Takata recall. The recall letters have been sent to owners since may of 2016 but as of today, July 24, 2017, there is still no replacement airbags available to replace the defective airbags. We should not be exposed to these unsafe airbags. There should be a vehicle rental option paid by the airbag manufacturer until the airbags are replaced.
"takata recall". Reference # 11140309. Current info on report incorrect. Please update with below. Recall number 16v363 and 16v081. I purchased my pre-owned Glk350 on Dec 24 2016. The dealer alm of duluth did not inform me of an open recall. I received a recall notification from mb Dec 2017 stating parts would be available March 30, 2018. On March 2018, another notice stated it's delayed until June 30, 2018. As of today, still no notifications as to when the airbags will be replaced. This vehicle is a daily driver. Oct 2018, I went to mb of athens and asked about the takata recall. The service mgr said they were replacing airbags on 2009 c-class. Mb headquarters said this is incorrect and that mb vehicles do not require the replacement because no mb vehicles have been involved in a takata related incident. A wsbtv investigation reported from takata that high humidity increases the likelihood of premature ruptures. This Glk350 was originally purchased in miami and resold in atlanta. My glk is a daily driver and this is unacceptable from mb!! mb is playing russian roulette with our lives. The only notice I want from NHTSA is a date when my airbags (driver & passenger) will be replaced. If NHTSA cannot 'fine' mb for their direct denial, then I'm filing a class action lawsuit !.
Takata recall. There presently is no replacement bag availiable.
According to the NHTSA and mbusa this car has two recalls on it due to airbags potentially killing ocupants in the vehicle. I knew about the first recall but not about the second recall on the vehicle until I got a letter from mbusa two weeks ago addressing the issue. When I look on NHTSA the recall dates back to may of 2016 but mbusa has notified me two weeks ago. Reading on the NHTSA website the manufacture has 60 days to produce a solution on a recall but it has been well past the 6 months for one recall, well past one year for the recall. Please help me in getting a solution from mbusa to resolve the issue, my life could be taken away at any minute.

Takata recall Mercedes Benz notified me of the recall for my airbags in may of 2016. Since then I have received two more notifications postponing the replacement. On February 2, 2017, I spoke with teresa at mercedes (1-800-367-6372 ext. 4601) and was told that my vehicle was in phase 1 of the recall. The December 2017 letter stated that my vehicle was in priority group 4. A letter in January 2018 stated the my vehicle was in group 5. I believe that the recall of the takata airbags in my vehicle is not being handled properly and that my vehicle has not been categorized properly. I feel that my safety has been placed at risk far too long. Why has the priority group changed and the replacement of my bags delayed? is the problem with mercedes benz corporation or with the NHTSA?.
"takata recall" mbusa says that they are waiting for NHTSA to tell them when the new airbags will be available in my area (California). They blame the NHTSA for the delay---read the faq on their website. I am complaining that why the NHTSA is not taking this matter serious enough and why they do not tell mbusa to change my airbags. Why telling us this safety matter when NHTSA is not fast enough to fix the problem. I am literally driving a time bomb not knowing when it will explode. Mbusa is not willing to provide me with a loaner while you are making a decision. This is the most ridicules thing I have ever heard of, that a safety recall is been called but NHTSA is not taking it serious enough. As a tax payer I demand an answer and a replacement very soon.
