Sunroof exploded on interstate with no other cars around. Thought we had been shot. Noticed air sound and started to open sunroof to have shards of glass fall on us. Closed roof. Pulled off as soon as we got to exit making sure that no one was behind us so that those pieces which were flying off our car would not cause a broken windshield for someone else or an accident. Took pictures of sunroof with huge hole with glass pointing upward. Nothing in the area between roof and sunroof closer. Took to dealer and were told it was covered only to find out that Toyota/Lexus denied. Denied by Lexus. Told to turn it in to our insurance. This car is brand new, less than 4000 miles on it. There were no warnings and it scared the heck out of me and my husband. Followed suggested cover for return trip home which just flew off.
Driving on i80e in iowa with cruise control set at 70 mph, warning light for awd failure came on, followed by engine light and all warning lights. Coasted into breakdown lane and had definite loss of power. Became aware of fire by fellow motorist running toward the car with fire extinguisher. Saw black smoke and fire coming from front of car. Forced to evacuate car on interstate, smoke in east and westbound lanes. The car was consumed in about 20 minutes. Insurance company- aaa - has inspected car. Unknown if Lexus has inspected. Remains taken to teo’s towing 563-888-1988. Please inspect. Air bags did not employ.
Knocking sound coming from the engine at ~50k miles. Took it to a Lexus service center and was informed that the sound was from a failing brake vacuum pump. If not addressed, the failing pump could make braking the vehicle extremely difficult and potentially cause an accident. The 2017 Rx350s have a recall for this exact issue but nothing for the 2016 Rx350s. Disappointed that a vehicle that has been diligently maintained with only ~50k miles is already having issues with failing parts that could cause a serious accident.

I when to a car wash facility and the ics sensor when crazy!!! (flashing the warning light). Now my car giving me a ics malfunction. The automatic braking don't work and the parking assistance neither. I believe this is a manufacturing problem due same car model and year experience the same but it has different VIN so there is not a recall for my VIN.

I was driving down highway and heard a loud explosion. I was very shaken up. It was a scary experience. I was traveling 220 cross lake bridge and at time could not pull over. I kept hearing crunching noise above me. I opened sunroof inside cover and that's when I noticed the sunroof was shattered and it was what had exploded.
I was driving home on us highway 82 and my driver side door opened while I was driving. I know the door was completely closed before I began driving. There were no warning lights or audible alarms until the door automatically opened while I was driving.

Bridgestone tires, tx8a ec1, size p235/55r20, are 2 years old with just over 14000 miles, and all tire thread is gone. Local tire store tells me that they must be replaced and he suspects manufacturing defects. Tires were rotated by Lexus at 5000 miles and 10000 miles.

Dear customere services, I got a notice for recall fuel pump may fail 1- I make an appoint with Lexus of las vegas for a recall on may 06, 2020 later on the Lexus of las vegas canceled my an appointment due to the part was not available 2- I make another appointment to bring my car for a recall with the same issue after 1 day they send me an email to canceled my services due to the part if the part not available or Lexus need to recall for safety if the vehiche stall occur while driving, this could increase the risk of crash Lexus do not need to send the recall notice to the consumer and later the Lexus dealer cancel the services due to tha part not available.
The software locator is defective & will send you to the wrong place. Lexus has a campaign to fix it thru 2022 where they update the software. Unfortunately they do not update the navigation software at the same time and that should be a requirement because the location software and the navigation software work conjunctively. Instead they want to charge you $400 for navigation update. Not satisfactory. I escalated this at Lexus customer service & it was not addressed properly. So Lexus wants to do the software update for the location services but they want you to pay $400 for the navigation update that works alongside it? sounds like a bait and switch to me.

