System restraint malfunction seems like it the passenger side airbag won’t let you no if on or of.

Back air bag behind driver lost air while driving. Took in to repair they thought it was air line. They repaired but same thing happened leaving repair shop at an intersection. All the light turned on to stop driving just like before. I towed back to shop. They said the whole system needed to all be replaced. My only reason to file this is the fear I had of getting hurt or hurting other by my vehicle just being undrivable while in motion on major intsection. This problem occured before but always when leaving my home so id just wait for the air suspension self correct. Which it had before. I was only going 15mpg or so when it gave out I was approching my right hand turn. We are available to help with more details and documentation if needed.

Takata recall: the srs light in my vehicle has been on for a while. It just happened overnight without any reason. My concern is what would happen if I got into an accident, would the air bags still work. I'm wondering if this issue comes from the manufacture because I have heard of some of the benz from this year with the same issue.

The car has been hacked into numerous times. The hackers can lock and unlock the doors, shut it down on the freeway during rush hour, control the brakes, shift gears, access the front hood and steal oil. They recently put black oil in the car which disabled the car. They also turned on the check engine light several times which prevented the car from being register even after a $1,300 dollar repair. Now the jacket are controlling the air conditioning even though the battery is has no charge and the rfin the cat is too high to were it knocks out bees when they pass the driver side door. Also l have to walk 100ft away from the car to protect myself from falling asleep. Now l cannot sit in the car with having to rush to the rest room. I was able to cover the driver side door air bag temporarily to stop this but now it is worse. When l get out of the car l am fine. There are unusual noises coming from the car even though it is disabled. Also the hackers can control exactly which part of the body to hit with extreme cold. The complete functionality of the car to is n their hands. Mercedes benz USA refuses to acknowledge car hacker and told me not to contact them again I n several occasions. The inside of the car had been destroyed because unlimited access. Numerous police report s have been made to no avail.

My airbags self deployed while I was driving. I had just left work and driving northbound on the west sam houston tollway approaching the toll station at highway speeds. There was an incredibly loud explosion and and hard percussion as the airbags self deployed while I was driving. I thought I had been punched or shot in the gut. The passenger side curtain dropped down and the right rear passenger side door bag deployed. The seatbelt around my waist and shoulder tightened. Fortunately, I kept it together and drove directly to the dealership. I had not hit anything, run over a pothole, swerved or otherwise make any sudden direction change. I was immediately called by an operator on the mercedes emergency system within the car. So mercedes is aware of the incident at the time it happened. She asked if I needed an ambulance or police. I told her that the airbags had deployed on their own and that I was physically ok. Additionally, I drove immediately to star motor dealership where they looked at my vehicle less than 20 minutes after it occurred. The service adviser and some of the technicians quickly looked at the vehicle (it was near closing time). They said they could not read the codes other than the srs fault. I was advised that it would likely be cheaper to fix at a body shop than at the dealer. I later found that the driver side rear seatbelt had also deployed and was tightened.

On November 19th, 2014, while stopped on habana at mlk, jr. Blvd. In tampa, florida, without any warning whatsoever, a very loud "explosion" occurred inside my car and there was instant pressure on my chest. From the noise and the pressure, I thought I'd been shot, but then realized neither I nor the car was struck by anything! I looked at the drivers on either side of me (nobody behind me) to see if they had heard or seen anything, but nobody was looking my way, so it was obvious they had not heard or smelled anything (burning odor" emanating from somewhere in the car). I felt pain in my chest & back/shoulder, and was shaking, but since I was on my way to the doctor anyway, I proceeded to her office for my appointment. Immediately after, I went to the mercedes dealership (no seat belt), where I left the vehicle to be repaired. They acted as though this kind of thing happens every day - nobody even asked if I was ok; nor did anyone discuss the obvious "malfunction" that had just occurred. I was later advised this happened because the "computer" thought I was about to crash! now, the car needs a new seat belt assembly and an srs control unit/total price ~$3,000! I told my service guy (dr) that they need to pay for these repairs, that this was obviously a malfunction/defect in the car. I was told this is not the dealership's concern, that I need to contact Mercedes Benz, which I did. I am writing this on December 6th, 17 days after leaving my car at the dealership. I am shocked by the lack of customer service from mbusa - the customer service girl at mb would not even give me her supervisor's full name or contact info. ! *****note: there was a recall for this exact issue on my exact model, which neither the dealer nor mbusa has mentioned yet!!***** unfortunately, I am forced to retain counsel.

When you replace the battery on these vehicles the safety restraint system malfunctions rendering the safety equipment useless ie. Air bags the automobile should have a recall whereby mercedes fixes the defective system.

2000 Mercedes Benz e-320. Consumer writes in regards to mechanical malfunction caused the deployment of air bags. The consumer stated the drive shaft dropped from the vehicle. Also, the vehicle lost power. When the state trooper arrived on the scene, he noticed the vehicle had lost all of its transmission fluid. The consumer was informed it was likely the drive shaft hit a transmission line and caused it to rupture. The insurance company declared the vehicle a total loss, as it was not worth the expense of fixing. The consumer did not believe, the air bags should have deployed because of a mechanical malfunction.

After refueling, the car has a strong gasoline odor inside and outside the car. The air brakes make a roaring noise when pressed. The air bag is deactivated.

Tl- the contact owns a 1999 mercedes E320. The contact stated that while exiting a driveway, the front drive shaft fractured and all of the air bags inadvertently deployed. Vehicle was involved in a near head on collision. Vehicle was traveling at approx. 40 mph with secondary vehicle traveling approx. 50 mph. Secondary vehicle impacted the mercedes nearly head on. As I was entering the interstate on the on ramp my rear u joint on front drive shaft came apart. Subsequently both my curtain airbags deployed as well as my driver front door air bag. As it was considered a mechanical failure my insurance with usaa did not cover anything.

Driving east on us 30 in slow moving traffic on wet pavement (due to previous rain) between toronito street and loucks mill road in york, PA, I attempted to slow down to stay with the traffic and realized the brakes were not working, I applied full pressure expecting the abs to activate and nothing happened. 2006 mercedes E320 cdi srs malfunction message. So far have had to replace steering wheel wiring harness connector, harness, reel, and computer to repair srs.

"airbag failure" the srs light came on my 2005 mercedes E320 cdi. I paid the dealer $100+ to pull the codes and it was the airbag connector in the steering column. Since I work on the car myself and it was just out of out of warranty (30,000 miles but 4 years and a couple of months). I bought another connector and replaced it myself. I have a 1992 mercedes and it has gold pins on the airbag circuit whereas this 'new' car has grey 'zinc' pins.

On-board computer gives an "srs malfunction - visit workshop!" message, despite being evaluated and reset by local service center at owner's expense. Problem appears to exist for many owners of this make/model.

Per dealer's repair invoice. . . Check codes and evaluate. Check actual values and check dtb. Perform repairs, replace wiring to steering wheel control module. On 06/29/06 srs light on again with malfunction message. Took to dealer and advised same problem as on 2/20/06. Car is at dealer awaiting repair and has been promised for today, 6/30/06.

I lost control of the car at the end of a freeway off ramp on a rainy day and went off the road into an embankment and after one spin bounced into a utility pole, hitting the car on the driver side. The driver side door was pushed into the steering wheel. The car is a total loss. None of the air bags front or side deployed, which in view of the nature and magnitude of the impact is unbelievable.
