Ac or heating stopped working on passenger side and rear after not using it for a couple of weeks. I checked online and a lot of Rx350 owners have this issue.

I purchased this vehicle. It was advertised with 117,000 miles and I did an auto check and I was asked to verify if that was the correct mileage on the vehicle because the last check-in showed the vehicle to have over 250,000 miles on it so I am concerned that this vehicle misrepresented the mileage and possibly turned back the odometer.

This involved the cargo lid at the rear of the vehicle. I could have been killed or totally paralyzed by the incident. I have not brought the vehicle to a dealer, nor has any other authority inspected it. Also, there was no warning. During cold weather days, the lid would open normally and when it was fully opened it would start descending in small steps. I then would physically lift it to the full open position and it would stay there until I was finished (loading or unloading) then it would close normally after I pushed the "close" button. This particular cold day incident, I physically lifted it to the top then went to get a box to load. As I approached the vehicle the lid came slamming down with a bang. Had I gotten there a few seconds earlier my head and neck would have been inside the cargo area and the lid would have slammed down on my head or neck, possibly killing me or paralyzing me with a broken neck. On non cold days the lid operates normally. However, I now use a two by four to prop the lid in the open position regardless of the daily temperature.

I am writing to report a serious safety issue involving my Lexus Rx350. While driving on the freeway with my [xxx] child, I suddenly heard a loud explosion-like sound coming from the roof. To my shock, I discovered that the sunroof glass had shattered into pieces. Fortunately, the sunroof cover was closed, preventing glass from entering the cabin and potentially causing severe injuries. When I contacted my Lexus dealership, they acknowledged that another GX had come in just the previous week with the exact same issue. They insisted that a rock was the cause. However, I find it extremely concerning that a small rock could cause such catastrophic failure, indicating that the glass material may be dangerously flimsy. This incident has left me deeply shaken, as it could have resulted in severe injury or even loss of control of the vehicle. I am afraid for my safety and that of my family, knowing that this could happen again. I urge NHTSA to investigate whether this is a defect in the sunroof design or material quality, as it poses a significant risk to drivers and passengers. Please let me know if additional details or documentation are required. I appreciate your time and attention to this critical safety matter. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

From what I have been reading on that year and model, there seems to be major issues with the invertors. Like many I was driving on the highway and the vehicle just quits. This put me and many others in a very dangerous situation and I could have been hit at high rates of speed. If as many people are having these issues, then Lexus needs to step up and recall this part before someone gets killed.

On the Saturday (12/21) before christmas, my hatch door wouldn’t open with the key fob, push button in the vehicle or push button on the door. And the foot under the bumper opener has never worked for me. Anyways, because I couldn’t get my door to open, I ended up loading my groceries in the back seat. When I got home, it still wouldn’t work with the key fob or other buttons. One family member who tried to help me, pushed the door button and it suddenly opened after all the many attempts before. But then it wouldn’t close back. Just like at the store, it made that beeping sound but that it makes when it’s closing or opening, but it wasn’t closing. The next day on Sunday (12/22) I wouldn’t use it because I was afraid if it opened, it wouldn’t close back. The way we were able to get the door to close, was at least I thought it helped, I kept pushing the key fob and the door would allow my family member to manually push the door down a little at a time until it closed. When the door closed completely, we could hear it automatically lock like always. I had a few more christmas shopping errands and had to leave home again. I got in the car in my driveway and I shut the door and put the car in reverse and suddenly a loud pop and my entire back window shattered completely over into a trillion little pieces. I couldn’t believe it. I’m taking it into the park place Lexus dealership in the morning (12/27th) to see if the malfunctioning door is what caused my window to break. I can’t afford to keep replacing the back window over and over if the door is the issue. We taped the back window over so it wouldn’t rain into my vehicle. When we tried to open the door again, it wouldn’t work. So, I had to crawl through broken glass to cover my back window. Terrible experience. I’ve attached photos. On the left and right side of the windows, notice there are two strange holes there. The large hole is I assume where it popped at. My car is under warranty. I hope the dealership covers it.

My sunroof exploded while driving this morning shattering all over me and almost causing a life threatening crash.
There is an overwhelming super smell. Dealer says it’s from gas. I dont know but it’s making me sick. ,I’m afraid it is so bad it will affect my driving safety. I think it’s from the ac/heating system. I think it’s from mold. I’ve tried everything to get rid of it. I’m not alone either. Everyone has the smell. ,what if it permanently impairs me? while I’m driving? make them fix it. Please. ,.

