The electronic steering wheel lock went out causing the car to not start. Upon checking the internet to see if anyone else was having this problem I found that it was a problem many Mercedes Benz owners have had and it's an expensive one. It's not just with my particular model and it's not limited to older models of the brand either.

While driving, my vehicle suddenly shut down in the middle of traffic without any prior warning. I was left stranded in the hot sun, fearing for my safety and praying that I wouldn’t be rear-ended. The incident was not only terrifying but also unacceptable for a vehicle of this caliber. I contact mercedes customer service. I spoke to a representative name stephanie. She called the mercedes dealership service department in columbus, GA and received confirmation that my car did shut completely down on me without warning. Stephanie stated she will notate the incident. I told her there should be more than just a notation because this put me in grave danger, not only was my life in jeopardy this is a serious potential threat to others.
I was replacing rear tail light bulb. Now I'm getting an error message on instrument cluster. I tried to fix the issue but couldn't do to the fact the wiring harness has melted. Mercedes benz had a recall back in 2013 saying this is a safety issue. No recall for our car.

When I was driving down the road my car got a message on the dash that said power steering malfunction see owners manual. My steering wheel got locked up and tight it was hard to keep control of my car at 60 miles per hour. When I took it to the repair shop, I asked about the repair and if my VIN had a recall and when I looked up the production date of my car it's 2 numbers off the VIN numbers that were recalled for your. Same issue with hat happened in 2016 when my car was produced in 2015, it says the same thing. It will cost like 5k to fix the problem due to the fact that its a sensor, and when I looked up the recall it was the same sensor that the recall was on with my VIN only being 2 numbers off I find it odd that my car is not affected by this bc its the same problem of the recall the part of that controls the power steering in the car.
Power steering malfunction car unable to drive I believe there is supposed to be a recall for this issue but not popping up when I put in VIN number warning lamps come up. Sometimes every light on dashboard. Took it to mercedes but it was when code was not popping up and they said I needed a new battery. Did that but still an issue. Has also happened when driving. Sometimes collision assist plus light comes on and power steering acts up. Light I am pointing at in picture is another light that consistently pops up I have been able to intermittently fix problem by resetting computer by unplugging battery for 15min or longer. As well as confirming full service on vehicle. Now it isn’t working though.

Have noticed a lot of air noise coming from the panoramic sunroof of my vehicle when driving, and now have issues of it opening or closing properly. I researched and found a recall regarding the issues my vehicle is having, and brought it into a dealership for diagnosis. Was told my vehicle VIN was not included in the recall. This is a dangerous issue that needs to be remedied. If the sunroof malfunctions I’m afraid it will come loose from the vehicle as it is doing the same things that the recalled VIN vehicles had issue with. Mercedes needs to update and add additional vins to this recall. I did not repair, as I was told the entire thing will need to be replaced.
The sunroof is very glitchy and this is common in all benz I have had a few different benz and they all eventually have this same issue with their panoramic sunroof. Sometimes it opens half way life one side is up and the other side is closed and other times it will open fully but not close and other times it won’t open at all. This is a common problem that many benz owners have stated this in the benz forums all over. This is a safety issue due to unexpected weather conditions if it rains and it’s stuck inside gets damage and owners get wet which is also a distraction and may cause accidents. Please investigate this issue thoroughly. Their sunroofs should be recalled and extended warranties placed on them automatically by Mercedes Benz due to this being a very common issue in all model’s panorama sunroofs particularly C300s year 2017 thank you for looking into this matter.

Check engine light on, I read the code is p052e, after read some information in internet there is positive crankcase ventilation regulatory valve needs to be replaced. My car is 52000 miles and it seems like happenned to people even with less miles on the cars.

While driving the car on [xxx] at 9pm on Sunday, [xxx] in lane two during a heavy rain a audible clicking noise came from the drivers side front of the dash instrument cluster area and all of the lights on the car simultaneously turned off without ever touching the light switch I was unable to see the road in front of the vehicle also the windshield wipers quit working and the radio and navigation display went off and closed and opened and closed( turned off and then on and off again) the instrument cluster went dark as well, luckily I was able to turn the steering and apply the brakes and steer the vehicle onto the shoulder of the road and come to a complete stop after several attempts to turn the headlights back on I determined that the vehicle was not safe to drive , and had the vehicle towed to a reputable mechanic, and upon diagnosis he contacted me and stated that the drivers side front signal acquisition module a. K. A. The (sam) module had failed due to water intrusion into the fuse panel sam module area , the mechanic stated that I should file an incident /complaint form with your office , upon searching the Mercedes Benz forums and sites on the www I found many customers with a broad range of models (w204)approximately this same year model have identical complaints and nothing has been done by mb USA to remedy the problem, I believe this matter to be a major safety concern and I am wondering why this matter hasnt been taken into consideration by your agency and by mb USA as a safety recall to replace the failing modules and retrofit the fuse panel sam module area to prevent water intrusion thats causing the obvious safety concern and possible liability on the part of the mb/ daimler corporation. It seems this is clearly a problem and it needs fixed we are terrified to drive the vehicle for fear of a repeat incident. Left tail lights burning out due to overheated wires.
Check right tail and brake lamps warning light will not go off for months. They are working fine but the light won't go off. When I scan my vehicle there are Mercedes Benz fault codes pertaining to the electrical system but also recalls that haven’t been done but when looking Mercedes Benz web site and NHTSA website these are aren’t showing up as my particular chassis being included as part of the campaign.
The esl or electronic steering lock is a very common issue with this year and model at around the 70k mile mark. You cannot start the car once this goes out and it’s over $2k to fix.
Camshaft adjuster solenoid leaked oil into wiring harness, caused vehicle to go into limp mode and not accelerate/shift gears. This is a known problem with the m272 engine, this VIN did not show up on the recall list.
I drove my car to get lunch. Came back out to go back to work and the car would not start. Would not even turn over. My radio did not turn on and I couldn't even roll my windows back up. Luckily they were only cracked open a small amount. My steering wheel cannot be turned, it's locked in it's current position. I am told the esl (electronic steering lock) and possibly the eis is the cause of this problem. The display on the dash says "take your key from ignition" and that is all I get. Had to have my car towed and now I have a dead car with the windows partially open that I cannot close.

