Car purchased in Feb 2022. November 9, 2023 after a couple of previous complaints about the car riding rough, this time , after telling them the car jumps and throws into the next lane, it was diagnosed as having passenger rear leaking strut, front pinion seal leak, front driveshaft c/v joint torn and leaking grease. These were repaired under warranty. Dec 2024: had noise and had vibration felt through floorboard - diagnosed with problem in front differential and found carrier bearing failure and damage to case from bearing failure/spun. The axle housing assembly was replaced. April 2025: transmission shifting hard and clunk noise as well as riding rough again. These transmission assembly will be repaired for known problems on original 10 speeds but they don’t fix until customer complains, the rear differential pinion seal is leaking and the front struts are leaking. Something is very wrong with the suspension, drive train and transmission in this vehicle.

I bought new 2024 Lincoln Navigator in March 2025. From day 1, the vehicle rattles and vibrates above 40mph. The vibrations are high pitched and lead to whole car shimmering. I had all four tires and wheels replaced by the dealership. The vibrations are significantly intense when compared to normal road feedback. The vibrations lead to excessive fatigue and tiredness over long distances travel. Lincoln has issued service bulletin and no fix has been found so far.
From the initial test drive, I have felt an unusual vibration felt in both the steering wheel and seat while driving the vehicle. This vibration becomes more pronounced at higher speeds, especially after 70+ mph, but still noticeable at lower speeds at 45+ mph. Tires were initially blamed as the underlying cause, and the original tires were completely replaced within the first month of ownership, but the problems continued. Subsequently, at the 2nd month of ownership, the new set of tires were completely replaced again (this is now the 3rd set of tires), and the problem still persists. Dealership tells me that Lincoln engineers are aware of this situation, and that other owners of the 2024 Lincoln Navigators and 2024 Ford expeditions have complained about this same concerns. Besides the vibration, the ride quality of the vehicle is terrible, and appears to me that the adaptive suspension is not performing as expected. I had a 2022 Lincoln Navigator which did not have any of these issues, and I know how this vehicle should ride and feel, and I know that this particular vehicle is not handling and riding as designed. Vehicle has less than 3000 miles on it and is on its third set of tires, and the underlying issue has not been identified.
Tires keep losing balance. From my initial test drive of this new 2024 Lincoln Navigator l, I have noticed a rough ride and vibrations, especially at highway speeds. Initially, 1 tire was identified as not being able to be road force balanced within spec as the cause of the vibration and that tire was replaced. Within a short period of time, the rough ride and vibration issues reoccurred, and the dealership stated that two additional tires were determined as no longer being able to be road force balanced within spec and needed to be replaced. It was then suggested that all 4 oem pirelli tires be replaced with a full new set of michelin tires. Shortly thereafter, the rough ride and vibration issues cropped again and it was determined that all four michelin tires would no longer road force balance within spec and they were replaced with an all new set of four michelin tires. Those tires have now been road forced balanced twice more, with tires needing to be rebalanced. Even though the dealership service departments have tried, no underlying suspension issues have been identified as causing all these tires to need rebalancing. I have even taken my vehicle to an independent tire shop to assess if tires are out of balance, and they verified that they were and performed a road force balance on them, however within a matter of weeks the tires needed to be rebalanced again. In total, in the 4 months that I have had this vehicle, it has been at the dealership service department for more than 25% of the time with no determination as to what the underlying cause of why tires need to be rebalanced so frequently, or fail to the point that they no long rebalance and need to be replaced.
The vehicle has a vibration at interstate speeds 70-85 mph. The dealership has rebalanced the tires that came on the car, installed new tires and road forced balanced, replaced transfer case, rear drive shaft, but different size tires on car, and done another road force balance on the 2nd set of new tires that were put on car. Fse told dealership to give the car back to us and there was noting else they will do even though vibration still remains. Dealership put in it's service notes that the condition still remains, but was told to give customer back the vehicle. We have put less than 700 miles on the car and dealership has put close to 1100 or so miles on it test driving after repairs each time. This vibration could cause bearings, gears, and drive train failure that could result in potential death at highway speeds. Upon investigating this problem I found this to be a issue with the 2024 Lincoln Navigator throughout the us. I have requested Lincoln buy the vehicle back and was told they would not. My case number with the Lincoln customer service is [xxx] . Teresa 888-214-2155 ext. 77992 is the representative. I would ask the NHTSA to investigate this problem for us consumers out here. Luckily we were just leaving her basketball game and we’re on a side street. This SUV was supposed to be our primary vehicle. It is extremely unreliable and unsafe to drive. After last nights horrible experience there is no way we will take this vehicle back. It’s very unsafe to drive. ** no warnings!.

