When I opened my vehicle door at night and exiting my vehicle the vehicle door does not provide a visual warning to other vehicle drivers in the path of my 2021 Lexus ES 350. I did an investigation and found that all opening doors on all 17 million vehicle doors do not provide an added zone of illumination that is automatically illuminated by another vehicle drivers headlight to allow accident avoidance to occur. I petitioned NHTSA and received no reply to my "fix" to make possible a new fmvss 108 to solve this contributory cause of opened vehicle door pedestrian deaths. The application to add a zone of illumination is universal in application to all vehicle doors, and takes about 10 seconds to apply requiring no tools. I wish NHTSA to take a position that all vehicle drivers have the right to see opened vehicle doors at night to reduce the number of opened vehicle door collisions and opened vehicle door pedestrian deaths and to provide a safety warning notice to all vehicle owners the following. It has been determined by visual observation at night opening the vehicle doors on all vehicles do not provide a visual zone of illumination warning to other vehicle drivers at night that may contribute to a opened vehicle door pedestrian fatality.

I was driving down the highway having just picked picked up thiis car I just bought from the dealership when suddenly I heard a loud expolosion up above and noticed my sunroof exploded sending pieces of glass into my car. I was scratched and had to get home 1/2 hour away. Dealership was far. The dealershhip said to call the insurance. I think it could bet the way the sunroof was put in but not sure.

I was at a stoplight and there were a couple vehicles in front of me. The light was red. I was a car length and a half away from the vehicle directly in front of me. As soon as the light turned green, I saw the vehicles in front of the vehicle directly in front of me proceed to move forward, and the driver in front of me took his foot off of his brakes, so I thought he was moving forward as well. So then I decided to accelerate to about 5-10 mph. By the time I realized the vehicle in front of me wasn't moving forward, my car hit his trail-hitch" (not his back bumper) and the front of my car was damaged, but I could drive it from the scene of the accident. The brake assist of my 2018 Lexus Es350 did not engage. I think the brake assist function on my vehicle was faulty and it should've been recalled and fixed, as it would've stopped me from getting into a car accident in the first place had it engaged and worked properly.

Dashboard melts and becomes stick and shiny, causing excessive glare and significantly reducing the drivers ability to see out of windshield. This is a well documented manufacturing defect. Contacting Lexus/Toyota about this and they refused to provide any assistance to rectify this problem. The problem is not bad in the winter time. But with ambient temperatures above 40 degrees f and with the sun shining in the car windshield the dashboard melts and becomes shiny and sticky causing driver vision issues. Have contacted manufactures customer service and local dealers for past six months with no help from others. Auto is low millage 65,000 and is garaged when at home. Located in midwest. This is more than a cosmetic interior issue, as it causes the drive to have impaired operation of vehicle and should mandate a recall.

Happened in a residential neighborhood. In motion to make a turn around from the main street into a side street. I wanted to head back the direction from where I had just been. I was moving very slowly because of the small turning radius. I was just turning into the very opening of the side street. Upon curving into the "u" of my turn the car fiercely propelled forward. It felt like it was attempting a "0 to 60" launch. I looked at my foot in disbelief that I may have been on the gas pedal . No. . . My foot was on the brake. My car crashed into a large rock/boulder residential landscape that stopped it. I shut my engine off. Passenger side rear wheel was off the ground. Front right was elevated on top of rocks. I was fine. Very shaken and in disbelief of the rapid launch and situation. Rapid car had to be towed. Exterior damage. Underside damage as well.

While driving on the interstate at approximately 70 miles per hour at 6:45 pm on Tuesday, March 6th, my sunroof suddenly exploded and glass fragments fell inside my vehicle. At the time of the explosion, there were not any cars around my vehicle nor did I hit any object on the road including a pothole. The explosion sounded as if a gun went off near my head and the glass immediately began to split into small pieces. Other than having some ringing in my ears as a result of the explosion noise, I did not suffer any other physical damage. I took the car into the Lexus dealer and they stated that they had never had a case where a sunroof exploded without something hitting it directly. I know for a fact that nothing hit my vehicle or my sunroof as I was traveling on the interstate without any car or truck around me at the time of the explosion. I am filing this in order to get it documented and to see if any other Lexus owner has had a similar issue with their Lexus sunroof. I am attaching pictures of the sunroof which shows the damage done from the glass exploding without any type of foreign contact. I hope that someone from the nhta would contact me to let me know if there have been other cases like this reported.
The trunk will not close after opening. I have to slam it several times until it finally close.

It sounded like an explosion. I pulled over and looked around to see what the noise was. It wasn't until I looked up that I saw the hole in the sunroof. Glass did not come down, it went out.

