I recently purchased my 2015 Glk350. When I purchased it there was an open recall for the passenger side airbag. I contacted the local mercedes dealer to have the airbag replaced and they say there is no solution for the issue. So I am driving around with the airbag turned off(by the dealer) and the dealer can't tell me when or if this will be replaced.

Takata recall - mercedes I've just received a letter stating my 2015 mercedes glk 350 has or may have a faulty passenger side airbag or inflater related to takata's poor quality standard. I checked with mercedes and they don't foresee replacement parts being available until may 2020, which is wholly unacceptable in scope. I understand this recall has been initiated voluntarily due to takata's history and there have not been any mercedes incidents, however if the part is concerning enough for a recall I am extremely dissatisfied that it could take over a year to remedy it and I could be potentially putting myself or family at risk. I understand the scope of this issue is global and of a new scale, but that does not absolve mbusa of providing an expedient solution; also it seems all manufacturers have been affected by this over multiple years-- why has there been such poor supply chain accountability and why have all brands been using only the same manufacturer for critical life safety? there needs to be more stringent observation of this in the future. Furthermore, this is a 2015 vehicle, and mercedes informed me via the phone that an investigation was instituted in 2016 but nothing was borne of it; I am confused about how now in 2019 we are reaching the point of recall without an incident, and also since I have purchased the vehicle after 2016 why there was no mention at all of this being a possible issue. Unacceptable that manufacturers have been able to skate on this issue.

Mercedes-benz USA, llc mailed me a notice that applies to my specific vehicle that the passenger-side airbag is faulty and can possibly cause serious injury or death because of sharp metal fragments upon deployment of the passenger-side inlator explosion, striking any occupants in the car. I contacted the local mercedes dealership and they have not been sent the replacement parts. I am uncomfortable to drive or ride in my car now. . Please overnight the part, or provide a courtesty car to use while we are waiting for the part and replacement service to be completed on my car. Thank you and please advise as soon as possible. This vehicle is currently under a formal recall by mercedes (NHTSA id# 19v010 - pnd tak phase 4). This complaint involves the lack of timeliness in resolving & correcting the issue. The recall letter states that deployment of the passenger-side airbag can cause ". . . Serious injury or death. " because of this warning, we are unable to accept passengers and are forced to limit driving the car without risking harm (or death) to ourselves or others. The recall notification letter was received in early 2019, but are told that parts necessary for the repair are estimated to be available in the 3rd quarter of 2020 (~18 months). For this extended time, we are expected to drive this car without regard to risk of injury or death; which is unacceptable to us. Not to mention the duress and anxiety placed upon us during this time. There seems to be no hurry or rush on behalf of mercedes, and their efforts to bring the airbag manufacturer (takata) seem negligent. When asked of the possibility to replace the airbag at our own expense, the local service rep advised us that this part is not available. To conclude, we feel this situation places us at undue duress and extended exposure to injury or death, should an accident occur prior to the "scheduled" repair.

Mercedes benz notified in February 2019 that passenger side airbag may be defective. Followed up with mercedes in November 2019. . They now advise that their best estimate is correct airbags will not be available for another year I. E. November 2020 . . Where is the urgency to protect their customers?.

Takata recall! we have been receiving letters in the mail for over two years about this recall and how dangerous and life threatening this problem is with the driver side and passenger side airbags. We received another one yesterday stating that the remedy is still not available. Knowing this, keeps us from driving it long distances and on highways unless it is absolutely necessary. It seems there has been a adequate amount of time to resolve this problem, being as it is life threatening. So, what is taking so long?.

Passenger side air bag defective and may explode. I received the "safety recall" notice dated February 2019. After 17 months, mb has not fixed the safety issue or provided a promise date, most recently I contacted mb on 5/13/20 with reference #20513000070. They were unable to provide an estimated completion date.

Tl the contact owns a 2014 mercedes-benz Glk350w2. The contact stated that the vehicle was included in an unknown NHTSA campaign due to the passenger side air bag. The contact spoke with fletcher jones motorcars (3300 jamboree rd, newport beach, CA 92660, (949) 718-3000) and was informed that there was no remedy for the recall. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 37,000.

Two recalls regarding driver and passenger side airbags. Dealer does not have parts to replace.

Takata recall; complaint due to receiving a letter barely 3/2017 (passenger side airbag) and just finding out there is recall for both airbags since 1/2016. No actual accident, but it is putting entire families in danger. An immediate resolution necessary.