Major rust problems that effect the safety of driving the vehicle. Vehicle will not pass PA state inspection. Hood latch rusted. Possibility of hood opening. Rust holes in rocker panels. Frame cross supports. No enough space to explain. Please see attached pdf.
This vehicle was mis-built without its towing suspension system installed. The VIN and other manufacturer (mfg) -produced documents state that this vehicle has a self-levelling system which inflates suspension air bags upon connecting a trailer. However, this particular vehicle (per the dealership) is missing any type of self-levelling suspension system. This mis-build means that - when a trailer is connected - the headlights point upwards instead of front and/or slightly down to show the road conditions, which makes that alone a safety hazard. Upward lights may also impact oncoming traffic by blinding other drivers. My husband informs me there are other safety concerns that go along with this, but I do not understand all the physics of how towed vehicles operate so I cannot explain further how my safety, and possibly others, are risked when towing a load with this vehicle or others mis-built like it. The dealership purchased my vehicle back from me and it remains on their lot today instead of being sold at auction as stated. I found that another vehicle (2 years newer, but same mfg) was mis-built without its towing suspension system. I reported both issues to the dealerships. In the case of the potential replacement vehicle, I simply did not buy it. I reported both instances directly to the mfg and was told that was an issue for which the dealerships were responsible. I am concerned that this mfg has a known issue with a particular build of vehicle and is ignoring potential safety issues. I am concerned that their dealerships are also ignoring the problem instead of fixing it. I would like someone with more knowledge than me to investigate this matter and, if necessary, get the problems resolved to include further remuneration to me as applicable. I have documents, but am not sure what's relevant to upload. Thank you.

Air suspension will not pump up, ripped off oil filter car bottoms out and vehicles lose control.
A notification appeared on the screen to check suspension while driving on the freeway at least 65 miles per hour.
The car was brought in for a routine service which consisted of a oil change and tire rotation. After removal of tires it was evident that the real axles nuts were only hand tight and not torqued as the nylok locking insert did not deform elastically over the threads. I think if they dont have a signed off manufacturing plan, traveler or operation sheet clearly indicating that this is an isolated case they should be recalling 24 hours worth of production before and after this VIN went through this assembly procedure. If this is not accomplished how can they determine root cause and corrective action to determine whether or not consumers lives are at risk on a large scale. This truck has had many more problems but this one clearly deserves to be highlighted and resolved immediately!.

Takata inflators do not work in cold weather. Below a certain temperature the car begins to bounce uncontrollably. Makes for a dangerous situation when driving and this begins to ocurr.
Tl-the contact owns a 2006 Lincoln Navigator. The contact stated that while driving various speeds, the air suspensions malfunctioned. The contact stated that the air suspensions were lowered to the point where the contact could not steer the vehicle or make sharp turns. Allen visual Ford of monroe, georgia was made aware of the failure and replaced the air suspensions but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was apprimately 90,000. Ad.
The rear suspension issued a warning to check rear suspension. The car bottomed out multiple times, coming to barely a few inches from the rear tires. I took this to the dealer in 2015, while it was under extended warranty, not sure of what was found at that time, have requested a repair ticket from the dealer. Now Aug/sept 2017 having the same issue again. Have taken to dealer and they put it on diagnostic machine, machine could not find anything wrong with the car. But dealer said the car had a code stores in it showing a left read leveler problem, which they replaced and the problem still is not fixed. Currently it is sitting at the dealer's shop. The vehicle does this when setting still and also when in motion. I consider this very dangerous.

