Rover Sport

Failure Date: 10/01/2025

Unknown. The engine overheated engulf in heavy smoke. Disabled.

14 Other Fuel System problem of the 2017 Land Rover Range Rover Sport

Failure Date: 09/15/2025

My range rover diesel is continuing to have premature diesel particulate filter (dpf) clogging, causing dashboard warnings, "limp mode," reduced power, and engine issues. This causes the car to immediatly without warning reduce power and you have a certain amount of miles before the car shuts down. Range rover knows of this incident, and there is a law suit concerning this, and unfortunately this problem did not occur to my car until after the lawsuit deadline went into effect. This has happened several times with the only solution to order an 11,000 new system which has the same defect as the original one in the car.

15 Other Fuel System problem of the 2012 Land Rover Range Rover Sport

Failure Date: 08/01/2025

Had a recall. I wasn't available on the date or a week or so after the appointment date. An ex of mine that had no authority to take my range rover into the dealership for the recall to get fixed, used my driver's license to get a rental Land Rover to use while my range rover was supposedly being fixed for the leaking fuel tank recall. So, Land Rover didn't care that it wasn't me getting to drive a $70,000 Land Rover while mine was getting fixed for recall. I figure out what happened & where my vehicle was & got the rental back to me in order to go get my vehicle back. I got to take it home,2 days later transmission messed up wouldn't shift out of park, started over heating,& I had to pull it with a rope from the store back home to park it. When I looked under the vehicle cause I was trying to figure out why it was majorly overheating, I then realized the gas was just pouring out near the transmission pan, which is where the fuel line runs from the top of the gas tank. My recall was for the fuel tank leaking originally. Now, Land Rover refuses to fix this major safety hazard/defect, stating that the gas pouring out doesn't stem from the recall. Which is complete bullshit! nothing was wrong with my vehicle when I bought it only a few months before I received the notice about the recall. Now, I can't drive it & it's sitting at the dealership that did the recall & didn't fix it. They towed it 2 days ago to their shop & called me the next day saying that the fuel pouring out & overheating doesn't have anything to do with recall or what they've done. Which is a lie. So, now my car is sitting up at the dealership off of dfw airport & they are expecting me to pay to get it towed back home & that they aren't going to fix my vehicle that they have totally destroyed. I can't get anyone to talk to me or return my calls. I can't get anyone to help me with this. They just hang up or give me a hard time about it & are denying what they have caused for my vehicle. Please help me!.

16 Other Fuel System problem of the 2011 Land Rover Range Rover Sport

Failure Date: 06/01/2025

Smell gasoline and gasoline on ground. Recall exists for fuel tank but informed my model is not covered but the flange must be damaged as car is currently leaking gas. Car is at range rover dealership who says not covered but their is an existing safety recall for my 2011 Range Rover Sports.

17 Other Fuel System problem of the 2018 Land Rover Range Rover Sport

Failure Date: 05/28/2025

I am writing to formally file a complaint regarding a prolonged and troubling service experience at Jaguar Land Rover buckhead, related to my 2018 Range Rover Sport (approximately 49,000 miles), and to express dissatisfaction with the handling of a prior related incident. My vehicle has been the dealership approx. 2 weeks with no loaner and me missing days from work and not able to transport my children to school. For past context, in 2023, I experienced a faulty ground stud issue that left me stranded on the highway during my morning commute. I later learned this exact issue had been subject to a recall on the discovery model — but not on mine — despite identical symptoms. As a result, I was issued a $675 owner loyalty certificate (olc) by molly b. Of Land Rover USA, which I appreciated, but which I believe did not fully compensate for the risk and inconvenience caused. Recently, I returned to the another dealer, Jaguar Land Rover buckhead, in may 2025 for a new issue. I was told there was a broken exhaust bolt that delayed repairs. I specifically asked the service advisor if I was responsible for the bolt breaking during service and was told I was not, though it was framed as a “common issue” across many vehicles. I respectfully disagreed, noting I’ve owned multiple vehicles with higher mileage and never encountered such a failure. I also suggested that if this is so common, it may reflect a design flaw that Land Rover should address. Additionally, I was misled by the service advisor, cole eidson, who sent me a message on Tuesday, may 28th, stating the bolt was already removed and the exhaust installation was underway. I later discovered this was not true, and that the bolt had not yet been extracted at the time of that message. This misrepresentation caused unnecessary confusion, delay, and loss of trust. This pattern — first with the unresolved ground stud failure, then with misinformation about repairs and unexplained delays — leaves me deeply disappointed with.