Warning lights triggered snd certain electrical vehicle functions affected. Lexus plano dealer states that wiring is soy based and destroyed by rodents attracted to the wiring and chewing it with result that critical vehicle functions affected and lights, brakes, etc. May not work resulting in crash. Wanted more than $10,000 to rewire vehicle and refused to make repairs under vehicles’ warranty. Apparently common knowledge that Toyota and Lexus are using soy wiring that attract rodents and other animals to eat the wiring. I believe that crashes may be occurring because of chewed through soy wiring and misdiagnosed as driver error, brake, failure, fires, lights out, or other causes because no one is investigating wiring that caused crash. Wiring should be recalled as it poses death, injury, and property damage risks with manufacturers and dealers knowing of the defective wiring and of the risks but intentionally hiding the information, failing to warn, and then making huge profits from the expensive over-priced repairs that are unnecessary if proper wiring is used. We have dealer invoices and repair estimates snd other communications.
I was driving down the road with no one around and nothing falling or being kicked up in the air and I heard a huge crash, I had no idea what happened even after stopping at a gas station. Two days later after hearing the sound of ripping velcro as I was driving, I opened the sunroof bc it was a nice day and glass shattered and fell all over me. I shut to sunroof cover and realized the entire time that my sunroof exploded without warning bc it was not tempered correctly. Lexus refuses to fix the manufacturer error.
We were driving down the highway approx 60 mph on a clear day with very little traffic. All of a sudden I hear a loud explosion and then rattling in the roof. When I pulled off the road I saw that the sunroof was mostly gone. Luckily we were close to town and were able to seal the hole in my roof. If the sunroof had been opened I fear I may have wrecked the car.
I bought this car in March 2020. We took it to the kingsport, TN Lexus dealer sept. 14, 2020 for several warranty issues and a recall factory interior front door handle replacement. Today, 9/3/24 the front driver’s side interior door handle broke and the door cannot be opened from inside the car. Called local dealer who said that it was guaranteed for 12 months or 12,000 miles. I find this completely unacceptable. I am [xxx] and have driven cars for over 40 years and I have never had a car handle break. For this handle to basically last four years is unacceptable and unsafe for any Lexus driver. At this point I question as to whether the repair was actually made. If in fact replaced, I am shocked by the lack of quality in a repair that was to have fixed a serious issue. Driving a car when you cannot open the door is not something I recommend to anyone! I have called Lexus national customer service and they have opened a case. I do plan to have this repaired and I do not plan to pay for what I consider to be very low quality part replacement. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
When checking the emergency sos function in my car I found that it did not work. I called Lexus support and was told that the following safety systems would no longer be operative: Lexus enform safety connect including automatic collision notification; enhanced roadside assistance; emergency assistance button and stolen vehicle locator; Lexus enform remote including remote engine start/stop, door lock/unlock, vehicle finder, guest driver monitor, vehicle status and alerts, key fob remote start, and integration with alexa and the google assistant; Lexus enform destination assist including 24-hour live response center agent; Lexus enform service connect including vehicle health report, vehicle alerts, and maintenance alerts; these include safety systems that I rely on, especially when driving on interstate highways, and were included when I purchased my car. I had no warning that the services would cease to function in October of this year. Lexus states that these systems will no longer function because telecommunications providers will no longer support 3g service. This is certainly a safety issue for me and for other drivers and I believe that Lexus should be required to modify the hardware/software in these vehicles to function in a 4g/5g environment. Lexus representatives state that Lexus has no plans to correct these safety issues. I am requesting that NHTSA review this matter as a highway safety issue.
I was driving down a highway when the sunroof of my vehicle exploded. There were no cars in close proximity, so no rocks or anything were kicked up and could’ve hit the vehicle. It caused glass to fly in my face as I was driving and cut me as well as my autistic son who was in the backseat. A rep at the Lexus dealership said it’s not the first time he’s heard of this happening. There are numerous posts online about the same thing happening to drivers. Temperature change couldn’t have been a factor because it was a cool 80° summer day.
The sunroof of my 2023 Lexus SUV had a defect and shattered/exploded outwards due to a defect in the tempered glass while driving on the highway. The glass shards fell from the sunroof and cut my face while driving. I had to have a nurse remove the glass shards from my face. Fortunately in this scenario, it did not cause me to lose control of my vehicle on a congested highway. The sunroof defects with Toyota and Lexus vehicles have been documented by several customers online and through several class action lawsuits. The vehicle has been sent to a local Toyota/Lexus dealership for inspection and repair. There were no warnings, messages or other symptoms that the sunroof shattering/exploding could happen.
*three Lexus dealership service departments are unable to diagnose the stalling problem so I am unsure what component or system failed or malfunctioned. Yes it is available upon request for inspection. Stalling happens while engine is cold and at a certain temperature. Vehicle has been to three dealership service departments and two independant service departments and nobody can find out why it is stalling. No, no warning lights or messages just stalling. It first appeared a year ago and nobody can detect the problem.

