Car goes into fail safe each and every time it is driven. It did so 19 times today. I connected a code reader which identified the problems as being related to the throttle control and the throttle body. I purchased the car 1 1/2 months ago. Prior owner had the throttle body replaced with a new mopar unit 4 months ago/ 2000. Miles ago. Don't want to replace it again since this is likely not the problem.
Drove about 30 miles slow down to a red light when engine went into failsafe mode but did not throw any codes. There was no check engine light at all. It took a couple of tries to get it running again. I am very concerned for my safety while driving extensively on highways without any clue as to how to solve this issue.

The transmission has problems shifting while driving and makes it dangerous to other cars around me.
Took transmission for repair. Transmission shop could not load new Lincoln software on new computer module. It has been two weeks at rowlett transmission shop and now the "engine side" of the new computer installed will not clear. Says there in an engine issue now. There was no engine issue before I took it to get the transmission fixed.
I was driving down the street went to a stop light stopped and as I proceeded to go it started sounding like a bus the sound underneath the hood of a car and it was acting like it was slipping I pulled over turn my car off got back in and started going again and it got louder the noise did it sounded like a big bus and it felt like it was pulling me dragging me back like as if I had the emergency brake on or something but I did not. Then I started to smell something burning light oil or something.

It was driving fine one day until I went to start it. It said etc engine fail safe mode, check parking brake and something about the gears. It starts sometimes, I've had it shut down while doing 50 mph and lose steering and bad braking. This is a potential hazard for my newborn in the car. Now it wont start and no one knows what the problem is. How can they sell a car that they cant find out the problem on themselves and sell it?.
Cars stalls while driving at high speed on highway or side street.
Tl- the contact owns a 2004 Lincoln Ls. The contact stated that while attempting to accelerate from a traffic stop, the vehicle would not respond. The rpm reading increased and the vehicle proceeded to lunge forward. The wrench warning icon was illuminated intermittently. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnosis, who was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 88,600. Kmj.
This low mileage vehicle (20,300 miles) shifts from park into reverse with a sudden lurch and thud. Also when accelerating in daily driving vehicle pauses and then a hard shift or two with lurch forward. Occurrences are increasing in frequency. No computer codes or warning lights illuminate. Called Ford/Lincoln customer service and was told that problem was similar to TSB 05612 but build date for VIN is 6/2005 so no further assistance offered. Safety is becoming an issue.
Pressed on accelerator and car jerked and stalled as red light turned green. The delay and sudden jerk almost causing a rear end collision in the intersection. Transmission has been intermittently surging for the las 2-3 thousand miles. Incredibly scary to drive this vehicle in normal traffic conditions.
When I be driving give it the gas the etc failed safemode jumps on have no acceration accelaration or power I have to pull over in traffic were ever we are at interstate, town it don't matter it is unsafe and I see a lot of these cars in this year or earlier have the same problem and don't know how to fix it.

My 2004 Lincoln Ls v6 sedan loses power and stalls. The wrench appears in the window and the engine light comes on. I have taken the vehicle to the dealer several times. Once the coils were replaced; most recently I took the car and the dealer was unable to diagnose the problem. This morning I was on the turnpike in high speed traffic and the car lost power, the wrench appeared and the engine light is on. I'm frustrated that a car with only 45k miles and in otherwise good condition can not be driven without fear of causing a major accident. The warranty hasn't covered the problem -- I've taken it to the dealer on numerous occasions -- and I've spent thousands of dollars. What is being done to investigate this office deficiency?.
Owner of a 2005 Lincoln Ls. Car shuts down and goes on throttle mode at any given time. It seems to occur after a heavy rain fall. This failure occurs several times a month and be very dangerous to drive. To supposedly correct this issue, I have taken it to a Lincoln dealership to be robbed because they can never figure out the issue. Please help!.
The transmission shift abruptly and very hard gear shifts at times. I also had the car loose complete power while driving at low speeds. I would press the accelerator but the car would not respond to the throttle input.
Vehicle runs very rough. Will not accelerate over 2800 rpm and shakes badly. Check engine light is flashing. Checked codes p0304 and p0306. Chop states it is faulty ignition coils.
Tl- the contact owns a 2006 Lincoln Ls. The contact stated that while parked with the gear in neutral he was able to remove the key from the ignition. The vehicle began to roll away. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 50,000. Da.
While driving suddenly the abs light, traction control light and the parking brake light came on. I immediately exited the freeway and pulled into a parking area and turned the car off. After calming my 87 year old mother down I restarted the car and none of the lights came on. I proceeded to start driving my car home and again all the lights came on. I contacted the dealer where I purchased my car and spoke to the service manager who informed me that they knew of this problem with the Lincolns and that I should bring it in which I did. I was informed that it would cost approx. $2,000. 00 to fix this problem because Lincoln only covers automobiles that are less than 10 years old or have less than 100k miles. My car has 109k but I feel that Lincoln should cover this since they have known about it long before my car had 100k miles and this is a very big safety hazard. I have taken excellent care of my car getting every oil change on time and each of the services that have been suggested. Lincoln has said they can't help me and the dealer says his hands are tied, what recourse do I have? also I have already had to have a new transmission put in my car.
My car rolled backward out of a parking spot at a mall. When it came to rest upon the bumper of a truck, it was still in park. The windows were up and the doors were locked. It was witnessed rolling backward with no one in the car.

