This has been an ongoing problem for the last 4 years. Ignition switch is faulty. When vehicle is shut off, the engine shuts off, but the auxiliary (radio, heat, ac) stays on. The shift must be manipulated several times to get the auxiliary off. Battery has been drained because someone who does not know about this defect will inadvertently leave it on.
The ignition switch does not want to turn off. There is a faulty sensor that doesn't relay to the car that it is in park. The car has to be put back into gear multiple times for it to turn off. This has been going on for some time now. I have looked it up online and couldn't believe how many Mazda cx5 owners have this same issue. It needs to be a recall. The battery wears down when it is not turned off all the way and people are getting stranded. Thanks!.
