Dashboard is melting. I was told I should have gotten a recall letter. I did not receive a letter pertaining to the replacement of the dash. It is between 96 to 100% for months here and the dash gets so hot even to touch it. . I put a sunscreen over windshield and punctures it. I am not asking for a replacement but just repairing it. . I love my car and intend to get new one next year but I plan on keeping it for another year. I went to sterling mccall Lexus and was told mine offer expired may, 2017. Had I received a letter I would replace it then. Please help me with this matter. I would be forever grateful.

I was driving on i75 in louisville, ky, going approx 70-75 mph when I heard what sounded like a gun shot! panicked, I looked around immediately but there were no other cars close by and no overpasses. Then I realized that glass was all over my right arm, shoulder, and the center console. I looked up to see that my moon roof was shattered. After realizing what had happened, I closed the shade so more glass did not fall on me and inside my car. I took an exit and called my insurance company. I told them I had no idea what had happened, that no one was around but that my moon roof had just exploded. They gave me the company to contact to get it fixed and I took it there to get it fixed the next day. I have pics of it though. So scary! I still don't understand why my moon roof would just explode without any exterior force being exerted and I am so afraid it will happen again.

My dash board is bad n causing very bad vision to drive. Lexus state they are not going to cover this at this point due to missing the dead line. I purschase this vehicle used n knew nothing about this problem until informed by Lexus service.

Melting dashboard I have been on the list for my vehicle's defective dashboard recall since 9/2015. I also completed the in store inspection required by the dealership 10/2016. Year to date, the dashboard has not been replaced. Is Lexus still honoring this recall?.

I purchased my Lexus 2008 ES 350 on March 2016 from Lexus of austin. The 2008 Lexus ES 350 hvac system is blowing moldy, mildew, and aluminum hydroxide smells into the car. The toxic combination is making me sick and is causing tightening of my throat, tongue, reflux, and stomach problems. I had my car tested for mold and this is what I found.

Three major issues with this car, and lots of minor ones. 1. The brakes did not engage while slowing down in traffic. Hitting the brakes caused the car to lurch forward. 2. The electrical system seemed to turn off and all internal/external lights went off at night and I was unable to see the road. 3. The car slips and the systems to counteract slipping did not engage. There are issues with the navigation, the enform system and many other issues. Repeated attempts to resolve the problem with Lexus have met with no success. Regards, brian povlsen.

I was backing car out of driveway when all of a sudden car accelerated hitting curb, ran up an embankment and crashed into neighbors front steps. This is the first time it ever did that. It appears that throttle must have stuck close to maximum acceleration as car climbed up a 10-12 foot embankment and hit neighbors brick front steps with such force it picked rear wheels right off the ground.

My car paint job start peeling a year and I/2 ago went to Lexus northside report it also report it to the main office the answer to that was they can:t do anything about it what I can"t belive is Lexus do not stand by there cars any more . I guess new people in the office that see things different them the old Lexus owners. I use to tell people abouth Lexus all the time but now I don"t . Lexus you let me down I still can not belive you don"t stand behine your cars. I would like to know how you would feel if you spend 30. 000 on a car that"s peeling it looks bad.

I purchased the Lexus 3/2016 and I have been having medical problems from the mold/mildew and toxic aluminum hydroxide that was sprayed on the hvac by Lexus to kill the mold issue. I have been going to the doctor since 7/2016 for illness that started out with tightening of the throat and tongue, frequent urination and very yellow, difficulty breathing, high blood pressure 130/80 before I purchased car my blood pressure was 120/60, blurred vision, metallic taste on my tongue and burning sensation on my tongue that doesn't go away, dizziness. I have had the car for less than a year and I stopped using the air because it is a safety issue and my health is at stake. I have kids who ride in the car from 5years of age to 12 years and there health is affect too. The mold produces a gas of mycotoxins which can be travel to major organs lung, liver, and brain. These cars need to be recalled and Lexus of austin in austin, texas refuses to do anything about my complaints. Don't let someone die before this get taken serious. There are many reports of Lexus/Toyota hvac mold issue. Its not just the mold that is the problem it is the gas (mycotoxins) you are made to drink everytime you are behind the wheel. I didn't buy this car to have my health and my family health to be affected. Lexus of austin took my money, and took my health too. Health ;lel. E.

On 1/20/16 I was driving back to work around 12:30 in the afternoon and I heard a loud pop. At the time I though something had hit my car or windshield, although I had not seen anything fly up at the window. Once I arrived at work I got out of the car to check my windows and to see if there was any damage to the body of the car. I did not see any. The following morning, travelling on the highway on my way to work I noticed a wind sound throughout the car. I thought maybe one of my windows was down. I checked all remaining windows and they were all up. When I stopped at a stop light, the sound stopped. At that moment I thought my sunroof somehow may have opened by accident. I pulled the cloth cover that covers the sunroof and noticed the damage. The sunroof had exploded. The glass was also pointed upward. Had something like a rock fallen on it, it would have been pointed downward and there was no rock to be found by the auto body shop that will be fixing my vehicle. The auto body shop had see it before and told me to contact you and the Lexus dealership directly. I also have found numerous articles on line about this.

The car has a system just like a computer. The 'mouse' has a light that flits over the screen. It is very hard to control while driving and I find it more dangerous then texting while driving. You really should look into this.

