Nine problems related to side/window air bag have been reported for the 2010 Mercedes Benz GLK350. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
2015 Mercedes Benz glk 350. Consumer writes in regards to passenger side airbag safety recall. The consumer stated the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time to complete the recall repair.
Takata recall - the recall has been ongoing for over two years and still no replacement parts available. Now there is a second recall for the passenger side airbag and parts are not available for it either. If this is not an emergency then why the recall. If it is an emergency then why is it taking so long to fix.
I received notifications of the takata recall for the passenger side airbag over a year ago. It has been over a year now and still no word on repairs needed. I have been in constant contact with the local dealership who don't have a repair status for me. Just recently received a letter from tk holdings inc. To file a complaint. This is my only vehicle and I drive in constant fear that someone may hit my car for these airbags not to perform like they are supposed.

Two recalls regarding driver and passenger side airbags. Dealer does not have parts to replace.
Takata recall. . . . We were notified of this vehicle's recall because the driver side airbag in February 2016. To date we have not received notice that a remedy for replacement exists to even schedule the replacement of this faulty airbag. Ten months seems like a long time to wait for this work to be done. Nothing has occurred but we rarely drive this car at this point.
:takata recall" we have called park place Mercedes Benz- 1300 texan trail, grapevine, TX (817)310-7300, service department on two separate occasions and spoke to the service department about our recall on the driver and passenger side airbags and they said that we would be last due to the age of our auto. We still have not received a call from them to bring in our automobile. They said my name was on the list and whenever they got the airbags, they would call. Please help me get the two airbags installed. Thank you.
Takata recall - received owner notification letter from mbzusa dated June 2016 r. E. Defective driver's side airbag being recalled (see "mbz letter"); letter stated that no "suitable replacement part is tested or available" but when it was, owners would be sent "2nd letter notifying you to bring your vehicle in" for repair - "bring" not "drive" - nowhere in the letter was there a word about the vehicle being safe to drive, nor was the word "drive" even mentioned. So officially I now have a car with a defect known to have caused at least 10 us deaths, but no remedy. Most concerning are the documents posted on NHTSA website for mercedes-benz, which show mbz notified NHTSA of vehicles w/ safety defect (I. E. Exploding takata airbags), including my vehicle, on 8 Feb 2016 (see feb16 defect). Nhtsa acknowledged defect notice on 12 Feb 2016 (see feb16 NHTSA ackn), & stated "it is required that owners be notified of a safety defect in their vehicles within 60 days of a manufacturer's notification to NHTSA of a safety defect in those vehicles. " why wasn't I notified w/in 60 days? on mbzusa website/recall faqs, they state "any customers potentially affected will be mailed. . . In April" (see mbz2 Apr vs Jun). Cya, break the rules & no remedy in sight. Corporate vultures. Nhtsa needs to hammer them please. Also concerned about recent death of actor killed by Jeep in a different safety recall without remedy. What is NHTSA doing about this??? owners are stuck w/ unsafe cars that can't be repaired! how is this possible?.
Takata recall. . . . . The original notice was in April 2016. Its a year and a half later and no remedy for the recall of the drivers side airbags. Checking the airbag recall website, it states that the remedy is still not available. Seriously?????.