We still have not received a call from them to bring in our automobile. They said my name was on the list and whenever they got the airbags, they would call. Takata recall - received owner notification letter from mbzusa dated June 2016 r. E. Defective driver's side airbag being recalled (see "mbz letter"); letter stated that no "suitable replacement part is tested or available" but when it was, owners would be sent "2nd letter notifying you to bring your vehicle in" for repair - "bring" not "drive" - nowhere in the letter was there a word about the vehicle being safe to drive, nor was the word "drive" even mentioned. So officially I now have a car with a defect known to have caused at least 10 us deaths, but no remedy. Most concerning are the documents posted on NHTSA website for mercedes-benz, which show mbz notified NHTSA of vehicles w/ safety defect (I. E. Exploding takata airbags), including my vehicle, on 8 Feb 2016 (see feb16 defect). Nhtsa acknowledged defect notice on 12 Feb 2016 (see feb16 NHTSA ackn), & stated "it is required that owners be notified of a safety defect in their vehicles within 60 days of a manufacturer's notification to NHTSA of a safety defect in those vehicles. " why wasn't I notified w/in 60 days? on mbzusa website/recall faqs, they state "any customers potentially affected will be mailed. . . In April" (see mbz2 Apr vs Jun). Cya, break the rules & no remedy in sight. Corporate vultures. Nhtsa needs to hammer them please. Also concerned about recent death of actor killed by Jeep in a different safety recall without remedy. What is NHTSA doing about this??? owners are stuck w/ unsafe cars that can't be repaired! how is this possible?.

Takata recall: NHTSA recall # 16v-081 the manufacturer, mercedes-benz, is unable to remedy the safety recall for my car. It has been over a year since I received the first recall notice for the driver-side airbags and nothing has been done. I contacted mercedes-benz several times. They do not have the parts to repair the air bags yet they have the time, resources and technologies to develop and produce new cars. Knowing that I am driving a car with defective air bags that could injure or kill is causing me a lot of stress and anxiety. I bought this car several year ago with the idea that my son would drive it. This car is unsafe and deadly. The deployment of the airbag can result in metal fragments striking the driver or passengers. It is unacceptable that, almost 2 years after the takata recall, nothing has been done by mercedes-benz and that I am left with a car that is hazardous.

Takata recall. I have been driving my vehicle with a potentially fatal driver side airbag for over 2 years. We were told it would be 2018 when we would have a fix back in 2016. We are now well into 2018 with no word as to when we will have a fix. This is ridiculous, I have to drive late hours and far distance to work and it is extremely dangerous to not have appropriate airbags.

Takata recall_ I initially received the recall in may, 2016 for the driver side air bag problem, then again, in August, 2016 adding a problem with the passenger side airbag. It has been over a year and plenty of time to repair the problems. As of today, 7. 12. 2017, no resolution has been made. This is a very dangerous problem and should have been fixed by now. I contacted mercedes on 6. 19. 17, they stated that the problem is being worked on and that "no mercedes has had this problem occur", that is all well and good but I do not want to be the first. Once again, since this is a deadly problem it should have been resolved. Thanks joe alexander.

Takata recall. . . . . The original notice was in April 2016. Its a year and a half later and no remedy for the recall of the drivers side airbags. Checking the airbag recall website, it states that the remedy is still not available. Seriously?????.

Takata recall - my vehicle has been under recall for a couple of years due to malfunction of driver side and passenger side airbags. I've received several notices via mail regarding the recalls and I have reached out to Mercedes Benz to help resolve the issue. Every time I call Mercedes Benz and my local Mercedes Benz dealer about the airbag parts, I am told my airbag recalls are "pending". My vehicle is unsafe to drive for myself and my passengers. My attorney has sent a letter to Mercedes Benz and to NHTSA regarding the situation as my vehicle has not yet been fixed and is a great hazard. The airbag parts, I am told, are no longer being manufactured. I don't feel secure driving my vehicle and am highly disappointed in the way my situation is being handled. Mercedes benz is aware of the law that they must fix the problem, however, they are not acting quickly to remedy the current issue. It is as if a major accident must occur before the problem gets fixed, which could result in great injury or death to myself and my passengers. I check the takataspecialmaster. Com website every single day, waiting on the claim forms to show so I can make my claim - the forms are still not available. This is unsatisfactory.
