Brake booster failure, this vehicle is exhibiting the exact same symptoms as described in recall campaign: campaign no. 2024050001, may 2024 all mercedes-benz centers subject: model gl-class, ml-class, and r-class (x164, w164 and 251 platform) model year 2006 – 2012 inspect brake booster – without pedal rework mercedes-benz ag, the manufacturer of mercedes-benz vehicles, has determined that on certain my 2006-2012 ml-class, gl-class, and r-class (164 and 251 platform) vehicles, the function of the brake booster might be affected due to advanced corrosion in the joint area of its housing. After extended time in the field and in conjunction with prolonged water exposure, this corrosion might lead to a vacuum leak at the brake booster. Loss of braking power puts me and everyone I am near while operating this vehicle in eminent danger!! this problem has been inspected and documented by Mercedes Benz of macon GA. 9-3-25 there were no warning lamps or messages present.

Corroded brake lines. This is a well known issue for many Ml350s built during this time period. This car was built with steel brake lines that easily corrode and present a serious safety issue. While driving a few months ago, the car suddenly lost the ability to brake because a line rusted completely through. The mechanic noted the lines are rusted in many other places as well. Mercedes refuses to correct this under warranty.

I was driving locally and when I put on the brakes for a car exiting a street. Immediately my car sensor went on and my car brakes started to fail. It was a very scary situation. This is a known problem with mercedes. Mercedes has a recall for the brake booster but will not fix the booster without the brake like being fixed. I have reached out to foreign motor car dealerships and this issue with the brake line is a known problem and a safety issue but mercedes is not taking responsibility for this issue that can kill someone for their parts that are corroding and rotting. Mercedes too years to take responsibility for the brake booster which can kill people and now they are not taking responsibility for their brake line issues that again can injure and kill people.

I was in drive mode and was looking to park the car on the open spot on the street. Had engaged the reverse gear and was attempting to get in the parallel parking spot. While I was doing that, suddenly the wheel locked up and car stopped with a jerk/jolt. Then came warning that the parking brake was not working (remember I had not engaged the parking brake as I was in drive mode). The locked up wheel would not move and I had great difficulty in making the car safe in the cross traffic. The issue here is parking brake cannot engage by itself. That has nothing to do with the age of the car, it is like the wheel cannot come off just because the car is old. This could have easily happened while the car was in motion at a higher speed, in that case with 1 wheel locked, a car would spin out of control in a moving traffic causing major damage to other vehicles and myself. Mercedes's rep claimed it was a maintenance item. Parking brake engaging by itself is a maintenance item?? we should put a notice to all customers and your life is in danger because the parking brake can engage by itself locking the wheel anywhere anytime. I am very apprehensive of this design which allows for auto lock of a wheel. It must be investigated and all the parking brake systems should be replaced as it can happen to anyone. Thank you.

When reversing the vehicle the brake pedal jumps with your feet on the brake pedal and a nose rattles,when driving and you have a sudden stop motion the vehicle brakes pedal with your feet on it it’s very hard to push the brake pedal . Reversing the vehicle very strong nose and the vehicle doesn’t stop right away.

Brakes feel spongy,, when letting off accelerate feels as if transmission has a brake applied.

I have reached out to mercedes-benz to have the 2 recalls fixed. They tell me I will receive a letter with instructions. I have not received any letters and it's been more than 6 months.

Brakes died in may, 2022 and it took the dealer to September to inspect as it was part of recall. They told me they had to order the part so I called every 3 weeks to see if it came in. In December they said they need to inspect to see if it is covered. Again they inspected and said yes it is and we need to order the part (this is crown eurocar mercedes in st petersburg). At the same time I called mercedes USA (they gave me a case number 2-37306691522). They picked up the car in December and since then it has been the same run around. They are not attempting to fix the problem. I am begging your department to help in this matter.

Received recall notice dated August 2022. Phoned local Mercedes Benz of chicago on 1520 w. North avenue and Mercedes Benz of chicago service center on 949 n. Elston Ave. Scheduled a mobile inspection multiple times but they never showed. I was instructed to contact brake booster hotline to have them tow the vehicle but tarek at this company informed me that I needed to coordinate a date/time with mb dealer to accept the vehicle upon towing. Left a couple of messages with maya at mb dealer to coordinate appointment for towing company to tow the vehicle but have not received a response. I phoned mb dealer again today and spoke with jenny who informed me that she would notify the manager, vince. Jenny informed me that the vehicle cannot be serviced even if it is towed to their dealership. Her experience has been that they have been unable to service these vehicles from this particular recall. This recall issue has continued to go unresolved and the recall notice clearly states that owners are advised not to drive the vehicle until inspection is performed. The vehicle has not been driven for many months and we are currently just waiting for any response from Mercedes Benz.

The brake booster failed while driving and I almost got in an accident. The brakes did not fully work and started pulsating almost like if the antilock system engaged. The brake booster was leaking air around the piston that attaches to the brake pedal. You could hear the air leaking when the pedal was pressed. It has been repaired at he mb dealer for about $2300. There were no indications of a malfunction, no lights or errors showed up.

