Side/window Air Bag Problems of Lincoln MKZ

Receved a safety recall notice letter. I need a rental car or loaner car from dearership for my own safety while I await the repair of my defected driver side air bag. My vehicle is not safe to drive at this point.

The contact owns a 2011 Lincoln Mkz hybrid. The contact stated while making a turn from a stop sign, the steering wheel became hard to maneuver. As a result, the vehicle was hit on the front passenger side by another vehicle. The contact stated that the front passenger side air bag deployed injuring his girlfriend. His girlfriend sustained cuts to the stomach as the contact stated it seemed that metal shrapnel had deployed from the air bag. The passenger in the rear middle also sustained injuries to the hip. Medical attention was required. A police report was filed. The contact stated prior to the collision, he contacted st auto sales inc (4545 glenwood rd, decatur, GA) to make them aware of the steering wheel failure. The contact stated that they advised him to add steering fluid to the reservoir. The vehicle was not taken to an independent mechanic or dealer for diagnosis after the collision. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 120,000.

Takata recall: I am filing a complaint regarding the continued delays by Lincoln/Ford to resolve my passenger side airbag issue. This has been going on for appx 2 years and is absolutely ridiculous. The NHTSA needs to force them to resolve the issue soon, or have Lincoln/Ford replace the vehicle. They are dragging their feet. We continue to receive letters that say the solution is coming, but we see no tangible resolution and the date keeps getting pushed out.

Takata recall. Over 2 years ago Ford motor CO issued a recall for my vehicle for the passenger side air bags. Ford is doing nothing for me and is ignoring my requests for help. They actually sent me a letter that instructed me to not use the front passenger seat in my car. How ridiculous is that?.

Takata recall on the passenger side air bag. Safety recall notice 18so1/NHTSA recall 18v046 from lilncoln motor company received may 2018 advising rental vehicle available with an allowance of $55. Inquiries with Lincoln dealerships in myrtle beach, nc (beach Ford myrtle) and wilmington, nc (capitol Ford Lincoln) advise rentals limited. I am #50 on the wait list at beach Ford and #86 on the wait list for capital Ford . The wait lists have been stagnant for months regarding these two dealerships. Your action is needed to prevent passenger injury from the passenger air bag.

Takata recall I have a safety recall for my passenger side airbag, however the fix is not available and no set date as to when it will be. I have a family of 4, and it says ti just not have anyone sit in the passenger side until this part has been replaced. I geel something more should/could be done.

Tl-the contact owns a 2007 Lincoln Mkz, the contact had received the recall notice from Lincoln dated June of 2017. The contact called Lincoln and was advised that airbag parts would not be available for another year to complete the recall. Nhtsa recall number 16v384000 passenger side airbag, exceeded a reasonable amount of time for repair. The vehicle was taken to bob thomas Ford illinois rd ft wayne in 46804 260-436-3673, where the contact was again advised by the service manager that parts were still not available and would not be available for another year to complete the recall. There was no failure experienced with the vehicle. . Cb.

I received a recall letter on my passenger side airbag nearly one year ago. To date, I have not received notice that this airbag will be replaced. I have not allowed a passenger in the front seat of my car this past year. I have contacted Lincoln several times asking when my airbag will be replaced to no avail. Help!.

My 2010 Lincoln Mkz car was struck in the drivers door on 15 April 2011 by another car at an estimated 45 mph. Side impact airbags failed to deploy resulting in driver and passenger being badly injured. Both vehicles were totaled.
