In motion. I repeatedly asked for the paperwork stating the full vehicle inspections completed and my contract but firsttx Honda sales refused. Responded but alerted the sales rep after going in person for the paperwork. Inspection paperwork to match their word. From my research this common issue has been ongoing for years back prior to my purchase in Nov 2017. Over a week ago the car suddenly splashed massive oil everywhere while driving long distance (have pic). Spoke with Lexus austin dealership service dept and immediately they knew the issue but referred me to corporate office. Recall dept also immediately identified the problem and advised me to seek mechanic. Because the warranty enhancement vzl for free repair by Lexus expired Feb 2019 this year. Therefore, it's no longer their responsibility to repair this ongoing common problem with Lexus RX 350 Lexus I'm stranded plus, I have a finance CA that will also negatively affect my credit rating due to this ongoing common problem Lexus and first TX Honda fail to own responsibility. The car cannot be driven at all due to life threatening,. Yet somehow, I'm placed in the position to pay repairs (with money I don't have) finance note for Lexus and/or wherever else erroneous behalf. It's not my fault this problem occurred after the Feb 2019 expiration date for Lexus to take full responsibility and repair. However n website:https://cars. Usnews. Vehicle was not locking properly. Took it to the dealership while it was still under warranty. I was told that one of the actuators was at fault, and it was repaired. About 3 months later, or 4k miles later same problem started happening again. This time, they are saying it is another actuator. At this rate, it seems like I may have to keep changing or getting new actuators. This would appear to be some sort of defect, and if the doors are not locking properly, I am afraid it could lead to some worse safety concerns. The door doesn't unlock or open accidentally. However, it doesn't lock automatically, unless it is manually locked. .

When driving uphill on a local city street, where there was a metal plate in the road, my Lexus Rx350, would detect the metal plate, and apply the pre-collision system. When I reported this issue to the dealership, they offered to shut off the pre-collision system as a work around. I was told that the system was working properly and that there was a "warning" about the potential for this to happen in the manual. I reported this issue to Lexus corporate as well. I could reproduce this issue and offered both the dealership and corporate to view the video. Both declined my offer. I am concerned for both for the future drivers of this Rx350 and those who are traveling behind who may have this Rx350 unexpectedly stop in front of them. I also asked but was not given an explanation, by either the dealership nor corporate, as to why this is not the same issue that was addressed in their recall number 15v728000, date 11/03/2015.
When I'm driving, the phone contacts are greyed out, locking me from accessing them to make a call. I can make a call using the voice command, but that is limited since I don't remember all my contact names off the top of my head. Called Lexus and they say that is a safety feature. However, if scrolling through contacts is a safety thing, then why can I access my favorite contacts and scroll through recent calls? this distracts the driver in making a phone call by "encouraging" her to manually dial the number off the phone dialpad. Yes, that's illegal and not safe. Hence this post.

2009 RX 350 lift gate rubber melted while vehicle parked in driveway in 88 degree heat north florida. All previous posts by car owners who had same issue were told this was due to a chemical or electrical issue which I am now concerned may be a fire hazard. Rubber is dripping off onto back of my car, I am pregnant and do not want to touch this melted rubbery liquid and therefore cannot manually open my trunk. Have been told dealer will not cover the problem, which is clearly a defective material.
The "engine maintenance required" light will not reset anymore after an oil change. . . Even after you follow the steps in the users manual. It used to work because I've done it before. Now, no matter what I do, it won't reset.

Rear switch assembly part #84840 failed. Car is subject to southern California temperatures and is parked in the garage. Plastic melted the rear door manual switch/handle and provide a melted tar like substance behind. No accident or any misuse was done to the vehicle.

Nav system manual entry is disabled when car is in motion. Forces user to use voice commands. Voice recognition is poor - has difficulty in recognizing words such as montreal, ottawa. Street names have to be exactly for example avenue main, if main is said it will never find it. Does not have the option of selecting intersection when driving. All this make the nav system a safety hazard. Driver becomes distracted trying to get the entry into the system. Slows down, drifts in lane. This is more dangerous than allowing the driver to enter data manually. There is an after market over-ride available - which the service manager says, if installed will not void warranty. But from a safety perspective, Lexus should offer a usable system or refund users their monies and disable a dangerous feature.
