The contact owns a 1999 Lincoln Town Car. While driving at an unknown speed, smoke emitted from the air vents and caused the vehicle to overheat. The coolant also drained onto the floor of the vehicle. The dealer stated that the heater core failed. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred five times. The manufacturer was notified. The approximate failure mileage was 105,824.

: the contact stated while driving the vehicle started smoking under the dash, the windows fogged up, and coolant was leaking from the manifolds. The contact took the vehicle to a dealership to have it inspected. They discovered the heater core needed to be replaced. Ak.

Heater core failure. This causes vapor and odor from the engine coolant to leak through the vents and to coat the windshield with an oil-like substance making it impossible to see through the windshield. Heater core was replaced 10/04/04. Went out again 11/24/04. Ford motor company acknowledges that this is a recurring problem in this model vehicle. $737. 54 to have heater core replaced. They 'think' they can prevent this from occuring again if they do something else that will cost me an additional $547. 00, but 'no guarantee' that it won't happen again and no additional warranty on the heater core.

While driving , the air conditioner cut off, and the engine overheated. Technician serviced vehicle, and determined the intake manifold cracked. Also the heater core failed.

Heater core in my 1998 linclon t. C. Has been replaced six times in the last four years. Last may 2002 I had to have it replaced again, yesterday I had to have it or was going to have it replaced again but the Ford dealer in ontario said it is not covered any more even tho it has a one year or 12,000 mile warranty they will not honer it. I am the second owner and this will be my second heater core. The same Ford dealer replaced it my first one. Its been 8 months since they replaced it. Ford dealer said it had been replaced five times already which I ddid not know this. Something wrong some place 6 times in 4 years,,,,,, please advise john m. Vernon.
