1 Suspension Noise problem of the 1997 Mercedes Benz E320

Failure Date: 08/26/2016

While making a left turn on a major street I heard a loud pop and pulled over to see if I ran over something, but nothing was in the road. When I started the car and began driving I noticed the suspension was making noises. I took it to a mechanic shop and was told the passenger side rear coil spring perch separated from the body and the car should not be driven. They quoted me $1500. 00 to repair.

2 Suspension Noise problem of the 2003 Mercedes Benz E320

Failure Date: 09/10/2014

I'm lucky to be alive! I purchased this car in 2005 and ever since I purchased my 2003 merc. Benz E320, it's been a crazy ride! here's a list of different issues that happened to me over the course of me owning this vehicle, which unfortunately I still do. I was driving with my little girl in tow and my brakes went out on me several times, my battery dies constantly, I had an issue when after I pumped gas you could smell fuel both inside my car & outside of my car, I literally one time had fuel pouring from the back of my car that ended on my garage floor. (thank god I don't smoke!) my suspension is constantly rattling, I have water that leaks on my feet when I drive occasionally and sometimes I have heat in the winter and sometimes I don't. I always have a check engine light on and as soon as I fix one, another one comes on. I currently had issues with code po134, po135 and had the O2 sensor changed, then my check engine light came back on and now I have codes po171 & po174 that I have no idea how to get fixed because it could be a number of issues. My battery drains when my electric seats are plugged in and so I have to have them unplugged to save my battery. Did I mention my back tire blew out on interstate 95 and I almost lost control of my car. It's devastating to pay the amount of money you do for this particular model, it's pretty on the outside and is a mess under the hood! is it normal when you have the ac on for it to sound like an airplane ready for take off? I'm tired of investing all kinds of money into this car, I just can't take it anymore! I can't even pass my va. State emissions test because of all these error codes (check engine light and malfunctions) and the state doesn't even find my car worthy of being on the roads.

3 Suspension Noise problem of the 2005 Mercedes Benz E320

Failure Date: 12/21/2013

I brought my 2005 mercedes E320 [purchased oct. 2014] in for an oil change Jan. 30, 2014. I mentioned to the service person a noise [like something broke] I heard while out of town visiting. He changed my oil and also found/replace a broken rear suspension spring. This occurred within 3 months of purchase. Repair cost: $551. 17. My second incident occured Feb. 19th. I noticed a puddle of fluid underneath the vehicle [not sure what kind of fluid] and immediately brought the car back to the dealer for service. I was told the transmission servo solenoid seals required replacing. Repair cost: $157. 84. The third incident was reported Apr. 21, 2014. I noted an increasingly bad odor inside the car since the first day of purchase, but wasn't sure exactly what it was as I was still trying to identify it. I finally realized it was gas I was smelling [intermittantly] inside the vehicle for the last six months. It turned out to be leaking fuel from the left fuel pump seal (lfps) underneath the rear seat. Repair cost: $161. 31. The fuel odor got worse after the replacing the lfps. Most noticeably after filling the car with gas. I've also identified gasoline leaking from the drivers' side rear quarter that puddled by the tire. My feeling at this time, repairs may be onging for my E320, that I really like.

4 Suspension Noise problem of the 1998 Mercedes Benz E320

Failure Date: 11/25/2011

Some rust damage has been observed on the body of the car for quite some time, but no mercedes mechanics suggested it was structural or dangerous. Recently, a loud creaking noise from the front right tire began to occur when driving, especially when subjected to bumps, even at very low speeds. By removing the tire, we discovered that the creaking was from the poorly designed suspension cap, which had rusted and broken partially off, bending the spring against the axle. This damage is extremely dangerous, as no mercedes mechanics identified the rust at this point, and if the cap snapped off, the entire wheel carriage would break. If the car had been operating at high speeds, this kind of failure, which could occur instantly when subjected to a normal shock impact, could cause a serious or fatal accident. The cap is definitely a very dangerous design flaw, especially as the mercedes structure rusts (which they claim no accountability for), and many of these cars could easily be on the road today. Thus, we believe that significant danger to the consumer public is completely ignored by mercedes-benz, which we feel is an appalling lack of concern and complete oversight on the part of the company.
