I purchased the vehicle on 17th of June 2021. I noticed the dashboard is cracked really bad. I did research on the Lexus dashboards and found previous recalls on the Lexus dashbaords including the 2004 Rx330 models. How can I get this fixed if the recall is not listed for the VIN number on my vegicle?.

Dashboard is cracking and exposing foam underneath. Concern that pieces will continue to fall off and taping or covering the dashboard may interfere with airbag deployment.

I own a 2007 Rx350 and the dashboard is sticky, gummy, shiny and melting emitting odor -- health hazard. The shininess reflects while driving locally and/or highway, and affects visibility. Apparently, Lexus is aware of these issues and tooks steps to rectifies these issues; however, I had mentioned these issues back in 2016 to my dealership whom didn't address it as a defect hence why I didn't think it was a defect until now since my dashboard recently started cracking. Apparently, there has been class action lawsuit for this issue, but didn't realize these were defects until I contacted Lexus regarding this matter -- unfortunately for me, they're not honoring fixing these issues because it's outside the warranty. This is not a warranty issue nor is it comestic; it's a defect.

We are the original owner of a 2007 Lexus Rx 350. The dashboard has been cracking and crumbling apart, posing a significant safety concern. For example, the airbag unit is built into the dashboard. Dashboard degradation also affects visibility as it reflects in the windshield and crumbling pieces fall off during driving. Upon further research, a 2014 class action lawsuit prompted a warranty enhancement in 2015-2017 to cover the dashboards of several Lexus model vehicles, including our 2007 Rx 350. Unfortunately, we never received any notification of this warranty program, so we were unaware of it until now, after it has expired. We have contacted our local dealership, stevens creek Lexus in san jose, California, as well as Toyota and Lexus corporate, without resolution. As we never received notice of the warranty replacement program, we would appreciate a goodwill coverage for replacing our dashboard.
On September 11,2019, at about 4:15 p. M I was driving on the southbound on ramp onto I-25 at the windsor, colorado on ramp (exit 262). I was traveling approximately 50 to 55 mph with the sunroof open/retracted. I was traveling straight, not turning, when it occurred. . I heard a large boom come from the roof and then the sound of safety glass cracking. I pulled over and found the sunroof glass had shattered. I could not find any rocks or other debris nor could I see any scratches or marks from any foreign object hiring it if that could have caused it. The glass roof was retracted into the other part of the roof at the time however so I do not see how something could have hit it with the roof metal roof protecting it from any outside objects at the time of breakage. There were no injuries as thankfully it was retracted. It did occur while traveling on an interstate with interstate speeds and could have caused injury from falling glass and/or cause an accident. I have attached a photo of the broken glass.
Started noticing several small cracks in the dashboard.
My dash is cracked and falling apart. I was told there was a recall on them but I never received it. When I asked the dealership about it, they told me that it was past the allotted time frame to get it fixed or replaced. I park in the garage at home and at work.
My cracked dashboard or a melted dashboard with glazed stickiness and shiny. I have a hard time seeing the road through the reflection on the windshield.
Melting/cracked dashboard passenger side - smells of chemicals - does this affect passenger airbag deployment? I have owned this vehicle for 4 years and was never notified of any programs - dash first started melting/cracking about 6-8 months ago long after their consumer enhancement program went away.
Dashboard cracking even though windshield screen used when not in garage. Vehicle kept in home garage as well as garage at hospital while I worked.
My oil line burst on my Lexus Rx 350 SUV and caused severe engine damage as a result. This is a very large leak which covers the ground, engine, and undercarriage. If the oil line ruptures while driving, the low engine oil message and engine oil pressure warnings will illuminate (which it did not, no warning, no illumination of lights) and will result in complete engine failure due to oil starvation. There was no warning lights ahead of time and then all the warning lights went off at the same time when I came out of the store to start the car, and it was towed immediately to a service center and was not driven when the panel lite up (the whole panel illuminated with warnings in every category with no warning to include tire pressure, oil light, engine light, battery light, air bag, srs, master light, brake light, power steering light, electric charging system light). The car has no damage to the undercarriage indicating this could not be the cause. The mechanic reports a defect in the oil line/pump, it cracked and should not have. They are reporting a very large leak that would have occurred thus damaging the entire engine very quickly. With a rupture of this magnitude no oil to the engine, the engine will be irreparably damaged, you cannot just replace . You cannot repair such a massive oil leak without warning because the damage can be done immediately with such a severe loss so suddenly. I never received a recall notice regarding this issue. The only way to fix it is to replace the engine. This is a catastrophe on a car that is in perfect condition, well maintained for all services with only 77,000 miles on it. Vehicle was stationary.