Vehicle dashboard is melting and creates a dangerous road glare when driving on sunny days or hot days. It is also a very sticky surface that is sticking to everything. This is known problem on Lexus and Toyota cars.

Melting dash. Dash is chipping away also and is sticky and when touched , leaves black residue on whatever touches it. Gives off a blinding glare at certain times.

When turning, the 'door open' light comes on and all four doors unlock. This has been happening for about 2 weeks. Before this, only light will come.

I parked the car in my indoor garage (part of the interior of my home). Several hours later, I began to feel ill and collapsed on the floor. I was able to call 911 and an emergency crew responded to my home. I was unable to open the door, but they were able to gain access. They immediately determined that my home was filled with carbon monoxide and found that the source was the car in the garage. They determined that the car's engine had been left on and the battery was dead. This was the result of me walking away from the car, which has a "Smart-key" ignition, with the engine still running. I did not hear any alert from the car warning me that the engine was running. The medics said that 5 more minutes in my home would have been fatal, and I was rushed by ambulance to a hospital, where I remained for 3 days.

I am still waiting for the takata airbags (about 1. 5-2 yrs) to be replaced due to the recall but dealer just says nothing can be done until airbags are received. In addition, my dashboard has been melting for the last three years and now has become a safety issue because the glare blocks my line of vision during the day and at night due to the reflection of the lights. I told the dealer about this issue as well as Lexus customer service but I am just told that 2010 is not included in the recall campaign. I have been unable to take an accurate picture because the glare/line of vision blockage is hard to see.

Hello, we own a 2007 Lexus sedan and love everything about the car except for the dashboard. It has started to melt and have become sticky. The reason for my complain here is because it has become a driving hazard since the sun is always bright in texas and the sticky dashboard glares onto my windscreen making driving really difficult and wanted to file a complain since I tried to get it fixed from Lexus and they are charging me $1000 for replacing it. It is manufacturers defect and I am not ready to pay for their mistake. The fact is I still have extended warranty with Lexus but dash is not covered in that. Please look into this matter.

The dashboard of the vehicle has become very sticky, melting, in the heat with small pieces of the dashboard falling off. Driving in the daylight compromises driver safety due to the glare in the windshield from the wet shiny look of the dashboard in front of the driver reflecting into the drivers field of vision. There appears to be a defect in the material used by the manufacturer in the production of this dashboard. Not only is it a driving safety issue but it also devalues the vehicle for trade or resale.

I was cleaning the windshield and the rag slightly ran across the dash board. Since then it is like a gooey sticky like substance. It is right in front of the driver side of the windshield. I now have a ridiculous glare on the driver side , which makes it very difficult to see. I have fuzzes and hair fragments sticking to my dash board that won't come off because they are stuck due to the melting of the dash board. I would like to add that any time I even slightly hit the dash board with my nail, or rings or bag, a junk just falls out, it feels like play-doh or clay. This had occurred before I bought my vehicle in November of 2013.

It was a sunny Saturday morning. At approximately 9:30 am, my wife was driving on a residential street at about 35 mph. , less than one (1) mile from home. Suddenly, the car jolted and rapidly began to accelerate. It kept increasing speed. She than hit the brakes. The car wouldn't stop and continued to increase speed. The car speed exceeded 70 mph. Fortunately, there were no parked cars or pedestrians. She then moved the gear shift up into park. The car still wouldn't stop. She was approaching the intersection of the service road to the long island expressway. She continued to hold her foot on the brake pedal, but the car continued to speed. Fortunately, there were no oncoming vehicles. Desperately, she pulled the gear shift down, she wasn't sure if it was in neutral or drive, and the car finally stopped. It stopped one half block before the service road, where she surely would have been involved in a serious accident. When I visited the scene, there were tire skid marks along the street.

Dashboard melt when the temperature reach 80 degree which is most days of the year in florida, couple of month ago the melting dashboard is causing a severe glare that make visibility difficult, as a result it is a hazard to drive this car every day or for more than one hour at the time or the temperature is 80 degree or higher. Lexus refused to remedy the defect in the past and now that many people are complaining Lexus is saying the do not have enough parts to replace all the melting dashboard. Meanwhile I can be killed in a car accident and Lexus could care less. I have three young children, safety and visibility are essential to drive my car. I no longer feel safe in my Lexus Es350 2007 and I lost my trust in the brand name. I need your help in remedy my hazard/safety issue caused intestinally by Lexus knowing florida has a higher temperature than most other states.

Dashboard is melting which makes it difficult to see due to the glare. Bugs and dirt are now stuck on the dashboard that you cannot clean. I now have plastic containers to decrease the glare. My Lexus dealer was to see if he could get me some assistance on getting this fix in sept. 2013; no word to-date. This is a major hazard both day and night (glare from street lights).

Dash is melting and Lexus or Toyota are not willing to replace free of charge. I'm the original owner of this car and the problem started about a year and a half ago. It's causing a reflection on the dash board which is blinding and makes it hard to see while driving. I'm worried with the florida heat the dash board will catch on fire or completely melt, or cause an accident due to the visibility issue.

Dashboard has melted. Vehicle is out of warranty. Safety hazard is the extreme reflection from the sun. My eyes are extremely sensitive to light and makes driving difficult. I can not afford a new dashboard and Lexus is claiming that the weather is hot in florida and it can happen . . . Oh well.
