Front Driver Side Air Bag Inflator Problems of Lexus IS250

Takata inflators. I had my car into the dealership after receiving several notices of the recall. I was told at the dealership I would be placed on waiting list for the recall parts. That has been months ago. I called today to inquire about the recall wait list and I was told they are not working on the convertibles. I would have to wait. I asked if I was not suppose to use the front passenger seat and she said they have had no issues or complaints with the pass seat. I am a realtor and use my car everyday for work with passengers in the front pass seat. Any idea how long this recall repair will take? I do t want me clients to be unsafe in my vehicle. Thank you.

Tamara recall I'm trying to schedule an appointment to get the airbag inflator. I guess there was a deadline of March 25 2017. I do not agree with that.

Takata inflators - my vehicle has an open recall with no known fix. So I am stuck with a vehicle that now holds no value and that I can not sell. It's worth less than owe. How can you have a recall with no known fix? that is unfair to the consumer and doesn't say good things about the Lexus name. I won't buy another Lexus ever again!.

Takata recall the interim recall notice was sent out around may'16 when the recall started. Calling the dealership provided no information on when a fix will be available nor any additional remedy provided. This car is unsuitable for commuting with a passenger because "metal fragments could pass through the airbag cushion material, striking vehicle occupants, and result in serious injury or death". With such the potential for such a traumatic outcome, either a fix needs to be implemented immediately or rental cars should be made available to those who do not wish to put them or their passengers at risk. Without being able to determine how at risk a vehicle is for the inflator degredation, remedy options should be provided not only to those under immediate recall but for vehicles that are in the interim period (pre-recall) as well.

I received a Lexus safety recall notice on 7/18/16 regarding the takata front passenger airbag inflator (NHTSA recall no. 16v-340). The propellant in these inflators may degrade after prolonged exposure to high absolute humidity and fluctuating high temperatures. Degraded propellant can cause inflator rupture during airbag deployment. In the event of an inflator rupture, metal fragments could pass through the airbag cushion material, striking the vehicle occupants and result in serious injury or death. My car is used to transport my family, which includes my 6 month old son. We do not feel safe driving my car and would like to receive a loaner until the airbag parts have been replaced. Also, we live in an area where temperatures reach up to 100 degrees in the summer months, which may increase the risk of the propellant in these inflators to degrade.

Takata recall. The contact owns a 2008 Lexus is 250. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 16v340000 (air bags) for the front passenger inflator; however, the parts to do the repair were unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not notified of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. VIN tool confirms parts not available.

Takata recall - I received notice of aribag inflators recall for my Lexus Is250. The dealership stated that this will take time to get from manufacturer.

Takata recall when will this be resolved, it has been 6 months since my notice? it is not rocket science since other inflators are working.

Takata recall - airbag light has been on. They replaced recalled inflator. Light is still on. Dealer now says it's a wiring harness. About $2500 to replace. After researching on internet, many people are having same problem. A technical service bulletin ya been issued to the dealers and covered by warranty to 72 months or 70,000 miles. My car has 88,200 miles. Most people that solved the problem in their own have said this is connection issue from the harness connectors to the igniters. They are vibrating loose. I am disappointed Lexus doesn't offer more support on this issue as it's severely hazardous for many in this situation. If it's a connection issue, it's ridiculous dealers are charging thousands of dollars to fix an entire harness. Can anything be done?.