20 Other Fuel System problem of the 2015 Land Rover Range Rover Sport

Failure Date: 06/25/2024

I replaced a dead battery after trying to jump start or charge. While doing so I noticed a strong odor of gas. I noticed of large damp spot on the ground. Later I moved the car and a companion looked under the car and noticed gas streaming underneath when I started the car. This was dangerous situation and a large amount of gas. Had a spark occurred when I was working on the battery the explosion would have destroyed the car and injured anyone near. . . Recall n23 addresses the same issue defective fuel tank yet range rover customer service said the VIN is not listed on recall. Mechanic states he has had to repair replace gas tank on these vehicle numerous times. Reference your campaign 21v635.

21 Other Fuel System problem of the 2017 Land Rover Range Rover Sport

Failure Date: 10/21/2023

Unsure what first came on but the check engine light came on there would be no issues when driving nor lack of power, then filled up my tank and first try the engine would stall second try engine would take a longer time to roll over and revs would slightly fluctuate almost sounding like it would stall out again but didn’t after and when ever starting up the vehicle nothing else happened after with that issue only when fueling up. But brought my vehicle to a Land Rover dealerships, they next tried diagnosing my vehicle found a small p0442 small evap leak didn’t find anything then did a smoke test and still didn’t find anything wanted to do a much bigger pricey diagnostic, I declined had the check engine light taking off but gas cap warning would appear later down the line then the check engine light would come on again. I changed the gas cap had past codes erased and things lasted a little longer then before but still came back on.

22 Other Fuel System problem of the 2008 Land Rover Range Rover Sport

Failure Date: 10/02/2023

Fuel tank cover /flange campaign does not include l320 2008 model. . . . . I saw the rusted hole on the fuel tank shield when I got the oil changed, looked up the part wfn500021 and checked the recalls pending . . . I wanted to find out if the same type of flange was used in earlier models and why they were not included in recall?? approved one is on August 12, 2021 NHTSA campaign number: 21v635000 -fuel outlet flange may crack and leak fuel including 2010 onward l320.

24 Other Fuel System problem of the 2013 Land Rover Range Rover Sport

Failure Date: 11/08/2022

My mechanic observed the fuel tank shield (wfn500021) in the undercarriage was totally rusted-out. This fuel tank shield holds the fuel tank. The part was completely rusted and the concern is that the fuel tank will fall out while driving - and igniting. I have shopped around for parts - every dealer has the part on back order. I purchased an after market fuel tank shield on ebay - it does not fit properly. I also tried finding the same part at junk-yards but those are completely rusted out as well. It is difficult to accept that this critical part was so poorly designed or manufactured, in addition to it being unavailable for purchase. I have been without my card for almost one-month, currently sitting with my mechanic.

25 Other Fuel System problem of the 2010 Land Rover Range Rover Sport

Failure Date: 10/01/2022

I have tried making multiple appointments at the dealership in mobile alabama to get this recall taken care of after 2 attempts I took it to the nashville dealership. The first attempt in mobile I called before driving over an hour away to the appointment and they didn't have the appointment on there schedule when I had scheduled over a month in advance and the second time I called and they did not having parts in stock even though I made an appointment. I took it to nashville dropped it off for 5 days while visiting when I came back the recall for the fuel tank still had not been done nor was I notified as to why. They did another recall and it was supposed to be finished by 8am the day I picked it up I wasn't able to leave the dealership until around 3pm due to their negligence and miscommunication still without the recall I brought it in for completed. Now there is a fuel smell and I now have tried making an appointment again with the mobile alabama dealership and they want me to leave it there for days to be completed and suggested I rent a car because they cannot loan a vehicle when this recall is only supposed to take a day.

26 Other Fuel System problem of the 2011 Land Rover Range Rover Sport

Failure Date: 03/04/2022

I was making a u-turn onto a busy 4 lane highway which the speed limit was 45mph. Once I made my turn the truck starting putting and not going over 5mph. There was a very loud smell of gas. I barely made off the highway away from the incoming traffic. On the dash restricted performance was illuminated. I had to get the vehicle towed. I was terrified because my daughter and I commute everyday and that issue with fuel could have been horrific. I called the dealer they advised me that the part for the recall is depleted and it could be weeks or even months before they hear anything.

