I got into my car and the infotainment screen was cracked. It had been parked in moderate weather (no extreme heat or cold) and just randomly had multiple small cracks across the screen. This makes the back up camera difficult to see which is a safety concern.

The infotainment system is cracking uncontrollably and will make the rear view camera unusable and a safety issue. Mazda corporation wont pay for the repair that they are charging close to 2k to do.
On Thursday October 9th I drove to work at 11pm and parked my car. I backed up into my space using my back-up camera as I had always did since I had purchased my car in 2019. The next morning when I got home and put my car in reverse to back into my space, I noticed that the back-up camera did not come on. The radio continued to play on the screen, but in never switched over to the camera so that I could use this component to park. After trying several times to try to figure out what the issue was I gave up. I had an appointment that same morning, so I parked my car and came back about an hour later to leave and started my car, pulled out of my space, then put my car in reverse and the camera was back up and running again. I found this to be strange. Most likely this will happen again. I googled/researched this to see if there was a recall for this issue in this make and model and came across a few articles where others had the same or similar complaints. So it all lead me here. It seems as if there is a malfunction in these cameras, if it is happening to others, and happened to me, then it's happening. So what's happening. . . Is my question? why are these camera not recalled? do we wait until it shuts down in the middle of us backing up or what? what's next? can I get someone at Mazda to look at my camera, and replace it? or is this something I have to live with? I should not have to, neither should I have to pay some outrageous price to get it replace on my own dime. There is definitely an issue with this camera in this make and model. So is anyone going to be fair and do something about this, or wait until there is an accident behind it? if it's a defect in the product, just simply replace it.

The infotainment screen in my Mazda3 developed a large spider crack in the corner. It's available for inspection upon request. It affects my ability to read information on the screen, and partially obstructs my backup camera's image. The problem has been confirmed by both the dealer, who saw the issue firsthand, and Mazda (see service alert no. : sa-008/18, issued 02/20/2018 - please note, the spider crack I have is much larger than the ones in the pictures in the service alert). There was no warning this issue was going to affect my car, it just happened one day.
My 2016 Mazda 3 has had a faulty rearview camera, computerized controls, and monitor display screen for over 2 years now. I am not sure if there is a problem with the electrical system because I have lost the ability to turn on the navigation function, the stereo function, and to see the vehicle maintenance information with non-functioning electrical controls and display screen. Sometimes the monitor display would show a blank screen or a fuzzy screen which is a safety hazard especially when I'm driving my vehicle in reverse and could potentially cause an accident. There has been a recall on the rearview camera since July 2023. I have contacted the Mazda dealership multiple times, and they have repeatedly said that the rearview camera parts are still not available. This is unacceptable because it seriously compromises my safety and the safety of others if I cannot safely back up my vehicle when driving due to the faulty rearview camera, computerized controls and monitor display screen. There should also be a recall on the computerized controls and monitor display screen.

Due to improper design of the rearview camera wiring harness fastener, my rearview camera image has been distorted and flickering for years. There has been no remedy for this issue for many years now and its quite dangerous to have a camera that doesnt work at all.