The dashboard on this vehicle is melting. The smell is terrible. I do not drive the car anymore because I am afraid that the order coming from the melting dash is toxic. Even though Lexus has a recall on the 2008 models for this very same reason they are refusing to replace this. This is not a safe situation to be driving under. Please help!!.

I experienced a low speed sudden unintended acceleration of my 2014 Lexus Es350 for the first time on December 22, 2015. I was turning into a parking place where I live as I have done hundreds of times. As I was taking my foot off the acceleration pedal to starting hitting the brake pedal, the car suddenly accelerated. I heard the engine revving and I was taken totally by surprise. My reaction was to turn to the left to avoid hitting the wall in front of me while hitting the brake without any response from the car. I hit the wall with the right front side of the car and kept going for a little while until I somehow shifted gears. The car stopped and I put it on reverse. I again experienced the same situation on March 21, 2016 while parking the car at a different place. Fortunately, nothing obstructed the car so I was able to stop it before hitting anything - the override Toyota designed after all the earlier sudden unintended acceleration accidents worked this time. But this second incident confirmed to me that the first one will no longer be an isolated incident hence I'm filing this safety complaint so other Lexus owners learn about it.

While attempting to make a 3-point turn, I first backed out of a driveway onto the road, paused to check for traffic, shifted from reverse into drive and pulled forward and . Started to turn to my left. As I did I experienced a loss of steering and brakes and the dashboard indicator lights all lit at once. My car drifted across the center line and I was unable to stop it from rolling to the other side of the road where it ended up perpendicular to oncoming traffic and only stopped when it hit an embankment. My car sustained front bumper and grille damage.

Dashboard melting.
I was driving on the freeway when I got rear ended with my daughter in the backseat in her car seat, and I being the driver 8 months pregnant. Car was severely damage no air bags deploy, this is not the first time this happens that the air bags do not deploy at the time of the accident. I was wearing my seat belt I hit my forehead on the steering wheel both times. I am concerned regarding this. Very expensive car to have these malfunctions.
I had an accident that was very severe and airbags did not deploy. I filed a complaint with Lexus and did not get a satisfactory answer. I felt the impact through the steering wheel. All I want to know why airbags did not deploy. Please help me with that.
The vehicle was in an accident as a result of another drive jetting out in front. Car impacted at the front driver side, causing damage to the front bumper mount, hood and driver side quarter panel. Impact to the other vehicle was the rear quarter on the passenger side. Upon impact the airbags failed to deploy, onboard safety connect feature did not connect to confirm driver was ok and the sos button failed to work at the scene of the accident. This was reported to Toyota.
The passenger side window glass popped out while my wife was driving this car to school to drop off our kids. It did startle her because of the noise. She was alert enough and any accident was avoided. I got the car checked out by a Lexus dealer and they said that it was due to a faulty plastic tab that broke and the entire glass assembly needs to be replaced (even though there is nothing wrong with the glass itself) this is a known problem in Lexus as acknowledged by a TSB (technical service bulletin) l-sb-0003-09 issued by them on January 26, 2009. The car was still under warranty at that time, but they failed to inform me about this potential problem.
My passenger side front window will not roll up properly. Apparently the plastic clip broke off and the entire window has to be replaced. This is definitely a defect by Lexus. I have seen a lot of complaints online about this. Lexus is charging 700 dollars to fix. I will not buy another Lexus or recommend one to anyone because Lexus should take ownership for this one.
While driving on the highway at 60 miles / h my driverside window suddenly fell down which seriously distracted me and which almost resulted in a collision with another car. Feedback from Lexus is that the plastic tabs that hold the window disintegrate over time and as a result the entire window will need to be replaced. It's clearly a safety hazard and should pro-actively be addressed by Lexus.
Car was being driven into a parking spot at less than 5 mph when it suddenly accelerated and started to climb a rock hill before it could be stopped. Wheels were turned to right as result of turn into parking spot which caused the vehicle to start tipping over. Air bags were not deployed and repairs are approximately $4500.

Dashboard melted.
Because of the government's efforts to increase mileage per gallon, auto manufacturers have reduced wind resistance to the extent possible. One of the ways manufacturers do this is by lowering the front fenders and the hood to the point where the driver can no longer see them. This makes it more difficult to park the car, make turns, and drive in general---far more dangerous to drive.
Tl- the contact owns a 2007 Lexus Es350. The contact stated that the entire dashboard had melted. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing. The technician stated the dashboard needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The VIN was not available. The approximate failure mileage was 100,000. Mah.
Dashboard has been deteriorating for past two years. It is sticky and glossy causing light to glare off the dash onto the windshield. This interferes with the driver's ability to see the road and is a hazard.