Car has consistently just shut off while driving (roughly 30 times in the last year). Been into the dealer no less than 10 times. Had thousands of dollars of valve covers, coils, plugs gaskets, windshield wiper components replaced. No change. Car will still die whenever it feels like it. Lincoln/Ford could care less, and the dealer and field engineers seem tired of seeing my car. Constant movement of brake pedal in rhythm with windshield wipers. Dealer has tried to fix numerous times and the problem is worse now then when they started. Front brake pads rattle. Dealer says it is a known issue and I should just deal with it. Front seat backs fall down. Dealer and Ford blame my kids being in car seats. Never had a problem before they took seats apart to replace faulty seat heater. The transmission is awful. Been reprogrammed 3 times and new servos installed. Still does not shift smoothly, and very erratic. Shifts when it shouldn't and does not shift when it should. Car stalled and activated the alarm horn honking, lights blinking in the middle of an intersection. Car restarted. Next day car had dead battery and would not start. Could not even jump it as there was no power to open trunk and lock cylinder was frozen due to lack of use. Batery in trunk!! wheels had to be balanced 3 times then force balanced to remove excessive vibration. All at my expense had leaky reverse light replaced by dealer now have some piece of a fastener floating around inside the deck lid rattling. Clips for e brake are always broken and apparently 180 bucks to fix.
My car has numerous parts that tear up repeatedly, within a 6 months time. Valve cover gasket had replaced twice within a 6 months time. The coil packs go up very often. I had panel buttons just tear up for no reason three times! wheel caps replaced numerous times. Overheating issues, door locking issues, battery replaced twice within 2 years time. Ac issues, (I never used my ac. . At all) . This car has a lot of problems on the t. S. Bulletin. I contacted Ford in reference to the multiple issues I was having with the car, the company representatives told me to take the complaint to the establishment of which I had been dealing with. Then they said Lincoln is an independent owned establishment so I am totally confused by this whole ordeal, they know that they have had a lot of multiple problems out of that car. And they refuse to recall some of those (as I would say) hazardous issues. I was at the dealer 2 weeks ago, I was conversing with a rep. At the dealership and he was telling me how the Lincoln Ls was their most problem vehicle, and cash maker for repairs. (OH by the way. . . . . . . I researched to find this site. To answer the question in the consumer section).
Spark knock under load (passing or from 0) occurs with low rpm and high rpm under loads currently told to wait until Lincoln finds a fix since they have never heard or dealt with this problem before. Transmission has had repairs done also. Shifting has gotten better since reprogramming of computor. Since this is a unique problem to this vehicle complaints are not taken too seriously by Lincoln of canada.
Instrument panel was defective. Rpms and speed gauges would start turning/ radio suddenly shut off, and the vehicle would stall from time to time.
While traveling in warm weather and without any indication speedometer failed, giving no proper reading. Dealer has been contacted. Please provide further information.
Vehicle is equipped with an automatic/manual transmission combination. In the automatic position the vehicle hesitates for approximately 20/25 seconds before engaging into gear from park. The dealership has ran a diagnostic test 4 times but no failure codes were found. The dealership indicated that this issue is a characteristic of the vehicle.
