Emission Control Problems of Lexus ES300

Lexus ES300 owners have reported 3 problems related to emission control (under the engine and engine cooling category). The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Emission Control problem of the 1998 Lexus ES300

Failure Date: 05/24/2008

I have a 1998 Lexus Es300 with approximately 115,000 on the car. The check engine light recently came on stating that it was emissions code p0466, which is a common charcoal cannister problem for Lexus Es300 1996 and up. There was an extended warranty issued for 1996-1998 Lexus Es300 for the emission problem which includes the p0466 problem. I went to the Lexus dealer to get that emissions problem fix, but they said that not all of the 1998 Lexus Es300 was included in this warranty and my car was one of the cars that was in that category. Since the extended warranty stated that 96-98 Lexus Es300 are covered, is there any way that my car would be covered since it's a 1998 Lexus Es300?.

2 Emission Control problem of the 1999 Lexus ES300

Failure Date: 09/10/2007

Had a check engine light and was informed that the oxygen sensor and charcoal canister needed to be replaced. This problem happened in Toyota and Lexus vehicles up until and including 1998. I was told this was not covered under the warranty that covered the older vehicles.
