Windshield Wiper/washer Problems of Lincoln Navigator

The contact owns a 2001 Lincoln Navigator. The contact activated the windshield wipers and noticed that they began to perform at a very high speed. As a result, the driver's side wiper detached from the vehicle. He also noticed that the wipers could not be turned off unless the vehicle was turned off. In addition, the wipers would not operate at low speeds. The vehicle has not been diagnosed by the dealer. The current and failure mileages were 126,374.

Ltr from senator hutchison on behalf of constituent, re problems with her 2005 Lincoln Navigator. The consumer stated there was a noise coming from the engine. The front end vibrated constantly. The consumer was informed the track bar and cad mount bushings needed to be replaced to correct the vibrating. The sunroof leaked, the cd changer scratched the cd's, the drivers seat was repaired 3 times, the tire pressure sensor didn't work, the remote start did not work, the transmission was slipping, the rear windows were grinding, the drivers side door would not open, the mirror would not adjust and the wipers were replaced. The consumer stated after two years of being told there was nothing wrong with the vehicle, it finally broke down and the dealer had to perform major engine work. After recall repair the consumer discovered that the windshield wipers were inoperable when she attempted to turn them on during rainy weather resulting in poor visibility. Nlm.

Front wipers come on at any time. Dealer has been informed by manufacturer that they are aware of problem and the manufacturer has directed dealers not to work on problem until a fix has been identified. I was blinded by smeared bugs & dust at night leading me to have to stop on the freeway at night to clean.
