Is 250 dash has melted and creates harsh glare and reflects into the windshield blocking the view out the front (see the attached picture in which the gooey surface of the dash is blocking the view of other vehicles on the road) when driving east or west towards the sun making it dangerous to drive. The problem is worst on hot days when the dash becomes more tacky, gooey, and reflective. The dash also seems to off gas and create a haze that builds on the windshield. Toyota is replacing some off the dashes and interiors through a "warranty enhancement" but will not replace mine because the vehicle has been in a wreck, had an insurance claim, and been repaired. This voids their "enhancement". The issue is present on many Lexus vehicles, though and can be a hazard. They will not fix my vehicle because this issue is not yet a recall. I am worried about not being able to see out of the vehicle well.
The dashboard has a sticky film. It also has become reflective resulting in difficulty seeing out of the windshield thus making driving dangerous in bright, sunny weather. It has been this way for a couple of years, but recently, the dash has become more reflective.

Takata recall recall was issued on may 2016, and no remedy has been given to owners yet. Also dashboard was recalled for replacement as they became sticky / melted and at times produce glare. Local Lexus dealer approved replacement in October 2015, and still have not received the dashboards for replacement. Contacted Lexus corporate directly, but did not receive any specific set time for the availability of the part.

Vsc light, check engine light, traction control light all came on at the same time. Po303 cylinder 3 misfire detected. Have saw online many people complaining of the same problem. Engine is shaky during idle or shaky when its cold. Previous owned a 2009 Lexus Is250 and had the same problem. Heard of some people saying Lexus dealers took cars in and had problem fixed as recall. Not finding any recalls for my car. My mechanic says its a good running car, but something doesn't feel right.
Melting dashboard causing a glare while driving where you can't really see where you are going properly.

The dashboard is melting, its dangerous to drive this car in the daytime because the reflection of the sun causes it to shine on the melting dashboard, making it very difficult to see clearly. I called Lexus and they wont cover this defective part.
I cant see im blinded by the dash board its melting the clare from the sun is blinding on the dash melted plastic.
It's slimy and sticky and so when you're driving in the sun on the highway or city streets, it creates a glare on your dashboard making it unsafe. The stickiness on the door panels gets caught up in my nails.
Dash material is decomposing, creating a large spot of glare onto windshield. Lexus is well aware of this from thousands of complaints, and in 2011 updated warranty for some vehicles. However they have told me that vehicle is not covered and are being sued buy many for this same complaint. Just adding my car to list I have seen that you already have. This makes it unsafe to drive inthe sunlight!!.
Door panels are melting. Lexus corporate will not fix the issue of all door panels melting inside the car. Lexus did however fix the dashboard but does not want to fix the door panels. Door panels feel like play dough sticky and its shape is being destroyed gradually as being used daily.
I have contacted my local Lexus dealership and cannot get any help with the takata recall, door panel recalls, and any other recall issue. I have been trying for the last year and half.
My dashboard is melting and it's hard to see when driving because of the sun reflext.

My husband was driving on I 295 in maryland, when the car suddenly shutdown. He stated he was going approximately 55 miles per hour and was fortunate enough to be able to maneuver from the middle lane to the side of the road. This is not the first time the vehicle shutdown completely. The previous incidents occurred after stopping at a stop sign or signal. The vehicle has been to the Lexus dealership in maryland for repairs, but each time(at least 4 now) within a 6-7 days, the vehicle shuts down. These incidents did not start until after the dealership took care of the fuel recall, April of 2015.
Unintended acceleration on at least 3 occasions. Took back to Lexus. They extracted information from computer and sent back to Lexus. Dealer would not address problem locally and said they have had no other complaints. Lexus was to respond. . . Have heard nothing on all occasion, car was stopped and took off on its own.

