Failure Date: 06/01/2019

Takata recall. My airbag indicator light remains on. Based on research it indicates that my front airbags may not activate during an accident. This light appeared a few weeks ago. This is concerning as I often travel with small children and makes me wonder about the safety of everyone in the car. Unable to sale car due to this issue. I do not want to pay for a repair in which the makers of takata inflators are responsible for repairing.

2 Front Driver Side Air Bag Inflator problem of the 2014 Lincoln MKZ

Failure Date: 05/18/2019

I inform Lincoln motor company on my Lincoln has been recalled, which is happening right now to a record number of americans, but it's even worse when you know that your car has been recalled and can't get the manufacturer to service it at a dealership. When you're told that there are no parts or no technicians to fix your car, what do you do? I was told it's not that bad and didn't need to be replacing right now. Had my car in to be service on recall 18s08, that is when the dealership didn't put the lug nuts back on my car, and the wheel fell off the car causing damage to the front end of the car. The lugs nuts swell, crack and delaminate to the point special tools are needed to remove the lug nuts. Had 3 blowout due to the wheel frame was bent, and was replace during the damage the dealership done to the car. Picture was provided to Lincoln motor company. I was notified by Lincoln about NHTSA 14v-597, and of the date still not repaired. Takata airbag inflators that could explode violently despite containing a chemical meant to lessen the risk of the shrapnel-shooting ruptures. But Ford is looking to avoid another costly recall. Can't find the natsa# my Lincoln now under investigation for brake failure. A significant defect can make my car unsafe to drive. I've been having the idiot light come on with lightning bolt words check your brakes. The message I got was they were going to close the case# because they have no remedy for me. They discover my warranty on the car is running out and don't want to be bother with the problem.

3 Front Driver Side Air Bag Inflator problem of the 2009 Lincoln MKZ

Failure Date: 07/06/2018

Takata recall> notice 16s26 / NHTSA recall 16v-384< I was notified by mail of a recall over 5 years ago on the inflator of my passenger airbag but Ford had not yet arrived at a decision on how to fix the problem. Notification would be sent when they had a resolution. I began to regularly follow up with dealerships inquiring about the availability of replacement parts for my cars recall, but was repeatedly told they were still waiting for any parts to be provided to them. Recently, July 2018, I received a notice from Ford stating that "a repair is available for your vehicle" in big red letters. It goes on stating "parts are now available for your vehicle". Details of recall and instructions for me to schedule my car for service led me to call my local dealer to schedule a free repair. Unfortunately, the service dept informed me they still do not have the replacement airbag modules (as of October 2018) so once again, I am left waiting for a resolution after 5 or more years of waiting. Ford was given more than adequate time to resolve the issue. If the problem was serious enough to prompt a full product recall, and force Ford to pay $299. 1 million settlement in a class action lawsuit, then it is serious enough that Ford shouldn't still have all of the unsafe vehicles waiting for parts. Furthermore, for Ford to prematurely notify owners that parts are ready for installation in their local dealership serves to prove they don't take the matter seriously (since the vehicles are 10 years old now) and respect for the safety of their customers is not a priority. Please investigate this issue and hold Ford accountable by taking action, a deadline should be designated within which Ford must furnish parts and begin servicing afflicted vehicles. I believe corporations should be held to a higher legal standard because of their likeliness to cause negligent injury on a massive scale.

5 Front Driver Side Air Bag Inflator problem of the 2007 Lincoln MKZ

Failure Date: 06/05/2018

Takata recall I received notification last year staying my vehicle was impacted by the takata airbag recall and that the passenger airbag in slayer needed to be replaced immediately as it would cause bodily injury and or death in the event of an accident or the airbags becoming activated or deployed shortly after I went to the NHTSA and Ford motor company and Lincoln motor company website to gather further information to receive in schedule a replacement or repair to correct this dangerous problem however Lincoln the maker of my vehicle suddenly did not acknowledge my vehicle being impacted by this recall today June 5th 2018 I am now receiving an important safety recall notice regarding the passenger airbag inflator and that it again can cause injury or death in the event of the airbag being deployed I am not a investigator however if there is been an issue with the airbag I don't see how there would suddenly not be an issue with the airbag in other words why was I unable to obtain to repair or information let alone acknowledgement from the dealership or forward slash Lincoln motor company when they previously advised me that my vehicle was impacted by the takata airbag recall however I find it extremely odd that there was a period of time where there was suddenly no issue with my car and that it was suddenly no longer impacted by the recall when it is now June 2018 then I am receiving an urgent safety recall notice from the Lincoln motor company which clearly outlines the severity of this issue as the Lincoln motor company is offering to provide me with a rental vehicle that only covers $45 per day does not include fuel or insurance and that the parts to repair my vehicle so that it is safe to operate again has no eta or estimated time of repair due to absolutely no time frame or even a general time frame as to when the parts will become available so with that being.