We live on dirt road in kansas, and must drive 2. 5 miles to get to paved road. This Rx 500h sport does not have proper gaskets around the doors. We can actually see dust rolling into the front and back doors as we drive. We have had numerouslexus Rxs,& gxs over the years and never experienced a dust problem at this level. Again, we can actually see dust clouds entering the car as we drive down our daily 2. 5 dirt road trips.
The sunroof glass spontaneously exploded into thousands of pieces while driving on the interstate. There was no impact what so ever to the glass and the outside temperature was 95 degrees. The shattered glass fell into the vehicle and left a huge hole in the center of the glass panel. My safety was at risk due to explosion of glass while driving at an elevated rate of speed of 75mph. All while traveling over 100 miles from home and then having to drive the vehicle home with a gapping hole in the roof. The surrounding drivers were also at risk due to the glass flying off and hitting their vehicles. There were no cracks or failures to the glass prior to the glass exploding. There were no warning lights, messages or symptoms.
If you by mistake forget to put your car on parking the transmission does not lock by itself creating a hazard of movement of the vehicule that can cause an injury's or even worse. That was reported to the dealer and dismissed the issue as normal.
Lexus is still not providing 2 key fobs on delivery. They are not listing the 2nd key program (23lj01) as a campaign on their vehicle mobile software. The "digital key" is glitchy and not a safe and secure option - it seems to be a way for Lexus to periodically generate more profit at the expense of customer safety and security.
The fonts on the instrument panel are too small to read. Do not have this problem on current 2nd car or other cars driven.
We were driving down the expressway when our panoramic window exploded. There was no one around us, therefore it was not a rock that hit us. Thankfully, we had had the window tinted, therefore the glass didn't shatter around us. We took the car into the service department, and the service man said that it was a rock, but it was not a rock.
The driver side indoor door handle no longer works. Despite my model being part of the special service campaign 20lc02, dealer says that my VIN number is not covered despite it being the exact problem described.
I bought this vehicle from a private person and it look like it has odometer fraud. The odometer mark 85. 555 miles but it really has around 185. 555 miles or more not sure yet.

Gas gauge very inaccurate. Manual calls for 'low fuel' at 2. 6 gallons, actually comes on between 7 -8 gallons left in tank. Dealer accepts it is a problem but has no solution. Attempting to get full range may leave car out of gas on highway, since gauge cannot be trusted.
My car trunk could not be closed right after the year I bought it in July, 2020. I went to the dealer crown Lexus in ontario, southern California. They fixed it. Now it is happening again, I can not close the trunk by touching the button on the trunk or in the car to the left of the driver’s wheel. My husband and I went to see our younger son and grandson in richmond near san francisco via we stopped at the marriott overnight in san mateo for seeing a friend on the way during the christmas time from 22nd-25th, our whole trip was scared and bothered by the fact that we couldn’t get the trunk closed whenever and whatever unless we tried 4, 7, even 10 times. We were truly scared and concerned that we would not be able to continue our trip. My husband had to stand at the hotel parking lot in cold weather for an hour until I was able to went down to the parking lot to try to finally close it. This incident happened throughout our entire trip going to sf and being back home in apple valley. We were afraid that we couldn’t finish our trip. What a terrible experience! I personally guess that it is a design error, but I am not sure. Please contact me, and please solve the problem.
I was driving on the freeway in stockton California and I entered into a connecting on-ramp curve going about 30mph and a lady hit me from behind on the passenger side going 65mph as she was trying to change lanes to get behind me and my car instantly speeded up spinning out of control into a gully filled with stored freeway construction materials such as poles . The car kept spinning out of control because the ground was mud-slush from the rains. I kept construction poles came into my windshield, I kept spinning and sliding as I slammed into 2 trees and as the car sustained severe damage all over the vehicle and I kept slidding landing over in a second gully on the opposite side of the freeway. No airbags deployed no sensor went off nothing. I was in the car with my autistic daughter. The car is brand new. I contacted Lexus filed a claim and they sent me letter they don’t want to tak responsibility for their product liability.