Air suspension will not inflate on time when driving away. Front air. Bag suspension deflates completely every time vehicle is turned off. I now have to buy my front wheel well covers due to this problem. . . . Car was in motion when this happened on a city street.

In cold weather the cars air suspensions stops working and the car starts bouncing all over the place while driving. This to me is dangerous especially on when occurring on long trips. This is a common problem that I am seeing all over the internet.
The contact owns a 2004 Lincoln Navigator. While driving 25 mph, the vehicle began to vibrate and jiggle severely. The contact mentioned that the front of the vehicle was lower than necessary. The vehicle taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the suspension failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
The contact owns a 1998 Lincoln Navigator. While driving approximately 65 mph, the rear of the vehicle independently swayed from side to side without warning. In addition, the contact mentioned that the brake pedal was depressed, but failed to respond and the rear of the vehicle began to scrape across the ground. The contact mentioned that the vehicle stopped independently. After inspecting the vehicle, the contact discovered that the lug nuts on the rear passenger side wheel fractured and caused the wheel to disengage from the vehicle. The entire rear of the vehicle was fractured. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the frame, the drive shaft, the trans axle, the transfer case, the rear axle, the bearing, and the rear lug nuts needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 69,000.

Wheels are not safe and very dangerous and randomly breaking off all screws while driving and ruined the frame and drive shaft transmission suspension etc. . . Highway 10 west and vehicle became unstoppable as brakes also new but failed without 4th wheel this occurred 1st on morning after st patricks day 2016 and the tires were good and wheels were bolted with lugnut impact drill and mechanic said thers a recall and the original owner was unaware but Lincoln claims they tried to fix before in 1999 but anaheim was fraudulently claiming repairs that were never completed because the owner always only went to the dealer where purchased new and the warranty was in effect 69,863 miles .
Air suspension does not work / inflate when car is cold, there sometimes no warning that the shocks are down and could make driving dangerous . Making car uncontrollable when the car will roll over bumps or uneven terrain please issue a recall for all Navigators since 2003 or older with air suspesion shock does not inflate when stationary / does not inflate when in motion tire rubs on fender wall making turns, there is completely no shock absorption when car is on freeway or on surface which makes cehicles very unstable and could cause major accidents if driven by inexperienced or experienced drivers.
I was driving about 40 mph on a rode a drove everyday something broke on my 98 Lincoln Navigator . The guys who flipped it back over said the suspension broke I scraped a guardrail then straight across the road head on with a tree I flipped up on my headlights spun like that then rolled 50 more feet down the road it knocked me out on impact but a friend was in front of me and seen the whole thing I had a severe concussion and broke my back n four places none of the airbags deployed I would not recommend this type of vehicle for anyone there are so many complaints about the suspension and air shocks not working my sons almost lost their mom bc the suspension broke it was a very well maintained vehicle one owner be fore me who took very good care of it I only drove it for 5 months about 20 miles aday to work in back it was not lack of maintenance or anything like that.
Air suspension on my vehicle begins to bounce in cold weather. Apparently this is a common issue. It is due to a faulty o-ring. I was on a long distance trip and ran into cold weather and the car started bouncing uncontrollably. I feel this could be very dangerous in certain conditions.
