Air bag light was on for a year but now its off but have 25 beeps everytime I start car and every 20 minutes after. Found it was ab n airbag issue.

"takata recall. " I noticed a few weeks ago that my airbag light is on. I have 28000 actual miles on the 2005 Lincoln Town Car that has always been garaged. I have not had a recall on the airbag light and I would like for you to check it out and let me know of any recalls on the airbags.

Air bag light flashes 3 times 5 times and then stays on. No accidents 28000 actual miles.

Liberty Ford Lincoln canton (423 tuscarawas st w, canton, OH 44702) and the manufacturer stated that the vehicle was not included in any recalls to provide a remedy. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 135,000.

Airbag light started flashing and stays on during driving was told it is code 33 and airbag is not activated.

Out of nowhere my airbag light came on and chimes started going off, no accidents no bumps no reason at all.

I started the car as usual and immediately the airbag light began flashing. After a couple minutes, the airbag light went from flashing to solid and the car began a series of 5 beeps and repeated this series of beeps 5 times. A local auto shop diagnosed the problem as the driver side seatbelt pre-tensioner and said it would be around $1,000 to replace, give or take a couple hundred. The shop advised if the repair was not completed, the airbags wouldn't deploy in the event of an accident. After researching online, this safety issue appears to be a common occurrence and has not yet been recalled. This issue occurs immediately when starting the car and the airbag light stays illuminated for the entire trip (the series of beeping seems to stop after repeating the series 5 times).

Air bag light on, giving code 34 then remains illuminated. Dealer said seat belt tensioners on both side need to be changed @ a cost of $1,500 . They also advise serious injury can occur in an event of an impact .

Airbag light on dash came on while driving. Shop estimate is approximately $1300 to replace both driver and passenger seat belt tensioners. Car has only 77,000 miles on it and garage kept since have had it in the family for the past 50,000 miles.

At about the 83,500 mileage mark an airbag dash indicator illuminated and a series of 5 chimes played. The dashboard indicator remained illuminated at all times. The chimes would play periodically while the engine was running. It was diagnosed as a faulty airbag sensor in the passenger seat. That was fixed for about $780. About 1-week later it happened again. This time I was told by the same dealer service department that it was a separate issue and was the main computer control module. I'm still unclear whether it is the driver's air bag that will not, or may not, work or if it is both of them. I imagine that the side air bags are still functional. I cannot afford to repair this again for $800 and I have no way of knowing if they ever repaired it correctly the 1st time. It could be that the problem always was the main computer module. In any case, I'm not fixing it and I can't sell it as is. A google search reveals that this is a common problem with Lincoln Town Cars from that era. I'm still perplexed why this hasn't been a recall issue already.

While driving to work the airbag light came on and started chiming. I looked the problem up on line and found this is a common issue with Lincolns. They stated the problem is in the connection and the repair by Lincoln cost $700. Many stated after fixing the driver side the passenger side failed soon after. Decided to not take it in for repair due to cost and chance of another failure.

Every time I drive my car my airbag light comes on and it chimes 5 times repeats a couple of times then shuts off. After doing online research, looks like this is a common/costly problem for the 06. Every half hour it beeps again 5 times repeats a couple of times then shuts off. Ford should issue a recall!.

This well-maintained car is kept in a private garage. I cranked car in the morning and air bag light came on. Drove to dealer without protection of an operational air bag system. Dealer identified problem as passenger side, front seatbelt pretensioner but there had been no passenger in car either the last time it was driven or as the car was cranked and air bag light came on indicating a problem existed.

The airbag indicator light came on for a day then goes off and a couple days later come on again. We haven't taken it in yet but we will soon.

Upon driving the vehicle the air bag light would come on. . . . And the seatbelt alarm would sound over and over again. So I took the car into allan vigil Ford to be checked. They told me my seat belt needed to be replaced, which they said they had to pull the dash out to get to the proper parts. The cost of this repair was $594. 27. . . . . . The light came on again in September 9, 2013. . . At which time I carried it back to allan vigil and was told it was then the passenger side seatbelt with the same issue. . . . . They repaired it at the cost of $630. 88. . . . . . I feel this should have been handled by Ford, at no cost to me. . . Because upon my further internet searches found this was an issue that has been going on several years with the seatbelts. . . Of the 2006 Lincoln towncars. Also I feel I should have been given more consideration due to the fact that my husband retired from Ford with 35 years service. Please respond .

Safety issue with air bag/seat belt. Have had both driver's and passenger's seat belts replaced due to air bag lights coming on. Between the two repairs have spent over $1,200. Should be a recall on this problem since the air bags won't deploy in case of an accident.

March 22, 2013, airbag light appeared on dash. Dealership service man advised me the light indicated the airbag may not inflate upon crash. I was charged $39. 95 for miscellaneous repair to the electrical system but a diagnosic cost would be $89. 95 and replacement cost would be approximately $1600. Due to cost, neither was the diagnostic nor the replacement completed. Today, the airbag's alarm beeping and the airbag's dash light continue to operate. Is there any pattern related to airbags in 2006 Lincoln products?.

The passive restraint indicator light (shows an airbag and seatbelt), also called seatbelt retractor, came on and remained on with an audible alarm (5 beeps, 5 times) repeating every 30 minutes. The problem diagnosis was for the left front seat belt pretensioner ( driver's side). A Lincoln dealer service employee said the airbag will not work with this problem. At another Lincoln dealership I was told many 2006 towncars had the same problem. It started beeping at 122,000 miles and I was not involved in a crash. A Ford employee told me last year's supplier went out of business, so they had to change the manufacturer for the new part. The price went from $150. 00 for the pretensioner to $360. 00 for the kit (from the new manufacturer), which is the only thing you can get to fix the problem, even though you don't need a new seat belt, buckle, etc. Because of the additional installation costs ($200. 00 to $330. 00), many people may not be able to afford the fix, putting their lives at risk as well as their passenger's.

I took my 2006 Lincoln Town Car to a Lincoln authorized repair station. Parts were back ordered and, after approximately 3 weeks, the vehicle was repaired and the indicator light and alarm functioned properly. This occurred in early 2010 with approximately 46,000 miles on the vehicle and was repaired under 5/50,000 mile safety device warranty. The problem repeated in July, 2010 and the vehicle was returned to the same dealer for repair. The vehicle was still under warranty with mileage being 49386. Parts were back ordered. As of 10-5-2010, the parts have not been received and the dealer stated that the supplier to Ford motor company was out of business and the needed parts were unavailable. The dealer also stated that the parts were only available from Ford motor CO. Dealer stated that seat belt are functioning and he thinks the air bag will function. The airbag light wont go off. Don't know if its not working or is out of the gas to fill it up in case of impact. Has a picture with a person with a seatbelt on and a airbag exploded in front of them even when the seat belts are being used.

2005 Lincoln Town Car air bag light came on at nearly 51000 miles. Mechanic replaced clock spring in steering column ($250)--did not fix problem!! then informed an additional problem in column. Never in an accident and maintained properly. Have written Ford motor twice suggesting they should fix the problem, that it must be a factory defect. They did not have the decency to respond!!!!!.

Airbag light was diagnosed as indicating a need for an rcm module.

My air bag light blinks on and off for about 90 seconds then goes off for about another 90 seconds then comes on and stays on I was told by the mechanic at the Lincoln dealership that I do not have any air bags when the light is on the problem? not known until I spend $$$ finding out why then spending more $$$ to fix it.
