2007 e-350 Mercedes Benz sedan 40,000 miles; had two brake failures: popping sound from brakes as if calipers stuck and released; brake pedal goes to floor. Little if any braking power; brakes generate excessive heat but then recover to normal. On both incidences (8/31 and 8/21) mechanic could not replicate despite multiple test drives (in shop 5 days) car now again garaged. Afraid to drive. Mb not responsive.
6/29/14 traveling when check engine light came on. Stopped and looked under hood, did not see anything out of the norm, drove it home. Drove a few days later to dealership. Found intake manifold faulty and cam adj maginet. Not repaired-$3000 quoted. Drove it home where it remains. Searches on internet shows this defect is under investigation. Also car rides rough; all four wheels are bent due to regular road wear and tear. Both these issues could have caused catastrophic consequences. I am not the first owner of this mb. Were mb aware of these defects and failed to inform me prior to purchasing the E350? the manufacturer needs to remedy these defects.
Brakes did not catch like I pushed brakes all the way. I have to pump brakes 3-4 times before driving and when reversing they lock. I took it to a mechanic and the abs control module is not working now it needs to be replaced. I can't drive it since the brake lines hav eno brake fluid running through them.
