Similar to the recall on the 2016-2016 Mazda6, the 2017 Mazda 6 has a touch screen issue (ghost touch). Mazda must issue a ssp for this vehicle. It is unacceptable that Mazda is aware of this issue and has chosen not to issue a ssp. My vehicle touch screen is unusable because of the ghost screen issue and there is no way for the consumer to disable the touch screen.

I was driving, and all of a sudden, I hear a loud pop above my head. I slow down to investigate and notice the sound of the wind coming from above me. I slide back my sunroof door and the entire glass is shattered. This could’ve been a very dangerous situation as I was driving on the highway and the loud sudden pop without warning could’ve affected me to lose control of my vehicle. I’ve read up on this and have seen that this issue has happened to a number of vehicles and some manufacturers have had a large list of complaints.

I was driving between 40-50 mph at a consistent speed and I began to have to put the brake pedal to the floor in order to slow down the car. Even when doing this the car does not slow down at the rate expected and stopping distance has increased by more than 50 percent. Have been told there is cracked/leaking bore diameter to the master brake cylinder housing is causing pressure and fluid loss, into other internal parts of the braking system. Not visible externally. Mechanic states that they have encountered this problem with several of this year make and model with this exact issue. The shop was able to top off the brake fluid which slightly improved performance but the issue still remains. Car is at 104k miles.
The vehicle wont shut completely off when you press the start/stop button after shifting into "park". The relay that tells the car it's in park is faulty and the car wont shut off all the way. This will drain the battery and not allow the driver to lock the doors when they exit the vehicle. This is stranding hazard I've seen lots of youtube videos and online forum complaints about this problem. It should be added to the recall list.

I been having problems with oil consumption in between oil changes,I am concerned with the potential for damage to other engine systems aside from the reported issue with the gasket stem seals. I been taking my car to the dealership and I been told they don’t have a solution and they don’t know how to fix it. This is a new car!!!.

Component - rear subframe/crossmember. Yes it is available for inspection. I was driving and suddenly heard a loud crack and the rear drivers side of my vehicle dropped to the ground. I was getting ready to pull into a parking lot so I was luckily driving slowly. If I were traveling at the normal speed limit, I could have wrecked and possibly caused injury to myself or others on the road. Upon inspection from the mechanic, the rear subframe is completely rusted out and broke as a result. After research, I found that the front subframe/crossmember was recalled in 2018 for rust issues. This car had the recalled repaired. But Mazda has no recall for the rear. There were no warnings that this was going to happen.

Right side of the dashboard has become sticky, melting, and causing major reflection issues, day and night.
After driving when I got to put the vehicle into park- I place it in park but it gives me a error saying not in park.
I took my car in for scheduled maintenance and the technicians at the Mazda dealer found out the tensioner and belt needed to be replaced, when the car is less than 36k in miles. Vehicles being repaired under warranty but a tensioner should not be going out this early in the lifespan of a 2 year old car. I have found a lot of people are complaining for the same issue. This can cause the cars to not run as there’s no notice ahead of time that the belt and tensioner are bad. I do have paper work stating tensioner problems. Vehicles should be recalled due to poor manufacturing and parts making it unsafe on the road.
I own a Mazda 6 2009 and I have taken it to the dealership and even paid out of own pocket a rental car for 2 hours while they fixed a recal and then they get it done mind u im already 2 hours away from home so I go pick my car back up and they call me the next day needing my car badly to fix the other recals well this time they was willing to meet me with a loaner vehical half way. . Well its been 3 weeks now havent heard from them or anything and I just got a call today sayimg my car is finally done well I get online and it dont show really were they fixed anything but supposely my sub frame had to be fixed. . I just fill something to do with sub frame is dangours and later down the road im a mom of 2 I dont need something that has sub frame problems thats scary.
I think it is unfair that a manufacturing problem has been unnoticed and left to people to pay for. I am already paying enough for this car to also have to worry about a manufacturing problem that has been left unattended by the company. This certainly is very dangerous as I might have the cars battery die and have no way of getting immediate help and right now it's just the car not acknowledging the parking mode but what if one day the car starts using the wrong shift unknowingly to me and I end up in a car accident because of this? I wont be able to do anything as this has been left unnoticed and no recall has been made even with the dangers it presents to the driver and the car itself. Some of this informations was found on https://Mazda. Oemdtc. Com/665/ignition-does-not-turn-off-when-pressing-startstop-button-2013-2014-Mazda.
Water leak in trunk area leading to about a 2-inch puddle of water accumulation inside the trunk at the location of the spare tire area. Issue was noticed on April 16, 2021. The water accumulated on top and at the bottom of the spare tire. The parts of the vehicle are beginning to be negatively affected --mold, etc. There were items stored around the spare tire e. G. Flat tire repair kit, emergency blanket, etc. That developed mold due to the accumulated water and were thrown away upon inspection. In addition to the spare tire area accumulating several inches of water, the spare the cover (I. E. Plastic honeycomb type that sits directly on top of the spare tire) is affected with the evaporation/condensation of the accumulated water. All other parts of the trunk and vehicle are were not wet to the touch. The source of the water is unknown. And it was not a user error type of issue the vehicle has been stored with all windows, doors, trunk, and hood closed. Concern is that the accumulation of water will lead to the development of mold inside the vehicle and an unhealthy environment for the driver and passengers occupying the car. Additionally, it will lead to vehicle corrosion since the area where the water accumulates is not intended to be consistently holding water. Attached are several photos showing the affected area. Note that the photos only show the accumulated water that was underneath the spare tire after the water accumulated on top of the spare tire (inner section of the spare tire metal wheel which lays up when stored in the vehicle's trunk), close to 2-inches worth, was removed along with the spare tire itself. I did not think of taking photos of the issue until after I removed the spare tire and the accumulated water. Please look into the matter and consider issuing a recall that would allow Mazda to correct the problem. Thank you.
The paint is chipping excessively and will lead to extensive body damage at the rate it is chipping and exposing the metal underneath. I am taking the vehicle in to the dealer next week to show them the damage. The chipping issue has already been documented on a bill of lading from a transporter who shipped the car to me. I will upload it below.