Subject: complaint regarding failure to repair safety recall – brake booster (stop drive order) background in August 2022, I received a “stop drive order” recall notice from mercedes-benz, informing me that my Ml350 was unsafe to drive due to a defective brake booster. Despite repeated attempts over nearly three years, the recall repair has not been completed. Attempts to obtain recall repair initial attempts: contacted fletcher jones mercedes-benz (las vegas) twice; they refused to schedule service citing workload. Henderson dealership: scheduled inspection with mercedes-benz of henderson. Technician inspected my Ml350 at my home, confirmed the brake booster issue, and arranged for towing. Improper repair demands: after holding my vehicle two weeks, henderson dealership issued an $8,200 estimate for unrelated repairs (tires, control arms, starter). I refused, as these were unnecessary and unrelated to the recall. The service manager demanded I remove the vehicle from the lot immediately or he would have it towed to impound. Recall parts unavailable when I contacted mercedes-benz USA, I was told parts for the brake booster recall were not available, contradicting the dealership’s prior statements. My vehicle was returned unrepaired. Vehicle mishandling •tow company returned the vehicle at the wrong time, left it on the street with a window down, and failed to return the key. •despite repeated requests, the key has never been returned. •the Ml350 sat exposed for months, registration expired, and I had to hire another tow company to move it to my driveway. Lack of resolution •vehicle has been unusable for nearly 3 years. •my written correspondence and calls to mercedes-benz USA have gone unanswered or been mishandled (frequent transfers/dropped calls). •I have suffered financial costs, inconvenience, and loss of vehicle value. I respectfully request that 1. Immediate replacement of the defective brake booster at no cost. 2. Retrieval of my original vehicle key o.

Hello, there is a safety recall from the manufacturer and they have advised not to drive the vehicle. The vehicle does take a little more press on the breaks for it to function so we are assuming that we are affected by this recall. I have writen emails and called the mercedez hotline on June 1st 2022 and they assured me over the phone that the dealership will be able to help. When I called the dealerships in st louis, namely plaza motors and st louis mercedez they declined to inspect the vehicle and advised that I can keep driving untill they inspect the vehicle. The recall from mercedez clearly states that the vehicle should not be driven. When I told them about it they changed the story and told me they dont know when they can do the inspection. Upon calling mercedes back, they told me that they are sorry about the misinformation ad that I can rent a vehicle for reembursement but when asked about the process of getting the money back, they could not provide an answer. We did not feel comfortable renting a vehicle before knowing the process in detail so we called mercedes back and the next person told me that the rentals will not be reimbursed. We are really in a tough situation as the car is not safe to drive per the recall and neither mercedes or the local dealers are willing to help even after a month of the recall notice. We are hoping that either they can inspect the vehicle, give us a loaner vehicle or reimburse us for a rental vehicle. We have a small family with a 3 year old and want to make sure that we are all safe. Thank you.

Brake delay. Caused an at-fault traffic accident on Saturday, April 16, 2022.

Since my significant others and I purchased this 2006 Mercedes Benz SUV - ml-350, over three months ago, we were wondering why the "engine check light was always on" so we purchased (4) sensors and replaced the sensors of where obd tests pointed out for the engine, deleted the engine check light several times but it will go back on after we driven it for another 50 to 100 miles away to normal highways and freeways driving to relearn the computer system and the check engine light on again and again but not blinking? we called our friendly mechanics and he said it maybe faults recalled that part of the electronics or maybe the computer is giving that "engine check" light on because it has some safety components is malfunctioning, the braking is also hard and sometimes it is too soft when I push it with my right foot to stop the car and also the car is using too much gas. So, we kept postponement of bringing this car to the dealership for repairs because we cannot afford the repairs. Then today, I check to my email and I see the recall email from NHTSA about mb - ml-350 / recall number 2022050015 / NHTSA # 22v315, since we cannot smog check it because of the "engine check on" it is always on we were puzzled why this light and this car cost too much to use and sometimes hard and sometimes soft to push on it's braking power? please let us know on what to do next? shall we call the mb-dealerships to tow this car to their shop because we have stop using this car about over (3) months ago since we bought it ? braking system is sometimes is too hard and sometimes too soft and using too much gas and the "engine check is always on " even we have replaced the (4) electronic sensors that the obd machine pointed out but is still doing the same thing. Please advise us of what to do to resolve these operational safety of our 2006 - ml-350 Mercedes Benz, it is stored in our car garage. The rear reverse camera also stops working and it is saying braking lights are not functioning?.

On February 18, 2022 at approximately 2240 hours I was in a wreck which totalled my 2010 mercedes ml-350. I was approaching a curb and tried to brake but they didn't work and my vehicle pulled to the right and I totaled it out on an electricity pole. I was not aware of the recall 16v081 until September 04, 2022. My mercedes is currently under a tarp under my shed, and has been for months. Please explain the steps and procedures I need to follow to get my vehicle replaced because the damages to my vehicle as well as the transformers that blew, shutting off power in a 2 miles radius could have been fatal and I have since been without a vehicle.

Before the incident my mercedes started to pull away from me each time I attempted to press the brakes. At times the when I would press the brakes nothing would happen at all as if I wasn’t pressing them at all. Well on the night of February 18,2022 I was coming around a curb and when I went to press the brakes, my mercedes began to sway slightly but the brakes never kicked in. The result of the incident totaled my vehicle, took out two transformers and a light pole, and costed me a careless operation ticket, the storage and towing of the vehicle from the incident, to the tow yard, then back home, as well as paying the ticket and having to pay the dmv. There is still an unknown amount due to demco (the energy company) for the light pole, two transformers, after hours workers and the actual worked and labor they performed. The recall flyers hadn’t been mailed out until a few months after the wreck so I had no knowledge of the issues happening nor the fact that driving the vehicle could be detrimental.