Sunroof spontaneously exploded. I was driving about 45mph on my way to work during a rainstorm around 6:30am on April 23 2020, when I suddenly heard a very loud bang. I looked up to see that my sunroof had burst and there were glass fragments raining on my head. I closed the visor to prevent more glass and precipitation from falling into the vehicle, and pulled under an awning to assess the damage. The glass had burst outward (pictures attached), and there were no dents or chips on the outside of the vehicle indicating that it could have been struck by something. Other than the shattered glass, there was no debris on the inside of the vehicle. Additionally, at the time the glass burst, my vehicle was the only car on the road within several hundred meters, so this could not have resulted from any sort of road debris kicked up by another vehicle. I suffered minor cuts to my arms and head, but did not have any major injuries. My Rx350 had fewer than 24k miles on it and was 3 years old, so it should have been covered under basic warranty. Lexus ultimately denied any sort of manufacturer defect, and did not honor the warranty. I had the vehicle repaired at a Lexus dealership for $1,465.
While I was driving on the highway around 3:30 pm cst, my vehicle sunroof just exploded and the glass shattered. There were no vehicles in the front for at least 150 meters. I was on my way to the airport. The wind noise was loud and also I had booked the parking outside (non-covered) so I had to go back home and take my wife's car. In this process, I almost missed the flight. As per the weather report it was going to rain the next 3 days so I knew I couldn't park the car outside with the broken sunroof which would cause further damage. Fortunately, the sunroof was closed so when the glass shattered it didn't come inside and didn't hurt me. I am not sure what would have happened if it was open?.
While driving my 2014 Lexus Rx350 at 60mph on interstate I-10, my sunroof suddenly exploded outwards! no signs of road debris nor any other vehicles in vicinity after stopping, it was clear that the remaining glass showed that there was no impact and the glass shattered outwards. When investigating online, I noticed that this could be the result of a defect known by the auto industry including Toyota/Lexus. I am thankful that the interior shield for the sunroof was closed for the shattered glass could have entered the passenger compartment with possible injury.

Blind spot monitoring on passenger side only works about 50% of the time. Driver's side is fine. System on passenger side does not register or "see" about half of the vehicles when overtaking or being overtaken.

Vehicle stationary at a mobile gas station in laguna niguel. On or about 10/2019. While filling the gas tank with gasoline, instaed of the fuel being shut off while fueling and the fuel syatem was full, there was over flow of gasoline, causing fuel to flash back all over the person fueling and covering large areas of skin and clothing.
I am the original owner of a 2013 Lexus Rx350. On August 14, 2019 as I was parking my car and rolling into a parking spot, with my foot only on the brake pedal, the engine revved and the car accelerated forward. The car hit a curb and gave me the time to react and applied enough brake pressure to stop the vehicle before it went into the street into oncoming traffic. The next day I brought the car into my local Lexus dealership. They had the car for the entire day and could not find anything wrong with the vehicle. On August 17, 2019, the exact same thing happened as I was again rolling into a parking spot. Again with my foot only on the brake pedal, the engine revved and the car accelerated forward. This time I was not able to react quick enough as the car hit a concrete pole at the front of the parking spot. I had the car towed to the Lexus dealership. Over the next 30-45 days an independent engineer removed the event data recorder (edr)from the car and sent it to Toyota for analysis. On oct 3, 2019 Toyota responded that based on their findings of the edr the vehicle is not defective. In my own search of the internet, I found numerous incidents on unintended acceleration for the same year, make and model as my car. I have sent letters to the ceo of Toyota and Lexus but as of this date, oct 15, 2019 neither Toyota nor Lexus has acknowledged or admitted that anything is defective with the vehicle.

While driving down the highway at 65 mph the sun roof suddenly exploded. There were no other vehicles on the road and no debris. The roof had never been struck and we have never transported anything on the roof. The temperature was 65 degrees and the sun just rising so no significant temperature variations. The road was smooth.