My complaint is not about the airbag but rather about the dashboard protecting the airbag! Lexus is aware of cracking dashboards in the Rx since they issued an extended warranty to replace these dashboards that expired 05/31/2017! my dashboard did not start cracking until April 2018 and has now started cracking in 5 different locations in just the last month, three of which are in proximity to the passenger airbag. When I took the car to my mechanic for an estimate to replace the airbag he mentioned the safety issue with the dashboard developing cracks in the area that protects the airbag. He said it was a safety issue and recommended that I contact NHTSA with a complaint about this potential safety issue. I purchased this 2005 model in Dec 2004 and it has been garage kept the whole time so these cracks are age related not weather related.
Takata recall dashboard is cracking and I did not get the recall to have it replaced.
Lexus dealer has confirmed that the dashboard will be replaced under warranty. But dealer has not replaced the dashboard in a year and will not provide an indication of when it will be replaced. During the year the warranty hasn't been resolved, the dashboard has gone from cracked, to now having pieces falling off. When it happens while driving, it presents a distraction to the driver, resulting in a safety issue. In response to a question to the Lexus dealer when this might get resolved, dealer indicated that the same problem applies to many people who are in the same situation and they cannot say when it will get resolved. Dealer said it is not a dealer issue, but a Lexus issue. Dealer says that Lexus will not send them the replacement dashboards and without them, the dealer can do nothing. In the meantime, the dealer acknowledged that there are many people not getting any resolution, even though Lexus acknowledges that this is a warranty issue. The dealer suggested that all of those with the warranty issue should band together to "pressure" Lexus to be more responsive because the dealer cannot.
Cracking and melting dashboard creating noxious fumes in vehicle. In late 2015, we noticed that our Lexus Rx400h's dashboard began forming cracks. While we initially thought this was a cosmetic issue, soon the dashboard began melting and stinking up the car. When we brought it to our local Lexus dealership for investigation (Lexus of kendall), we were told that there was a warranty enhancement program recently launched to replace defective dashboards. We were placed on the waiting list to get a new dashboard and were told we were #1 in February 2016. We have somehow moved to #2 on their list and have seen no progress on Lexus replacing our dashboard. Additionally, if you call the parts department and ask to order one they claim it will arrive in 5-7 business days. That seems unfair. Since the initial observation, the smell of the cracked/melted dash has become overwhelming, especially when it's hot out. We are hesitant to drive our vehicle because of these fumes.
Cracked dashboard issue (as per the so-called warranty issue per csc-10057809-9406). 10-months ago I was promised parts by Lexus of monterey, CA, and, I've since contacted them five or more times. . . No parts are forthcoming. The Lexus regional manager offers no help. What can I do?.

Dash is sticky, cracking and crumbling. Tailgate handle so sticky it has to be replaced at my expense of $180. Vehicle is garage kept. I have been on a waiting list for over a year. I would like a new car but no one will take this one.
Dashboard is melting and has numerous cracks. Dashboard is sticky to touch and causing glare on front windshield, causing reduced visibility. Cracks are around passenger airbag and is unsafe as a possible explosion of airbag may occur or airbag may not deploy during impact (when needed to deploy). Additional cracks around ignition and instrument panel, again unsafe condition. Door panels are melting and cracking. Inside door panel, material around window is now melting causing the plastic to remain on windows after they are lowered and raised. Again, unsafe condition, as visibility is reduced when trying to see out windows.
The dashboard presents multiple cracks with no apparent reason.
The Lexus Rx 330 is on recall by Lexus because the dash has developed cracks,I have been waiting 2 years for a replacement and was told by Lexus of orlando I am number 1024 on their list fro replacement. By the time they get to me according to my calculations the year will be 2095 at the pace that they are replacing the dashes. Also Lexus has a problem with their brake light switches, all of them seem to develop a problem where the vsc, brakes and abs lights all come on at the same time. This problem has happened to all three Lexus' that I have owned. They are aware of the problem because right next to the shifter is a small cover to bypass the hard shifter.