Headlight harness on drivers and passenger side is melting and my lights are flickering. I was advised to night drive my vehicle at night, because it could start an electrical fire. This is caused by heat from the lights.
The contact owns a 2015 mercedes-benz C300. The contact stated that while idling at a stop light, the stop/start system activated; however, after releasing the brake pedal and attempting to accelerate, the instrument panel illuminated simultaneously with several unknown warning lights. The vehicle then powered off completely. The contact manually restarted the vehicle and the vehicle responded as needed. The contact turned off the automatic stop/start system. The failure occurred two additional times. The failure had not recurred with the automatic stop/start system deactivated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer but had not been diagnosed or repaired. While I was driving my car the driver side airbag abruptly deployed. The airbag inadvertently deployed; the car did not crash into anything to cause the airbag to deploy. When the airbag erupted it caused injury to my head, face, hand, arm and wrist. I believe the airbag is defective because I have lacerations on my face possibly due to sharp objects ejecting from the airbag and the impact as well as excessive smoke and fumes emitted after the fact. I believe there might be a manufacturing defect in the airbag because it seemed as if it exploded with excessive force causing harm to myself as well as inadvertent eruption. There have been some recalls issued on the motor vehicle and I did take the vehicle to the mercedes car dealership to get all of the recalls repaired, however this incident occurred after the repairs were made at the dealership.

My esl (electronic steering lock. ) has went out when I did research this something that always happened please fix.
Vehicle will not start, possible esl/eis failure.
The right rear tail light housing harness melted due to an electrical issue. Wire tends to heat up too much. This caused my right rear tail light, right break light and right side turn signal not to function.
First day leasing the vehicle within 6 hours lights malfunction and malfunction warning on dash to seek workshop, vehicle was taken for inspection to original dealer (Mercedes Benz of bakersfield). During inspection I added additional concerning complaints about passenger door not closing correctly/wind noise seeping through when closed, and hood not closing promptly. One month into leasing vehicle passenger window malfunction, took for inspection and repair to original dealer (mbofbakersfield). Concerned with caution for me, my family, and friends when in that vehicle for giving faulty signs so early. One year into leasing vehicle check coolant warning on dash, took for inspection to original dealer. I am now more concerned as it went form electrical to coolant components loosing coolant with no reasoning from original dealer service other then a top off. Vehicle drive is rough. 1 year and 6 months into leasing vehicle, again check coolant warning on dash. Took in for inspection, gave no reasoning from original dealer service dept, other then a top off done. Vehicle drives rough. While driving 70mph, a vehicle behind was approaching quick when I went to excel to merge vehicle seemed to be slipping in gear/slow down. No warning lamps on, quickly decided/managed to merged to next lane so vehicle behind didn’t hit us as we were slowing down with 2 children in the back seat. Decided to exit to nearest exit to pull off as it felt unsafe to drive, as exiting and slowing down vehicle began to shake, knock, and make loud bangs. Managed to pull over, and check dash for massages for any type of warnings. No warning lamps, but many symptoms of a faulty unsafe vehicle. Had vehicle towed to original dealer service for diagnosis and report the unsafety incident that occurred with absolutely no warning lamps. Inspection lead to repair of engine but nothing done about no warning lamps/electrical system.

Within the first week of ownership (delivery on 1/15/24), the car's parking and/or front collision sensors started malfunctioning on a regular basis. The sensors repeatedly gave off false alerts when the car would approach intersections even though no obstacles were in front of, or behind, the car. The false alerts were quite startling and they consisted of loud alarms and warning images in both the driver's display and the car's heads up display. The repeated false alarms posed a significant safety hazard because they initially caused me to slam on the brakes risking a rear end collision. Once I realized the sensors were malfunctioning, I started to ignore them which is equally dangerous if a real collision needed to be averted. The car is currently in the service department, and it has been there for a total of 29 days thus far. It was initially thought that a software update would resolve the problem, but that did not work. After the software update was completed, a new "parktronic" module was installed. That also did not solve the issue. I am now being advised that the car is issuing fault codes related to the airbag system. It seems that there are some serious electrical problems that are plaguing the vehicle. The service department has advised me that they have no clear date on when this issue will be resolved.

The esp®, or electronic stability control system can put the car into limp mode unexpectedly. Say you are driving on route 66 going 50 mph. The esp system can turn off if a wheel speed sensor or yaw sensor is on the way out. This causes the car to suddenly dramatically brake and limit speed to 5 mph on the highway. Risk of high speed rear end collision and mortality to the driver.
