Engine And Engine Cooling problem #1

When the brakes are applied while in drive the rpms randomly increase from 500 to 1000 and the car inches up unless I apply more pressure on the brakes. This is usually noticeable while I am in the drive-thru at fast food restaurants while waiting in line. While waiting for 5 or so minutes it usually occurs 2-3 times. I rarely notice it happen at traffic lights as they usually don't last that long. It happens at least a few times a week.
