The model/year mercedes-benz are well known for experiencing this/these particular issues. My research has shown that these year/make/model vehicles are experiencing the same type of mechanical failures nationwide. The issues all relatively begin around 75,000 miles. I've only had my car 3 years putting 30000 on it hardly driven/cared for **issue found:** oil was leaking onto the ignition coil and spark plug of cylinder 3. **source of leak:** valve cover gasket failure. **recommended repairs:** - replace the valve cover gasket (to halt the oil leak). - replace spark plugs and ignition coil (which were contaminated/damaged by oil). **relevance to warranty:** the valve cover gasket is only covered if it fails as a result of an internally lubricated engine part causing damage. Ignition coils and spark plugs are maintenance items and are not covered by warranty plans. **required repairs (identified mechanical issues)** - **coolant pipe leak – $850** **issue:** coolant leaking from a pipe on the side of the cylinder head. **relevance to warranty:** typically not covered unless it pertains to a failure in a covered system such as the water pump or cylinder head due to an internal breakdown. This is likely classified as an external plumbing component, which is not included. - * feed line leak – $600** **issue:** oil leaking from the side of the engine, traced back to the oil feed line. **relevance to warranty:** this is not typically covered unless the oil feed line is part of the oil pump system and has failed due to an internal issue (usually regarded as an external line). **other items found (worsening issues)** - **timing chain rattle / cam adjuster noise – $6,000** -**issue:** rattling sound during startup. **diagnosis:** noise emanating from the timing chain and camshaft adjusters. **relevance to warranty:** this is covered under secure plus, as both the timing chain and camshaft adjusters are recognized as internally lubricated par.
1) cranshaft and camshaft position sensors, timing problems and it has to be replaced this is a common damage in Mercedes Benz 2012 C250. 2) this put in risk my life because it can brake the engine in a highway and the car could be off.

My mercedes has a recall for the takata air bags. I do not live in close proximity to a mercedes dealership. I have spoken to the dealership in orange park, FL which is around 85 miles away. I have, also, spoken to mercedes customer care. Neither will assist in having my car picked up and taken to the dealership or are they offering any assistance in removing a barrier to have the air bag replaced. I understand this is an important recall but how do I comply and mitigate risk of injury if mercedes is not willing to help car owners who live in rural areas? please advise.

Got a defective air bag recall from Mercedes Benz for my car. When I called the dealership ( rmb of atlanta, sandy springs, GA ) to get it fixed in my area they said that they do not have the part to fix it. I will have to wait till Jan, 2020 for the air bag to be fixed. This is unacceptable from a safety & customer viewpoint. Why has mercedes issued this replacement notice when their dealers cannot fix it.

We have been waiting for 2(tw0) years since receiving a letter that our passenger seat airbag needed replacement and now we are hearing that it will be another year before the fix will be available. This is moving too slow and it is a safety issue. No one has ridding in that seat for 2w0 years. My wife is tired of riding in the back seat!!.
Takata recall - when purchasing this vehicle, I was informed by the carmax dealship that there were open recalls on the vehicle. They briefly explained that one of the recalls was a defective part, involving the airbag, could cause serious injury or death. This was a huge concern to me, as I was purchasing a mercedes-benz because it was an extremely safe car. I expressed my concern immediately to the dealership, who told me not to worry and that I could take the car directly the an authorized mercedes-benz dealership to have parts replaced and that the issue would be resolved. After signing the papers to purchase the vehicle, I contacted several authorized dealerships with attempts to have the recall remedied. Unfortunately, I had no luck in doing so, as each of the dealerships informed me that there was no remedy at this time. I continued to call each month to attempt to have the parts replaced without any luck. Knowing that there was defective parts in my car and that it could case serious death or injury to someone really upset me. I use my car for work and at times, I am responsible for transporting clients. Due to this open recall, my car has been deemed unsuitable by the company I work for and now I have lost a great deal of money, specifically due to this recall. I am extremely frustrated that I have been given the wrong information and in addition to that, I am forced to drive an unsafe car, knowing that there is defective parts. My job has refused to allow me to work until the recall has been resolved and an authorized dealer has reported to NHTSA that it has been fixed.

We can not sell this vehicle because of the damage it could cause to a potential buyer. Our local dealership has warned that a replacement part is years away from arriving in el paso. Takata recall-I am driving with 4 children in my vehicle and I have an airbag malfunction and this is very concerning. I would like for this matter to be resolve ASAP. I've been driving my vehicle under these circumstances far too long and this is causing me a lot of anxiety because of the concerns I have regarding my safety including my family. I received a notice regarding a legal action but I have not received anything else and I have called the mercedes dealerships and they can't do anything because it continues to show pending recall on their system and they pretty much can't do anything about it until they get a notice from whoever these people are suppose to be. I have an alert on my vehicle that states, malfunction airbag.

Takata recall I called the mercedes dealership in burlington to address the recall. They don't have the parts to address the recall. It's been a year and a half, and the defect has not been addressed. Given the defect is related to safety, it should be addressed sooner. Not feeling safe to drive with passengers. Thanks! -- jag.

After discussing our issue of a delayed response to repair our defective vehicle in a timely manner with representatives from mercedes-benz USA, we sent the attached email to NHTSA and received the attached response to file a complaint. We have received an email only from the NHTSA to file this complaint. Both mercedes-benz USA and the NHTSA are liable in not preforming the necessary repairs in a timely manner. Based on the information in the recall that this safety feature in our vehicle will "possibly cause serious injury or death. " this vehicle should be recalled immediately and repaired withing a week of sending out the recall notice. This tactic to stall has put our family in danger with the defective safety air-bag installed.
