I was involved in a head on collision when a motorist driving in the wrong lane hit the front of my car in the evening of 10/2/24. The impact was huge and my car was totaled. However, my airbag did not deploy and I hit my chest and knees very hard against the steering wheel and dashboard. Airbag deployment is a basic safety feature during an accident particularly in a luxury vehicle like Mercedes Benz that is known for its safety record.

Took my car to Mercedes Benz of chicago on 2 occasions for the recall. They refused to replace the airbag that was recalled unless I get the seatbelt retractor fixed which was $600. They also tried to get me to look at newer vehicles to purchased. I feel like they were trying to get me to spend money on labor for other things wrong with the vehicle in order to get recall done. I also didn't like the fact that they kept my car overnight and made sales calls to me.

Mercedes keeps extending the date to replace my air bags. They say that can't do anything because the bags aren't available. How are the still making new cars with airbags if my aren't available for replacement? this has been an ongoing issue since the recall first came out.

Takata recall. I have made numerous attempts to have my takata airbags replaced, only to be told by mercedes that there is nothing they can do to speed this fix up. I have a 16 year old son that has started to drive. I need this issue fixed immediately. Mercedes is dragging their feet. I could have my car in the shop today if they were willing to fix it.

Local dealership was contacted regarding recall. I was informed that "the parts are not in" and "you will be contacted when we receive the parts". This entry is for documentation purposes.

The electronic key fails to recognize key. Vehicle does not start, does not turn off once started, and transmission shifts to park (p) at speeds below 6mph. This occured while driving into driveway at shopping center, parking spot, and multiple times in restraunt parking lot. It also occured at a stop sign ans stop light. The start stop issue has been occuring for at least one year, despite dealer service and the shift to park issue began a few weeks back.

Takata recall. Nhtsa recall # 16v081 (Feb. 11, 2016) and 16v363 (may 25, 2016. ) manufacturer recall # 2016020003 and 2016070003. Manufacturer mercedes-benz USA is unable to remedy these safety recalls. Stated reason: "recall incomplete. Remedy not yet available. " no estimate on when replacement airbags will be available. Manufacturer has failed to remedy the safety recall in a timely manner.

Takata recall in Dec 2017 I was notified that my airbag initiators required replacement and parts would be available by March 31,2018. According to mercedes they have no idea as of today (10/22/2018) when the parts will be available. I have intentionally avoided driving the vehicle for almost one year because of the hazard that exists with the airbag. ( I have driven the vehicle less than 1500 miles since last December) this situation is unsatisfactory. My patience has ended. Other than selling the vehicle, what are my options now ?.

I have contacted Mercedes Benz dealers a few times. They keep telling me that when they get the replacement for the recalled airbags they will contact me. They never did. I received a notification from tk holding inc that my deadline to replace the airbags is coming to an end. I don't know what to do.

Takata recall - since the inception of the recall and through today, I have been unable to obtain a replacement airbag(s) and have been unable to obtain any information as to when that may occur from the dealership where I purchased the vehicle new. As a result every day I drive the vehicle, based on the notices I have received, I am at risk of personal injury or death. In addtion, if I attempt to sell or trade the vehilce at this time the value of the vehile is dimished for the same reasons.

Takata recall. My wife and I purchased our Mercedes Benz 18 July 2017 and were required to sign a document stated that we understood that the takata air bag was under recall but had not been repaired at the time of the purchase. The dealer ship and Mercedes Benz web site estimated the repair would take place in March 2018. During March 2018 I checked with my local dealer and the Mercedes Benz web site and was informed that the repairs would take place in June 2018. Again, at the end of June 2018 I contacted the dealer and they had no information on the recall repair date. I contacted Mercedes Benz and was informed that the repair date is now December 2018. I have informed Mercedes Benz, in writing, that the air bag recall is a safty issue and needs to be repaired. I have not received and additional information. Takata recall- sold vehicle in December of 2016 due to worry of airbag deploying and flying metal killing me, which isn't safe as it was recalled and there was no remedy at the time, which substanially lowered the value. "takata recall" six months after the takata safety recall was issued I contacted Mercedes Benz costumer service via phone asking for a time line as to when and how they plan to resolve the situation. The answer I received was that they not only have no timeline to resolve the matter but that the problem involving my car model was not a priority since they have had no incidents. I am filling this complain because the manufacturer is failing to resolve the matter in a timely manner. Mercedes benz is unable to provide me with any specific plans to remedy the safety recall for my vehicle six months after the recall was issued. They cited the recall is a precautionary measure, that they have had no incidents and when confronted with the fact that other manufacturers have plans or are fixing the issue, I was told "they must have had incidents". Am I to conclude they are waiting for an accident in one of their cars to start acting upon this issue?.

Takata has notified Mercedes Benz of a recall. They have not manufactured the replacement parts. In reading of the notification, I see that they have exceeded the allowed time to make corrections. My complaint is that I am driving an unsafe car that needs the airbags replaced with safe ones.
