Power Steering Fluid Problems of Mazda MAZDA3

Power steering would randomly come and go, upon cranking the (stationary) car or backing out of the driveway. Problem seemed to resolve (went away for several weeks) after I added ps fluid with "stop leak", but then problem briefly reoccurred one more time. Problem went away for months, but is it gone for good? there was never any sign of a leak, and mechanic did not find a problem. Problem began at around 67,000 miles.

On or about April 15th , during an oil change and all fluid inspection by ewing ,plano ,TX, it was discovered that there was a power steering leak. And was told that I should bring the car to a Mazda dealership ASAP after I called Mazda USA. After several attempts that lasted a week, to get Mazda USA on the phone, I was able to speak to a anthony that refused to give his last name, I explained him all the details and he told me that the car 3/36 warranty had expired by few days( I purchased the car new on 3/16/2011) I only had less than 32000 miles on the car,however good news he said the power steering was covered under the 5/60 warranty, of course he didn't know what he was talking about, because everyone I spoke to told me that the car steering was not covered,after lengthy phone conversations with anthony at 18002225500 opt 6- 2 and then extension 1151 complain # r18311329, I was able to secure an appointment at el dorado Mazda in mckinney,TX and a loaner car for 2 days, the manager lee tuckett, a total run around ,lee tuckett told me that there was a seepage of fluid from the power steering and was not covered under the 5/60. I called Mazda headquarters infuriated but anthony was never available and never returned my phone calls , my young children drive the car, power steering leakage are dangerous, I found out thru internet blogging many people have the same problem. I would never buy anther Mazda,and hope the agency would investigate Mazda ,safety item should always be covered under warranty ( parity sincerely joe capasso 4699649322).

I was driving out of the parking lot and my steering wheel was extremely hard to move. I was able to pull over and check the steering fluid and there wasn't a leak. I was scared as the car was very hard to steer and it could have been worse if that happened in the highway or high speed road.

My 2007 Mazda 3 was traveling southbound in the left lane at 75mph on the freeway when it began to drift to the left; when I attempted to correct the vehicle the steering was stiff and the wheel would not turn. The car continued going left over the rumble strips and into the dirt shoulder. At this time the car then shot right nearly perpendicular to the flow of southbound traffic, where I began to go off the road to the right. The car then hit the dirt shoulder and rolled 2 times before coming to a stop on the drivers side. The car was facing north and on its side when it finally settled. Only 20 minutes before the crash I noticed a squeaking noise coming from the front passenger side. I also noticed a few days later that in the usual spot where I park, there was what looked like clean oil drips (they could have been brake fluid or power steering fluid, but the color was that of clean oil). The car has never leaked before. The car has be declared a total loss due to this accident. The Mazda3 had approx 56000 miles, and was the standard sport model hatchback with automatic transmission. It was purchased in oct. 06.