2017 Mazda6 infotainment system also found in Mazda cx-5. Known as "ghost touch," it is a known issue acknowledged by the company and dealerships. Available for inspection upon request. The infotainment system controls navigation, adas heads up navigation, illumination of instruments and other driver instrumentation and safety warning systems. Above a set speed the screen is not a touch screen. When the car slows below a preset speed or is stopped, the display screen becomes a touch screen. The screen will then randomly and intermittently begin to reset itself, changing between and altering settings. This was repaired by Mazda on pre-2016 models, but Mazda declined on 2017-2020 models. This has the potential of causing accidents by making instrumentation unreadable, random dialing bluetooth phone connections, etc. As stated search for "ghost touch Mazda" and you will find many references and complaints. The problem is ongoing since 2021. The component has apparently been upgraded but will cost 700+ to repair.
I was driving on a street and my check engine light, tcs/dsc light, sbs/scbs light, mrcc light, and warning light appeared on my dashboard. My car then started putting or jerky. It felt as my car was very weak as if it was going to give out. This is the third time these same malfunctions appeared. Each time it occurred I took my car to the Mazda dealership. The first time they did not find a problem because the warning light had already turned off. The second time(September 5), they gave me a new battery and new computer software. It is now at the dealership again. This situation is very scary and I need to know why this is happening.
I bought a used car from a small dealership, they sold me the car without a dash harness, all the wiring that is supposed to be connected to the computer in my car is not there, so I can't do smog check. The mechanic could not check why the check engine light was on because the computer in my car was not communicating with the tool. Sold me the car with airbags not working. Lied about having it all checked out. And I still haven't received my title, registration, and plates to my car.
The dash on my Mazda is melted. It is now causing a bright sheen which makes it difficult to see when the sun hits it. The dash is very sticky and starting to smell like burnt plastic. . I've called Mazda customer support and they said the defective part is covered untill 2010, however they said it ended 4 months ago. Unfortunately, covid19 stopped me from making it to the dealership in March. Mazda would not give me an extension due to the current covid19 stay at home order placed in my state.

Passenger side dashboard has melted, causing black sticky residue and a very shiny effect, when trying to drive, the sunlight and nighttime lights cause a glare that is very distracting when trying to drive.
I noticed my vehicle was starting to drive funny. I keep up on it very well, routine maintenance, wash it often, fresh alignments, new tires when needed. So I thought something was up and took it into a garage. I was called the next day and was told I had a hole in my passenger side right subframe. I was very surprised by this because the car is very clean underneath for the year and in good condition compared to the usual new york rust. I did some research and this is a ongoing problem with these cars around my year and sadly many people have experienced this. My vehicle has no recalls and Mazda doesn't want to take care of the bill so sadly I'm stuck with a car that should be recalled.