The dashboard is melting. It is extremely tacking to the touch, attracting dust and debris (which cannot, then, be cleaned off).
The dash is melting. And the door panels are releasing black tar like materials.
The dashboard on the car is melted. The melted surface reflects the sunlight and causes a glare directly into the driver's eyes while driving. The effects of melted rubber on the air inside the cabin is unknown, but worrisome.
I have a 2009 Lexus is 250 with a melting dashboard and panels that I had my service advisor check after inspecting it he took pictures and sent it to Lexus headquarters and told me to wait 2 months for there reply and its been past 2 months already. So as of Jan. 21. 2015 my girlfriend told me that she has a hard time driving the car because of the glare from the dashboard when the sun hits it so I made a call to the service advisor today Jan. 21. 2015 and told him that I never heard back for my dashboard replacement he said it takes awhile 3-4 months and I explained to him about the glare to my windhield due to the melting dashboard and he tell me all you can do is wait for the recall theres a recall going out for it but I cant wait for recall because I have my girlfriend and my 2 kids ages 9yrs old and 1yrs old ride in the car and this is our only vehicle that we have. Please I need to get this fix ASAP dont want nothing happening to my family thanks in advance mahalo from honolulu, hawaii email me if you have any questions @lacamiento3@yahoo. Com.
I have been on a waiting for over a year with no response to fix the sticky dashboard that Lexus promise to fixed. Once the suns comes out dashboard creates a glare that reduces the visibility will driving.
The front dashboard is melting from the sun also the door handles are breaking in pieces. Its there a re-call on this particular situation. Also the dashboard and the doors are very sticky.
Te car is flood inside because theres a ac drain block and this produce melt and smelles and da,ages and oxident the floor. And electrical cables can make a electrical failure amd activated the airbags.
Toyota/Lexus in early 2015 stated it would extend its warranty for the consoles (front and sides) of certain models including Lexus is 250 because they are sticky and melting and disintegrating/crumbling. We starting 2018 soon making it 3 years of waiting for these to be replaced. We receive a brick wall from dealers and corporate Lexus when we ask about it--always some general response about back up orders and trying and etc. It seems maybe us consumers could use the assistance of NHTSA to oversee this process and ensure we receive safe consoles in a timely way. I am extremely concerned about the state of the side consoles. The front has been replaced but waiting going on 3 years for side panels. Thank you.
The dashboard on my Lexus is-250 2009 has been slowly melting for several years leaving a shiny and wet look and feel. This shiny area of the dashboard is directly over the drivers view and reflects on the underside of the windshield. In heavy or direct light (same at night) the reflected light obscures the view out onto the roadway. I believe in the right circumstances a pedestrian or another car could possibly be hidden by the reflected light from the dashboard. I can upon your request provide a video of the surface and the light problems while driving.
I contacted Lexus of savannah, GA. About my dash and door panels were dissolving/disintegrating and told that both items are on a recall list and that I would be put on a recall list to be put on their list to be repaired, that was in Dec. 2014. I have been in contact with Lexus of savannah, GA. And cooperate headquarters numerous times since then and have been told that they didn't know when it would be repaired, last call to the headquarters was yesterday and was told the same. The glare from the dash has become so dangerous that I am concerned that I will have a wreck and be injured or killed from this problem. My car is a 2008 Is250 Lexus. I would greatly appreciate it if there is any way that you can speed up their repair on my car. Even though it is dangerous to drive I have no other choice. I am sending documentation and can send if necessary.
The dashboard is melting in the area toward the front, closest to the windshield glass. This seems to be as a result of the dash material reacting to heat. In the areas where this occurs, the surface of the dash is very shiny and sticky, and there is considerable glare from the dash when driving in full sunlight. In addition, there are noxious fumes emitted from the dash. This is especially noticeable after the car has heated up after being parked in the sun.
The dashboard is melting becoming shiny and sticky. Makes it hard to see when driving in the sun.
While stopped, heard a pop on left rear window, glass shattered and started falling into car like a waterfall.
"takata recall" the second day I bought my car it has been giving me problems. I have had to replace my engine/motor not long after I purchased my car. I'm still having the same problems with my car and new motor. It runs hot and I have brought it to 6 different mechanic as well as to the Lexus dealership multiple times and I have had to pay out of pocket for a lot of things. I also went on Lexus. Com and found out that my car is a lemon buy back and was never told by the dealership I bought it from or the Lexus dealership in baton rouge louisiana that it was a lemon. I had to fund out on my own. It very wrong that I bought a car and not told my anyone how the car is a lemon.
Heat causes the dashboard and door panels to melt. The dashboard when melted causes a glare on the windshield, that makes it hard to see objects on the road.
I have a 2007 Lexus Is250 in which the dashboard and side door molding are melting causing the rubber to come off the dashboard. There has been numerous complaints from Lexus owners that they are having the same issue. Investigator reporter for channel 6 in miami has file a complaint agains Toyota and Lexus to make this a mandatory recall to fix this items,Toyota is aware but they do not want to replace the dashboards unless we pay $900. 00 for the repairs. If they know there is an issue they need to fix it instead of charging the consumer for there mistake.
Approximately 2 years ago my entire dash board and side panels started to melt. I have contacted Lexus and they continue to say they are waiting on the manufacturer for parts. I live in marrero louisiana with extremely high humidity and temperatures. This has been a safety hazard. When the sun hits my windshield, the glare from hitting the melted dash completely blinds me. I have to lean to the right side just to see out of my windshield. It is melted to the point of it being untouchable without getting sticky glue on your hands. Anything that rubs against the side door panels creates grooves and marks because it's like clay. Now theres a recall with the takata inflators in the front passenger airbag which really concerns me because its affected by high temperatures and humidity causes degrading of the part. Since my dash board is completely melted to the consistency of hot glue, I can't imagine that helps with my airbag situation either. I have been contacting Lexus for the past 2 years with no luck. If I should have an accident due to the dash glare, I will expect to have the production company held accountable. Any help you can offer with getting this message across to anyone at this point would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
I purchased my 2007 Lexus is 250 in 2010. Over the last year the dashboard has melted to the point to where it is untouchable and obstructs the vision in my view from the sun glaring against the melted dash. My door are also soft and crumble to the touch of fingernails, keys, rubbing of any kind. I have contacted Lexus and was told I will be put on the list for recall but they cannot give me a time frame of when the recall will take place. When I drive, I can barely see the the glare it causes in my view of the windshield so it is very dangerous at this point. It is also impossible to clean, towels and paper towels will stick to the dash into the gluey substance.
Dash looks like it is melting and door panels are soft and tacky.
My dashboard is melting. It's melting so bad this is safety issue in my opinion. When sun is shining outside around noon, reflection from melted dashboard is so bad on windshield, you can't even see it. If this leads to an accident, I'll surely sue Lexus for this.