When I try to start at the beginning of the day, I step on and break and press the ignition button, the car won't start and would give me a low break power light message. It will eventually start after about 5 or 6 tries. I only had the car since November 2018 and it already happened to me like 8 times.
I got into accident and no airbag deployed even at high impact and othe othe vehicle flipped over.
Drove 2007 Rx350 approximately 15 minutes and returned to residence. 3 minutes later, walked outside and car was smoking from engine area. Within a matter of 60-90 seconds the car was completely engulfed in flames and fire department immediately called. Fd arrived 21 minutes later and car was still fully in flames. Once fd extinguished flames, car was a total loss.

Blind side monitor on right hand side does not alert when passing trucks and cars at highway speeds. At lower speeds it works properly. When passing vehicles on the left the left side warning light comes on properly.
Pulled into hotel parking lot at 11:05am (perfect weather - parking lot empty) and ,after turning into the parking spot at a slow speed, the car suddenly accelerated and hit the side of the hotel. The building wasn't damaged, but the car had serious frontal damage. The hotel manager didn't call the police so there isn't a police report. The air bags did not go off. I feel there were several possible Lexus problems with this incident: the air bags did not go off even though there was over $17,000 in repairs (even the engine had to be removed),; the automatic braking system didn't engage; and the sudden acceleration of the car from a slow entry into the parking space. Currently the car is at a Lexus dealer waiting for the Lexus hired inspector to examine it. We have pictures and a complete list of repairs if requested. W e do not have a report yet from the Lexus inspection because it hasn't been inspected yet.
Poor braking, dangerously at times. Also has to hold gas nozzle almost all the time while filling up or the gas will shut off even the tank is not full.
While driving on the interstate I noticed something on the back windsheild, upon stopping at the vet to pick up my dog, there was oil all over the back windsheild. The rubber oil hose had developed a leak and within 5 miles I had lost all oil in my vehicle. Which has resulted in having the vehicle towed in for repairs to replace the hoses with the newly designed hoses. Apparently this is an ongoing problem with this model Lexus. . .
The center console and the area at the bottom of the driver seat as well as the vent for the backseat becomes extremely heated during driving. It's extremely uncomfortable and should not operate in this manner. I've taken it back to the dealer and they claim that it has something to do with a pipe beneath? this should not be. If the ac is on hot air is blowing out of the rear vent.
Was pulling into parking spot at the rear of mcdonalds', stepped on the brakes when I suddenly felt a thud. The car rolled back, and the seat belt locked. After a while I managed to do that, walked to the gas station across the street.
Rear auxiliary box lever faulty. Snapped off easily with minimal usage and conservative handling. With lever snapped off, lid to auxiliary box cannot be opened. No repair has been done yet.
Sunroof glass shattered while driving 60 miles an hour on a highway in maryland.
The collision protection system got activated by itself while driving at cretin location on cretin roads causing self hard breaking and the seat belt got full tightened , if car behind me , that well end to bad crash for sure one of the location where that always happens when passing threw ( regardless the single mentioned date) is on diffidence hwy , annapolis MD 21401 (one mile after crossing crownsville rd heeding west ) I called Lexus main office , they said they do not have recall on this model and was advised to visit a Lexus dealer , I visited Lexus of richmond virginia , they checked the car and they said that nothing wrong found ,.
The vehicle was approaching a stoplight and before coming to a complete stop, smoke emerged from underneath the car. Within a minute the car caught fire which completely burned the engine and the fire spread into the cabin. Prior to this incident, we have never experienced any minor or major issues with the vehicle. This vehicle also underwent regular maintenance prior to incident.
The heads up display unit causes a distracting reflection into the drivers eyes that interferes with vision while driving. This occurs when the car is stationary, in motion, on a city street and highway, and/or turning. This was not identified until after the new car was purchased.
This is a supplemental entry to modify complaint 11115465. It should be noted that the heads up display reflected sunlight directly into the drivers eyes causing serious distraction and a serious safety concern. Lexus corporation was notified of the situation through the dealership but did not offer any fix to the situation and the dealer reported that they were therefore not allowed to fix the reflection and remove the hazard. The complaint to Lexus is documented and more information can be provided upon request.