For the last year, the car alarm in my 2009 Mazda 6 has been going off sporadically by itself at all hours of the day while parked in my apartment building parking lot. The dealer diagnosed that my passenger side door actuator needed to be replaced. It was, and a few weeks later the alarm went off again at 3:30 am, waking up all of my neighbors in the process. Brought it back to the dealer and now they say it's the driver side door actuator. There are so many reports on the internet of other Mazda owners having this same issue and there is a bulletin out there for it. Why has been this not become a recall yet?.
My Mazda6 spontaneously caught on fire while it was parked on a street and completely burned down. The fault/problem cause is unknown at this time but I suspect there was wiring/electrical fault and manufacturing and design defect. Both the sheriff's department and fire department were involved in assisting me in this incident. I am still waiting for reports from law enforcement/first responders. Mazda has refused to address this situation without me providing them with an "inspection report supporting the claim a defect was present and said defect caused the fire. " as I was only a lessee of the vehicle, I have no possession of the vehicle and, therefore, I cannot order an inspection on the vehicle. Mazda is acting in bad-faith.
On January 25, 2014, I had my car service at a s. Florida Mazda dealership for a 2013 recall on the door latch mounting screws. The recall stated that the screws may become loose. If all three door latch mounting screws become loose and fall out, the door latch mechanism will not engage when the door is closed, and the door ajar warning light will illuminate. Currently, I am experiencing the same issue with my doors and the door ajar light illuminating. In addition, due to this issue, my battery that I had replaced in may 2020 does not work. My car did not start. I had to have my car towed to the nearest Mazda dealership. The dealership replaced the battery but told me that my door latch on 2 doors had to be replaced because my car thinks the door is ajar and this causes the battery to drain even with the car turned off. It sounds like these issues could be attributed to the 2013 recall. Furthermore, the technician informed me that my car alarm goes off without warning and the technician attributed this to the door latch issue. So all of the above issues can be traced back to the 2013 recall on door latches. It appears that there is a manufacturer defect on the door latches. Therefore, the dealership should make the necessary repairs without charge to me. Right now, my car has been at the dealership for 1 week and 2 days.
Engine surges when I brake, but not always. Usually it is when I'm going straight ahead, however, it has done it in a turn and once backing up. This has happened again today, and after I had throttle body cleaning done two weeks ago.
While driving my 2017 Mazda 6 today, the sunroof exploded. There was nothing that struck the sunroof, I had not traveled under an overpass and there wasn't a dramatic temperature change. I have been reading of the increased number of incidents of sunroofs exploding for no reason. My Mazda dealership denies there being any "issues"; however, consumer reports and other publications.
I was driving in an urban area, on a city street, and the car ahead of me was making a right turn. As my vehicle was slowing, I covered the brake pedal in anticipation of the possibility of the need to brake. The car in front of me was just about clear and there was still plenty of distance between us. At that time, the Smart city brake support engaged and brought my car to a violent stop. I felt immediate pain in 2 locations of my back, due to the jolt. There was not an impending accident. It wasn't even close.
The forward obstruction warning has a problem!.
There was a recall on the air bags of my car and I was not informed of the recall that was for April 2019. How can this be fixed?.
Driving along a highway (left side of road) I crashed into large boulders of concrete scattered along the road that was caused by a previous accident. Traveling at 60 mph my vehicle launched off the ground slamming back down on all four tires. My vehicle then spun out of control crashing to the side guard rail impacting the side of the vehicle 2x's (right side of road) resulting in disabling damage to my vehicle. To my surprise the airbags did not deploy (particularly my side airbags). Later I learned that Mazda (manufacture) reported a recall for my vehicle relating to a potential malfunction of side airbags. Upon my discovery I learned that Mazda had learned of the defect around August 2019, but had not issued a recall notice on their website until January 1st 2020. My accident took place Dec 4th 2019, and I should also add that as of yet Mazda still has not made any direct attempts (email, mail, phone) to notify me of the potential hazard. Had it not been for my own inquiries I still may have not known that there was a safety issue within my vehicle especially when I needed it the most. I don't want to come off as being dramatic but that accident I was involved in could of cost my wife and I our lives. For that reason I am seeking to retrieve the event data records (edr) of my vehicle so that I may determine if the airbags failed to deploy as noted as a potential hazard or if the impact and damages where simply not substantial enough to cause the airbags to deploy. I asked my insurance company if they could assist me in gathering that data which they first claimed to be possible, but shortly after I was informed that they did not have the sophistication to do so, hence forwarding me to this website. Please advise on how I may retrieve that information, any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
The dashboard on the passenger side of my Mazda 6 2013 is melting and is very sticky. Today as I was driving I started to notice a glare from where the sticky melting part is and it started obstructing my vision.

When you turn the car off the accessory stays on. In other words it doesn’t shut off all the way. That is a hazard because the battery will go dead in time. I looked on the internet and found a lot of complaints about this issue with these cars. The car has a defective shifter switch. Mazda won’t recall the part even though there have been many complaints. This is a defective part. If a part is defective they should recall the part. I don’t see why I should have to pay $400. 00 to put a $50 part in my car that is defective. My car is available for inspection upon request.
I received a paper saying it was recalled.
