Nine problems related to front driver side air bag inflator have been reported for the 2010 Mercedes Benz GLK350. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Takata inflators. I went to the dealer located in 1810 shore parkway , brooklyn , NY 11214 phone number 7182585100 and they refused to fix the air bag problem. They said mercedes doesn't have the funds to fix it.
Takata recall defected airbag inflators.
Takata recall. Having received notice of takata filing for chapter 11 bankruptcy, I contacted my local mercedes dealership asking if they were doing repairs for the two takata airbag inflator recalls mercedes issued in 2016. They said they will not address the issue until takata provides a remedy. It seems highly unlikely this will happen so we are left driving a vehicle with a defect known to result in injury or death.
Takata inflators called dealer, pohanka Mercedes Benz of salisbury, and they said parts are not available and will not be available until 2018. How do I know when parts are available?.
Takata recall with airbag inflators.
Takata inflators. Mercedes benz in portland oregon (authorized dealer) cannot replace the air bags as they have not received replacement air bags.
Takata recall. The contact owns a 2010 mercedes-benz Glk350. The contact stated that the recall notice for NHTSA campaign number: 16v081000 (air bags) was received in February of 2016. After contacting the local dealer (capital eurocar mercedes, 3705 w. Tennessee st, tallahassee, FL), an appointment to have the replacement air bag inflator installed was scheduled. When the contact arrived at the dealer, he was informed that no outstanding recalls were associated with the VIN and the vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The contact had not experienced a failure. VIN tool confirms parts not available.
Takata inflators: it has been 2 years since the recall yet I can not find a Mercedes Benz dealer that can remedy the situation.
Takata recall. This recall is far too slow. It is a dangerous safety item, and it is more than a year that this problem has been well know. Nhtsa must compel takata and the car manufacturers to increase production or outsourcing of the defective parts. This is shameful on the part of NHTSA, takata and the automobile manufacturers. All air bag inflators should go to the recall, and none to new vehicles until the recall has been completed. .