27 Other Fuel System problem of the 2011 Land Rover Range Rover Sport

Failure Date: 02/12/2022

The vehicle is leaking fuel close to the inside of the rear tire by the gas cap side. When I pump gas it doesn’t just drip, it’s pouring out the bottom of the vehicle and running down wires and parts of the car.

28 Other Fuel System problem of the 2014 Land Rover Range Rover Sport

Failure Date: 12/01/2021

I receive a constant warning light - check engine light comes on - for loose gas cap. I will adjust the gas cap and it will go away and then come back on, illuminate again shortly after. There is a strong fuel smell inside and outside of the vehicle.

29 Other Fuel System problem of the 2011 Land Rover Range Rover Sport

Failure Date: 11/24/2021

Safety recall n623: gasoline fuel tank flange assembly cracking why is this recall not showing when I enter my VIN number here? vehicle was towed back to house November 24th, 2021 after discovering it was leaking gas all over the walmart parking lot. I have been smelling gas inside the vehicle and on the outside passenger side of the vehicle for almost 2 months! I saw no visible evidence to prompt concern until November 24th. When I called aaa to have the car towed they asked me to call 911 to clear the car from “risk of explosion” before it could be towed. I have been trying to call the Land Rover dealership to get my car in for this repair and they can’t get me in until the end of January!?! how is this acceptable!? I’ve been driving this car around like this for two months. . Possibly longer. . With my toddler! and I’m being told by aaa, my mobile mechanic and this ‘safety recall letter’ that the car is at risk of explosion!? I have the “important safety recall” letter in my hands right now that outlines my exact issue and it literally says. . “there could be liquid fuel underneath the vehicle, which in the presence of an ignition source could lead to a fire. ” this is unacceptable! I don’t have a vehicle now. I can’t work. Not working isn’t an option. Not having a reliable and safe vehicle I can count on isn’t an option. I can’t get my car in for the necessary repairs in a timely manner. I’m just stuck. There is no ideal time for this issue to arise but right before christmas!? I can’t even think of the appropriate words to communicate the level of havoc and life f**kery this is causing. I’m literally here reporting this issue because of the letter I received and now I’m infuriated this recall isn’t even listed on y’all’s website. Who sends out an “important safety recall” letter that casually mentions the car could catch on fire and then just doesn’t put the recall into full effect!? what’s my next step? attorney. What’s y’all’s?.

Failure Date: 08/09/2021

Hello, I have 2010 Land Rover Range Rover Sport. 4 weeks ago I smell gas and I saw error code about gas cap. I purchased 2 gas cap and replaced it but I keep smelling gas. I took the car to shop and mechanic confirmed gas leak. I call landrover customer service and I talk to debbie and tiffany. I told them about upcoming gas leak recall and they told me they couldn't help me before official recall announcement. I took the car to landrover dealer in alexandria virginia and I talk to ash and he told me the same thing to wait until offical recall. I don't know why we wait until October 8, 2021 if gas leak is fire hazard. Nhtsa I really appreciate for your help and thank you for your time. Have a blessed day.

34 Other Fuel System problem of the 2011 Land Rover Range Rover Sport

Failure Date: 08/01/2021

At the beginning of the year my car started going into limp mode and shutting down. I had it inspected and the purge valve was faulty and I paid to have it replaced in August 2021. In the past month it’s started dying while driving, mostly as I’m pulling up to a stoplight. The engine will sputter and it will completely die while the car is in drive which means I loose controll of the steering wheel even while it’s still moving. I just had it inspected and it’s the same issue, the purge valve I’ve just replaced is stuck closed. So this will be the 3rd purge valve this car has had in a 4 month period. I’m afraid this is going to cause me to have an accident and it’s the same thing over and over so it sounds like it’s a faulty part.

35 Other Fuel System problem of the 2017 Land Rover Range Rover Sport

Failure Date: 06/04/2021

Fuel gauge indicated no fuel even though tank was just filled. Vehicle went into limp mode then would only start for a minute. Exact same symptoms as current recall for same model year but ours is outside of VIN range for that recall. Vehicle only has 35k miles and had fuel pump replaced which has seemed to fix the problem although fuel gauge won’t read full ever.
