Air Bag Light On Problems of Mercedes Benz E320

This vehicle is equipped with sensotronic brake control that has a service threshold. When this threshold is reached the brake system defaults to non power assisted hydraulic mode to the front wheels only. This occurs without any prior warning and results in increased stopping distance. I do believe that this issue is relayed in the mercedes service bulletin s142. 46-p-0012a which addresses this issue. Mercedes stopped installing this system in 2006. I purchased the vehicle in December of 2007 as a used vehicle with aprox. 40,000 miles. I have not been sent anything from mbenz notifying of this issue. Vehicle put in shop 4-16-20015 at mercedes. Diagnois was faulty sbc pump system at a cost for repair $2400. 00. At the very least, mercedes should issue a mandatory recall to interrogate these vehicles with star das to determine how close to the service threshold the sbc unit is and replace them at the dealer's expense. This is a major safety issue that needs to be addressed. Lastly, passenger air bag light has been on since shortly after purchasing the vehicle. Known as the srs system. This issue is spelled out as a major safety concern in mercedes e class operator's manual, told by mercedes service dept,this is a $800. 00 bill to have repaired. Question,, does something tragic have to happen before, Mercedes Benz live up to their obligation of keeping those who purchase their vehicle,,,,,safe.

After refueling, the car has a strong gasoline odor inside and outside the car. The air brakes make a roaring noise when pressed. The air bag is deactivated srs indicator remains on.

2005 mercedes E320 steering column wiring failure ( 'clock spring" & steering wiring module & srs air bag "failure). Partial repair corrected loss of turn signals, horn and speedometer at a cost to me ( owner of $749. ). One day later srs (air bag fail indicator) came on again. Back to dealer who said a wiring harness in the steering column is also bad & needs to be replaced at an additional fee of $516. But that they would do repair for $429. ??? did not affect repair yet. Just noticed defect investigation?? what should I do ?? (failure light for srs is still on etc. ). Can I recover (past $749) and future? ($516 / $429) costs???.

Srs indicator lamp on. The srs light is illuminated and dash display reports complete failure of all srs systems. Error code 9103, defective connector and wire, airbag line to steering column, caused entire srs shutdown.

Exact date of incident not known I am third owner of car and have known the second owner the entire time of her ownership. The srs light on the dash stays lit at all times, as does the passenger side airbag off indicator. Was wondering if this was a one incident type or if this is a trend among older E320's that are out of warranty.

Upon taking ownership of vehicle air bag light on the instrument panel was illuminated. Dealership changed an unknown component, and since then has examined vehicle two more times for same problem. Consumer has been informed that wiring harness had to be replaced in order to correct the problem, and was being charged $2,500. 00 for repairs. Please provide any additional information / documentation.
