The contact owns 2005 Lincoln Navigator. The contact stated that they had to replace the engine since the head gasket was defective and there was a piston that caused metal shavings to enter the engine. The vehicle was diagnosed by the dealer several times since a knocking sound was in the engine. The dealer was unable to find the source of the knocking sounds in the engine. Since the vehicle was 5000 miles over the warranty the engine failed. The dealer inspected the engine and stated that in needed to be replaced. The failure and current mileages were 55000. When initially starting motor it revs high, and upon take off engine continues to rev high. After having the motor mounts replaced, the problem still persists! the dealership has now found a "knocking" sound in the engine and said it would need to be torn down. Since then they are now saying that they cannot duplicate the noises and nothing is wrong. Only a few days ago they notified me of the knocking noise, which I was unaware of.