Engine starts to knock an shake very loudly while coming to a complete stop from simply driving 45mph or it completely lloses all power as I'm driving an a loud poppig explosions coming from the exhuast an they are loud enough were people hehhave pulled up next to me to let me know an afraid the car may blow up. Air suspension dose not come on when it's cold an drives very poorly an misleading to other drivers an law enforcement since I've been pulled over for possible dui because the car is all over the place an jumpy. The radio cuts in an out as I drive, the cruise control doesn't work. I've taken it to 3 different mechanics they all say the same thing take it to the dealer because they can't seem to figure it out. So I took it to galpin Lincoln in van nuys, CA on roscoe blvd an sepulveda an they just found one fuel injector needing replaced an wanted me to $2,500 for labor alone to completely open up my engine an see if it could possibly be the timing chain an realine the camshafts but they are not certain that's actually the problem with my Navigator because they can completely do all that an come up to be fine an be something else but unless I pay $2,500 for labor to just see if it is an have the chance it could not be I still lose those $2,500 because it's a non refundable. Where am I going to come up with that kind of money not alone why am I having to pay that first to see if it's a maybe the reason of all my car problems. Honestly that is ridiculous an not going to pay that kind of money on a maybe answer not a 100 percent we are sure that's the problem. Something needs to give an heaven forbid my car does blow up with my son's in the car driving it just because I needed to pay that amount on a maybe answer is un called for.
The motor running boards, the aluminum piece that suppose to hold the running boards to the vehicle, broke off without any warning. How does this happen? I am driving, stop at the light and make a left turn, and all of a sudden I hear these sound like my running board are sliding out. I pull over and the entire running board is hanging out completely away for the vehicle. Luckily there was no other cars beside me. I had to push it back in and drove very slowly so it would not fall back out and hit another car. This is dangerous and could have cause a serious car accident. The running board needs to be checked on all 2006 Lincoln Navigators as soon as possible.
My 2004 Lincoln Navigator dropped down on the drivers side front. I took it to a mecanic and he said it was the height sensor in the meanwhile while they ordered the part and a week later it got to the shop I drove it and of course with all the bumping around the front passenger side dropped now the Lincoln really bounces I took it to the shop to get the sensor installed went back to pick it they tell me that wasnt the problem now my pump dont work and my front end is really low. Now im stuck with no suspension and something more than likely is going to happen either a blown tire because of the rubbing on the tire wall or a car accident. This is my daily driver back and forth to work I also am afraid to take my three children anywhere because of this. Im and employee of gm someone needs to do a recall this is a safety issue to the driver and other drivers as well.
We have had our Navigator in many of times we have had all of the parts in the suspension changed. We have also put in a new compressor. Drove just fine in the summer spring and fall. Once we got our 1 st cold day we have no suspension again. This is my only car and its a family car. Traction does not work when the suspension is out. On slippery roads truck is all over the road. There is nothing the dealer can do they have done everything they can and it still does not wor . I am afraid I will go off the road with my kids in the SUV. Also with no suspension my back is now out just driving it to the store. Something needs to be done or Lincoln should buy all of them back. We have less then 90,000 on the SUV. When asked when this happened it happens every day its cold out.
I have a 2004 Lincoln Navigator and when it gets too cold the airbags have busted on me and the compressor. I have owned this vehicle for 2 years and 2 years in a row each winter my suspension has failed. My wheels are riding right under my tire wall and it is going to cause me to have an accident or cause further damage. At $1000 to fix these they should last longer than 1 year. Please look into this and recall our vehicles, the air suspension is supposed to provide a smoother ride not a rough winter.
The rear air suspension failed and the car bottomed out multiple times after even the smallest of bumps. Tires and the structure around tire wheel wheel may also have been damaged due to the bottoming out. Dealer replaced pump for $1,267. 53, but would not recognize or inspect for residual damage. Claimed out of warranty issue and also this damage is out of scope of warranty.
While driving . . . . . . . Without warning the air suspension line exploded and the vehicle became unmanageable . . . Causing me to go off the road and strike various stationary objects . . . . . .

When temperatures drop near or below freezing, the air suspension springs stop functioning at all. The valve that holds the air in the air bags gets frost on it and can't close anymore. This causes the suspension to ride on the rubber stops. The tires rub in the fender wells. The vehicle will eventually rub the tire to a tire failure. This will cause the driver to lose control of the vehicle and possibly crash.
