1 Brake Disc Pads problem of the 2011 Lincoln MKX

Failure Date: 10/25/2020

First of all, I have only had my car for one year. During this year my car is on its third time loosing its brakes. All times it has happened out of nowhere, and while I was driving and applying brakes to either stop or turn on a road. All three times I almost crashed. I know what I am about to say next, I shouldn't have done but I don't have a spare car and needed to continue to drive it until I could afford to get it fixed. I would drive extremely slowly with my caution lights on and break way before I needed to stop. After driving it several weeks, it would slowly fix itself back to working. This past weekend I took my daughters to the mountains to see the autumn leaves changing. Anyway, I can't imagine my daughters or myself surviving coming down the mountain and the breaks going out. Two days after being home, they go out on my while driving. I am so thankful and lucky that over the past year that no one has died from the brake failures, my family or someone from another family. All three times that my brakes went out it was while in motion. Highway, city and once turning. When it happened yesterday for the third time, I was applying brakes while pulling up to a stop sign and my brakes felt fine at first while I was applying pressure but then it was almost like it broke some sort of seal (or I had supper powers) and push straight to the floor. Very scary! I could feel something like rubber or parts kind of rubbing against each other, but no grinding of the actual brake pads. To sum all of the up, I am 50 years old and have only purchased cars that range around $5,000. I thought I deserved a nicer and safer car for once in my life. This car is the most dangerous car I have every bought and I would rather have a car without all the extras to have one that would get me to a location safely without putting my life or the life of someone else in danger.

3 Brake Disc Pads problem of the 2010 Lincoln MKX

Failure Date: 02/24/2020

Starting in early fall 2019, multiple problems with breaks, replaced all pads & rotors now x 2. Break peddle has intermittent spongy feel- isn't consistent pressure, sometimes is super hard to press down, other times press it for a long time and the vehicle isn't stopping. Peddle makes a hiss noise and sometimes strange clicks with very inconsistent pressure. Re- replaced all break pads again 2/24/20, our mechanic notified us its the break booster part failure. This is known year and part failure for our Mkx. I've called Lincoln. They refuse to offer us the extended warranty repair upfront, even though we've paid for breaks x2 in less than 6 months. This irregular brake peddle problem occurs on all roads freeway/ side streets. Our vehicle has 100k miles on it, well under their 150k mile warranty for this part and is 10 years. Lincoln we'd have to submit the receipt and maybe then our VIN will be included in the recall warranty afterward. I feel the safety of myself and our family is extremely jeopardized and Lincoln is trying to avoid responsibility to fix this known part failure at any length. (called micheal at Lincoln care on 2/27/20 case #cas25802085-v3k5d6) we also had purchased an extended warranty on this car for 36 months (but have just 4k miles over the miles limit), only month 28. We feel Lincoln is intentionally being dishonest towards their quality and safety of their product Mkx. I'm worried that there will be an accident. I'm not even asking to compensated for 2 sets of brakes in a few months, I am asking for the known failed brake booster part to be replaced through the Lincoln warranty (sb-10054925) for Lincoln to stand behind their car for the safety of my family and others on the roadway.

4 Brake Disc Pads problem of the 2010 Lincoln MKX

Failure Date: 09/19/2019

My brakes started making a hissing noise when the brakes were applied. The hissing sound became louder and I noticed the brakes were very hard to press and the even when pressing to the floor the car was very hard to come to a complete stop. I took the car to the shop and replaced the front brake pads. The hissing sound was still there along with a whistle sound. I was told the brake booster was bad. My car only has 138,000 miles on it. I was told to call to see if there were recalls. There is a recall on 2010 Lincoln Mkx however I was told that my car did not qualify although Lincoln is very familiar with this problem. Recall number for this problem which does not include my vehicle is 13n02.

5 Brake Disc Pads problem of the 2010 Lincoln MKX

Failure Date: 06/21/2019

Still waiting for air bags and noe my brake booster went out within a week. I did find that there was a extended warranty for some but my VIN number did not qualify. This to me is a life threatening. I've replaced my rotors and pads but in all 45 years driving, never brake booster. I'm sure I am not the only one with this problem as others have been given the extended warranty coverage. The fact that this is was done on some but not all, does not make safety sense to me. I almost hit someone but thank god I had been driving a safe distance back. As I stated, usually someone has had to die before a recall is in place. I don't want that person to me me.
