Mercedes Benz GLK350 owners have reported 21 problems related to front driver side air bag inflator (under the air bag category). The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Takata recall. Nhtsa recall # 19v010. We live in dallas and are again at the front end of our hot time of the year. It seems hot and or humid weather could cause the takata inflator to be more likely to explode. Mercedes seem to have no idea when this issue will be addressed. Nor do they seem very concerned about the well being of the owners of these vehicles. What can the NHTSA do to have mercedes buy back these vehicles or otherwise help owners to purchase a replacement mercedes?.

Takata recall. The defect in the passenger-side frontal airbag inflator may cause the inflator to explode when deployed. Nothing has been done to address this problem. The Mercedes Benz dealerships tell me the issue is "pending" and parts are not available. The car is four years old. When will parts be available?.

Takata inflators - I received a letter of the recall date Feb 2019. I called the mercedes dealer direct April 17, 2019 and they claimed they don't have the part and would send me a letter when one comes in. However, I have learned others who purchased cars after my purchase have had theirs replaced. I have great concern since my airbag indicator sometimes generates a warning. This replacement is long over due. . .
Takata inflators. I went to the dealer located in 1810 shore parkway , brooklyn , NY 11214 phone number 7182585100 and they refused to fix the air bag problem. They said mercedes doesn't have the funds to fix it.

Takata recall: there are two outstanding recalls for my vehicle (NHTSA 16v081 & 17v017) that have no remedies for over a year. One was posted in February 2016 & another in January 2017. Without this, I cannot have my airbag(s) changed and am worried every time I operate my vehicle. Should my airbags deploy, myself and my passenger run the risk of shrapnel from an inflator rupture. Rather than save lives, these airbags are ticking time bombs!.
Takata recall defected airbag inflators.
Takata recall airbag inflators notice. Called 2 dealers, family auto on binnacle drive in MD, said they weren't authorized dealer directed me to mercedes-benz of annapolis, said they had no parts and I should call this number 1-877-496-3691 and they would tell me what to do. Made all contacts on Thursday, November 30, 2017. Awaiting pertinent info to have vehicle repaired. Was told I could expect notification in the mail when parts were available.
Takata recall. Having received notice of takata filing for chapter 11 bankruptcy, I contacted my local mercedes dealership asking if they were doing repairs for the two takata airbag inflator recalls mercedes issued in 2016. They said they will not address the issue until takata provides a remedy. It seems highly unlikely this will happen so we are left driving a vehicle with a defect known to result in injury or death.
Takata inflators called dealer, pohanka Mercedes Benz of salisbury, and they said parts are not available and will not be available until 2018. How do I know when parts are available?.
Takata recall with airbag inflators.
I bought a care from Mercedes Benz in 2015 in pompano beach, florida. On may 2016, I had received a letter from Mercedes Benz stating that there is a defect that has been detected with driver-side seat airbags. In August 2016, I had received another letter stating that the passenger ¿side airbag inflator housing in my vehicle may rupture due to excessive internal pressure. Since I have received those letters, I have been really terrified to the idea that I and my kids are at risk if I have an accident. I had been involved in a deadly accident in 2012; I am alive today because the air bag was working properly. Since I have received that notice, I have to limit my driving. I have got to the point now that I am so scared that I am afraid of driving on any highways and expressways with the car. I have a tremendous level of anxiety and I am terrified by the idea that I am driving a car with an air bag defect. I called mercedes twice to seek for options that would if not resolve the issue but at the minimum alleviate my hardship, but they are not willing to do anything for me. They said that they are working on resolving the issue; I just have to continue to drive the car. I have offered them to; 1-give me a loaner while they are working on solving the issue, and I will continue to make my regular monthly payments. 2-give me a reasonable discount amount on another vehicle, so I can trade my vehicle for another one without that safety issue. They have refused to help me in any shape of forms. I am defenseless and hopeless. I know how powerful companies like Mercedes Benz are, that the reason I am turning to you in order to come to my rescue. I have to drive to work and take my kids to school every day. I can continue to drive a vehicle that is putting my like and two precious kids at risk. Please help me out.
"takata recall" mercedes-benz USA has notified me that there is a defect in the driver-side airbag inflator and it may rupture due to excessive pressure. They have not provided a date for me to bring the car in for repair therefore we are currently driving an unsafe vehicle that may cause bodiily injury or death to me or other members of our family. I want the NHTSA to contact the mercedes-benz USA and insist that they provide us with a safe vehicle until they correct the problem with our car.
Takata inflators. Mercedes benz in portland oregon (authorized dealer) cannot replace the air bags as they have not received replacement air bags.
Takata recall I received a notice of "a safety recall that requires your immediate attention" notice in Feb, 2016. I have been to all the websites, had my car into mercedes service for other items several times, and called all the mercedes 'recall info' phone numbers, and have asked for my replacement through all these channels. I still do not have the replacement, or even a date of when this 'safety recall' situation will be remedied. I am blessed that we have had no specific incident with the inflator malfunctioning and hurting anyone in my family. However, I am not happy that something could potentially happen, per mercedes and NHTSA notifications, but I am powerless to do anything about it short of parking the car. I can't afford to do that.
Takata recall. The contact owns a 2010 mercedes-benz Glk350. The contact stated that the recall notice for NHTSA campaign number: 16v081000 (air bags) was received in February of 2016. After contacting the local dealer (capital eurocar mercedes, 3705 w. Tennessee st, tallahassee, FL), an appointment to have the replacement air bag inflator installed was scheduled. When the contact arrived at the dealer, he was informed that no outstanding recalls were associated with the VIN and the vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The contact had not experienced a failure. VIN tool confirms parts not available.
Takata inflators, replacement part not available until April 2020.
Takata inflators: it has been 2 years since the recall yet I can not find a Mercedes Benz dealer that can remedy the situation.
Takata recall. This recall is far too slow. It is a dangerous safety item, and it is more than a year that this problem has been well know. Nhtsa must compel takata and the car manufacturers to increase production or outsourcing of the defective parts. This is shameful on the part of NHTSA, takata and the automobile manufacturers. All air bag inflators should go to the recall, and none to new vehicles until the recall has been completed. .