Failure Date: 03/05/2018

Takata recall we purchased a 2010 Lincoln Mkz from a Lincoln dealership now owned by "Ford galaxy" in houston, TX and have owned the vehicle for 8 years. In July 2016 we received "safety recall notice 16s26" indicating passenger airbag inflator should be replaced and that if a crash necessitating airbag deployment may result in metal fragments striking vehicle occupants causing serious injury or death. Since July 2016 we have on numerous occasions requested the airbag inflator be replaced. The Lincoln motor company's response has been "we do not have the replacement parts. " in December 2017 we received a second recall notice that stated we should "not allow anyone to sit in the first row passenger seat". For 8 years we have been driving a ticking time bomb. It feels like a page out of the old Ford pinto playbook. The Lincoln service manager at galaxy Ford told us this morning that they still do not have replacement inflators. From an owner's perspective, it is unimaginable that lmc cannot find replacements for the defective parts in less than 2 years! is there anything you can do to help resolve this problem?.

25 Front Driver Side Air Bag Inflator problem of the 2011 Lincoln MKZ

Failure Date: 07/01/2016

Takata recall. I received a letter in July 2016 that my passenger airbag was on recall. The letter stated:" a ruptured inflator may result in metal fragments striking vehicle occupants causing serious injury or death. " it is now sept. 21, 2016 and I have been calling Lincoln company asking when will my airbag part be available. It was learned that Lincoln is "in the development stage" to produce the part! not only do they not have a part, they have not even developed the part yet!!" I spoke to three different people at Lincoln customer service and a supervisor about this situation. They all stated they have no idea when a part would be available, even though I am in florida zone a for the most serious case of inflator malfunction. Since receiving the letter, I have not allowed anyone to sit in the front seat passenger seat. . . . . And will not until this matter is fixed. Hence, I have not had the use/enjoyment/comfort of the automobile that I purchased. This is very unacceptable. The worst part of this to me is that the three people I spoke to at Lincoln said, "it is safe to drive the car and use that seat, since the letter did not indicate a loaner car would be issued. " how in the world can anyone get a letter like this and then the company say the likes of "OH don't worry. "???? their logic is totally insane and illogical. Unfortunately, I understand that over 50 million cars+ are on recall for this matter and it is a nightmare for the car companies. However, I can not worry about them, I have to worry about my grandson, or any other passengers! how long will I have to make people sit in the backseat of my car?????.

27 Front Driver Side Air Bag Inflator problem of the 2010 Lincoln MKZ

Failure Date: 07/01/2016

Takata inflators: I purchased my Lincoln Mkz to have a safe family vehicle to transport my 4 month son to and from the hospital over 200 miles away every day! July 2016 I received notice that there were safety concerns with my vehicle and I would be contacted when parts arrived. Then in December 2017 I received another notice saying the same information but also included there are to be no passengers in this vehicle. This vehicle was no longer serving a purpose for my family to get to the hospital with my son. I received another notice in June 2018 that my vehicle was no longer to be driven and I just received my rental car on July 10, 2018. . . There is still no parts currently being distributed in order to repair my car. My vehicle has sat, I have had to pay a mechanic to come flush it and put in new batteries etc to maintain it after not being driven. I am very grateful to receive this rental car now however, it hardly seems to make it better after paying on a car for two years that was not deemed safe and fully functional. I know that this situation has caused many distraught customers, however for me and my son who was fighting for his life, this situation has truly been a hardship. My son's needs unfortunately, put me in a place where I can't just "upgrade". The vehicle was purchased November 2015 with 21,300 miles and today it still has less then 39,000 miles due to it being unfit. A most devastating challenge to my family. I have all supporting documents should anyone wish to see them, I am happy to provide it. At this point it will be hard turning back over the rental car as I finally have the means to care for my son, going back to the sitting Lincoln will just bring more problems. I hope someone can understand how emotionally damaging it has been for a family to wait two + years to drive in their vehicle during the most difficult times in their life.

32 Front Driver Side Air Bag Inflator problem of the 2009 Lincoln MKZ

Failure Date: 05/16/2009

Takata recall. In the month of July 2016 I received a letter from the Lincoln motor company, dated July 2016 stating "when parts become available for safety recall 16s26, the Lincoln motor company will notify you via mail to schedule a service appointment with your dealer to have the passenger frontal airbag inflator replaced. " two phone calls to dealer on 8/8/16 regarding this matter have not been returned as of 11/9/16. Four months seems to be a long time to get this issued corrected as it puts members of my family in harms way anytime I drive the car with a passenger in the front seat. How long is this expected to take for parts to be available and then how long will it take for the dealer to handle the replacement? four months of a known safety hazard not being fixed is too long in my opinion.