Earlier this year I noticed cracks showing up around my ignition, those cracks have spread up to the top of the dash on the drivers side. Now, there are cracks on the passenger side leading up to and around the airbag. Just this week, I noticed the dash is starting to get tacky and dust is starting to stick to it. I am beginning to be concerned. About the safety as it appears the dash is deteriorating more and more as the days go by and am concerned for anyone riding with me. I understand Lexus has been aware of this problem for quite sometime but have failed to correct the defective dashes.
Unknown date and time. Vehicle made alarm noise, turned vehicle off. Safety bag light came on and dashboard cracked; radio stopped working.
I have a severely cracked dashboard and a lot of the very deep cracks are over where the passenger airbag is located. This has been a problem for a few years now but lately it has gotten much worse in the area of the airbag. Lexus acknowleges the problem but they say it could be several more months or even years before they have enough replacement dashboards. I believe my dashboard is more of a safety issue than just cosmetic. Unable to attach photos but could email them to you if an email address is provided.
The dashboard is disintegrating. The car has been predominantly kept covered and well maintained. Initially a large piece (credit card size) broke off dash. We repaired with vinyl restoration company, and another area about a year later. Since then, numerous cracks are present - too many to repair. This is not normal wear!.
The dashboard has cracks, it becomes sticky to the touch and then cracks appears. Thought this was a problem with just my car but after searching on the internet I learned that this is a problem with the dashboard on the Lexus car. It odd that it started cracking above the area here the airbag is, at first just one crack then months later multiple cracks to the point they have joined together and now pieces of the dash is falling off. This car is garage kept, never left outside in the sun for any length of time, so sun exposure is not an issue.
Dashboard sticky, shiny and cracked all over. The hood is starting to rust.
I purchased my 2nd Lexus in 2011; by 2012 the dashboard was cracking, and in 2014 the dashboard melted. I reported the cracking problem to Lexus of orlando in 2013, and they told me it was due to type of spray I was using to clean the car. After researching the cracking and melting dashboard scenario, I read the customary response from Lexus to their customers is, ¿type of spray you are using to clean the car. I went back to Lexus in July on 2014, and this time they took pictures of the cracked and melting dashing. I did not hear back from Lexus therefore I called them for a status, and they forgot to report my complaint to the corporate office. Wow, remember this is a luxury dealership. After waiting another 2 weeks, I called Lexus of orlando again, and was told they did not hear back from the corporate office, and would call them for a response. After a few days, someone called be back just to report that Lexus would not do anything to repair my melting and cracking dashboard, and I need to prove my loyaty to Lexus. Really, what about Lexus loyalty to their customers to purchase a luxury car where the dashboard does not crack or melt? I am very disappointed in Lexus with their response and the unprofessional behavior of their employees in handling this problem at Lexus of orlando. It should not matter the year of a car; a dashboard of a car should not melt. I am frustrated and disgusted with Lexus.
After purchasing used vehicle noticed small cracks in dash appear above the glove compartment. Was brought into dealership for inspection and told could not be repaired. Over the last two years the cracks have become much worse and there are now two holes in dash where you see foam. Brought back to Lexus dealership for inspection. The regional customer service agent would only give 20% compensation on a $2000 replacement. Feel this is a inferior product and a factory defect. Have never seen this on a luxury car that is quality maintained.
I had visited the dealer several times to tell them first about my leather seats. The leather has cracked and the layer has peeled. And my dashboard has cracks and it is melted. Every time the car went into service I had spoken with several advisors and 2-3 service managers. They took pictures and they said that they will get back to me. I made sure I did all of this before the factory warrantee expired. Till this date my Lexus looks like brand new outside, and the inside looks like it is 100 years old. I will never buy a Lexus model ever again unless they make good and repair these problems. I bought this car because it was a pebble beach edition and paid top dollar for this car. You would think the higher priced cars would last longer and this one has disappointed me. I have a 2001 Ford f 150 and this truck is the best vehicle and half the price of the Lexus Rx 350. Please help me get my car fixed.
The dashboard is sticky and cracking. It started back in 2009-2010 when my fingernail would catch in the plastic when turning key ignition. Now there are cracks completely across the dash and pieces have fallen off. It is also sticky to the touch. Have brought back to Lexus dealer and twice they have not come back to me with a resolution from customer assistance. Have seen problem with other Lexus and Toyota vehicles and have had other cars in FL that have not had never had issues with the heat such as this. I am the sole owner of this vehicle since 2005.
